DISCLAIMER: Your Steps and Tasks may be different

start is Vikta in Necht.
step #1, 2 (these are steps for getting to Vikta, I guess... I never saw
them)

step #3 find the twisted creatures in the sylvan valley (22k, 19k approx)
kill one treecutter and one barkstripper.

step #4 return the two heads to Vikta

step #6 hunt 8 unnatural creatures in Vigilant Rock. this is annoying, trust
me... get yourself a bard to help. or be one. if you've done the other
quests in this area, you should be able to find the:

stilter--stilter body
cutthroat vines -- vine piece
wretched sanidon -- tail (loc=33324, 16034 Vigilant Rock)
ravaging marine shriller--voicebox
marine shriller-- voicebox
beach shrouder -- wing
beach or tidal anglator -- bone
treant --treant piece

all aggro things, but treants can be neutral. The tidal or beach angulaters only spawn if you attack the sanidons on the beach. its their dog that runs fro mthe water that cant be seen until you attack them.

step #7 talk to Vikta, he gives you a bag, so use it (hotbar, use item key)

step #8 give the bag to Vikta, he rewards you with af 88-90 pants (cloth
would be 44-45) that are quite excellent for whatever class you are.

44 Enchanter got:
182,567,690 experience,
5 Gold and some copper,
Gaia's Woven Gloves
(42 druid received 152,196,473 exp)

Detailed Write-up by Greensand:

Intro:

I did this quest with my 46 hero. Most of the mobs conned blue or yellow, but some could have been green (Treant for example) if I chose, or orange (Stilter). All mobs are located in Vigilant Rock and you will not need to go to any other zones for this quest. It is not as difficult as some have stated and really should not require a bard though one would be helpful. Seeing as the mobs con generally blue or yellow to a 46 and this is a level 40 quest though, I would recommend a group or bot if doing at 40.

For extra maps showing my basic pathing during the quest using Mythic's own map for ease of understanding; for a screen shot of the NPC Vikta in Necht; or for a screen shot of how the Ore Blasted Coif looks on a character, please click here.

Beginning:

First go to Necht in Vigilant Rock. Talk to Vikta the smith- directly in and to your right on the wall. He asks you to collect specimens of the Twisted Treecutter and Twisted Barkstripper.

For this step you will head directly West from the city of Necht in Vigilant Rock and go over one hill and then over a second which makes up the "sylvan valley" wall. The top of this wall is ringed by Stilters that conned yellow and orange. These are aggressive and hover above the ground, but avoidable with due caution.

Once in sylvan valley the requested mobs should be right before you. I found them at approximate loc. 24000 22000.

Return to Vikta in Necht with your Twisted Treecutter and Twisted Barkstripper heads. You should have One of each and your journal should direct you to return to Vikta.

46 Hero received 54,770,307 xp, "10 silver and some copper."

The Longer and Harder Next Part:

Vikta should tell you he has more for you to do now. He will direct you to find parts from eight different creatures. Vikta is not specificin naming the desired creatures or their parts, but the creatures and their parts are listed above and are:

1. Marine Shriller- voicebox
2. Tidal Anglator- tidal anglator bone
3. Beach Shrouder- beach shrouder wing
4. Ravaging Marine Shriller- voicebox
5. Treant- treant branch
6. Cutthroat Vines- vine piece
7. Wretched Sanidon- sanidon tail
8. Stilter- dead stilter

To gather these components I looked at a map, figured out what might be quickest and ran around as little as I could. Though the map does not show where every mob is, it shows most of them and this is the one I used

Here is the breakdown step by step for gathering these parts:

1. Marine Shriller: Make a sharp left out of the city of Necht. There will be Marine Shrillers right out on the beach. Mine was an aggressive yellow and located at 51108, 28056. It dropped a "voice box."

2. Tidal anglator: In the same swoop pick up your "tidal anglator bone" at the same loc- 51108, 28056. You will need to pull a "Sanidon," which is really a decoy for a tidal anglator. The Sanidon may be an actual Sanidon and you may need to pull several to get your anglator. My Sanidon was yellow. I shot him, he ran a little then crumpled, while to his left a blue anglator popped up already running towards me.

3. Beach Shrouder- wander farther South down the road from Necht. I found my yellow Beach Shrouder at 52420, 38655 in the hook at the bottom of the Vigilant Rock beach. He dropped a wing.

4. Ravaging Marine Shriller- This i found in the same spot as the Beach Shrouder. In fact the Shrouder I found while looking for a Shriller- the Shrouder is not labelled in this location on the map, but I found it convenient here. I found my yellow con Ravaging Marine Shriller there at 52420, 38655 (also found at loc=45K, 10K), and it dropped another "voice box." Yes this is labelled and looks the same as the other voice box. It will not be a problem when turned in.

5. Treant- Run across the road and kill a treant. I found mine at 48791, 40761. It conned blue and dropped a "treant branch." My treant dropped a Large Shield with stats for a spear hero as well.

6. Cutthroat vines- This was in the same spot as the Treant, 48791, 40761. Mine conned blue and dropped a vine piece.

7. Wretched Sanidon- For the Sanidon I ran North along the road towards Necht and then past Necht. I found my Wretched Sanidon along the lake in Northern Vigilant Rock at 37210, 13976. It conned yellow and dropped a "sanidon tail."

8. Stilter- For the stilter run over near the Southwest side of the lake to the hills overlooking it. I found my Stilter at 31440, 17877. It conned yellow and dropped a "dead stilter."

Final steps:

At this point you should be directed in your journal to return to Vikta with the pieces. I returned and Vikta gave me a bag to "USE" to put the pieces in. I put the bag on my quick- key bar and hit "shift-e" to use it. If this does not work for you I would type /keyboard to see what your setting for USE item is. After using the bag you should have a full bag and should give it to Vikta.

At level 46 my hero was rewarded 182,567,690 experience, and approximately 5 gold.
My hero also received an Ore Blasted Coif- AF 90 Scale/ Con 100/ Qua 100/ Power 4, Body 9%, Slash 9%, Cold 9%, effective AF (to 46 hero) 123 AF.

I wasn't sure if I might be able to exchange this since it is not appropriate for a hero, so I tried clicking it on Vikta to see what would happen. He did one of two things on repeated efforts- 1. He offered to repair it for 1 copper; 2. He said he had heard there was something wrong with the gloves he gave me and if I gave them to him he would be able to fix them. I don't recall doing a glove quest with this NPC and can not say what he is referring to.

Rewards:
Vikta's Fancy Pants -- Bard and Ranger
Gaia's Woven Gloves -- Enchanter, Animist
Ore Blasted Coif -- Druid and Hero
Stiff and Strong Sleeves -- Nightshade and Vampiir

Rewards:
  Vikta's Fancy Pants
  Gaia's Woven Gloves
  Ore Blasted Coif

Ravaging Marine Shrillers
# Nov 20 2003 at 8:17 PM Rating: Decent
Ravaging marine shrillers are to the left of necht if you're facing the shore, near the beach shrouders and mantas. At level 41, the ravaging marine shrillers were the only mobs I couldn't seem to do alone, but then I saw one fighting a beach shrouder. I watched for only a few minutes and saw two of these fights. The shrillers almost always win, so I just pulled one right after it had killed the shrouder and was at about half health. It made the quest a lot easier.

41 Valewalker completed the quest today.

Recieved 10 silver and some copper and 39,748,417 experience for turning in the initial two twisted heads.

I had no problems killing 6 of the 8 required monsters solo. At level 41, the Wretched Sanidons were red/purp and the Ravaging Marine Shrillers were OJ/Red and I got some help for those as reds are tough to solo and nukes from shrillers can really hurt.

Recieved 132,494,725 experience, 5 gold and some copper and the Gaia's Woven Gloves for completing the final turn in.

Ravaging Marine Shriller ?

I'm totally confused as to where to find Ravaging Marine Shrillers. I have killed the other seven with ease, but those last I just cannot find.

No matter how hard I look, I only find regular Marine Shrillers.

Is there another mob I can kill to complete this task ? If not, then where can they be found ? I'm desperate. They're not where the maps show them to me (on the beach next to the beach shrouders and soaring mantas).

They are Tidal Anglators, not beach anglators, (unless of course there is another species I did not see). There are some north and south of Necht on the beach... the trick is to find a Sanidon (or other such mob) that is moving faster (or differently) from the others.. you attack that, and it will quickly die. the Anglator will appear about 10 feet away and start attacking! They are sneaky like that! Kind of fun to watch if you have a pet.
