Clerks

I haven't seen anyone mention Clerks here yet. They are past the Hymadryads and the Giant Lizzies. We could take them easily with a mezer at level 30. They come in packs of three and are located in a big house. They are great for exp, but the drops vary.

Ok, this is what it's all about..

How to get there:
Goto cornwall station, keep going up the road for a looooong time, you'll eventually get there.

Tips for Traveling:
This place is VERY safe if you stick near roads, never go an INCH off it or the telamons will kill you, they aren't so bad when I was level 33, just make sure you sprint to another group then die, or yell for help, and yes the roads do go IN the water

Monsters:
1st of all, I havent been everywhere. There are 100 story witherwoodes hiding among black trees that only a GOOD group of 45+ can handle. The most common monsters to take on are the Pygmy goblins, the only problem is.. they come in groups of 3,4,5,6,7,8,9.. depends how good a puller you are, I was in a group today, he just ran and took the whole house full of them... But for some reason we were a good and lucky group and no one even got below 3/4 hp. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU ARE BELOW 30, OR POSSIBLY EVEN 35(if your character sucks) It is almost impossible to find a group there if you are below 30, or 35, some people are very picky and want only, "air theurgs" or "30+rej cleric" or such

Drops:
AmAzInG... Its just my luck to get all the good items, but I never get the ones i need... The goblins drop great items and silver... 50ish a kill, and thats 3 goblins that come each time, so thats 1.5g a mob, pretty nice. And they always drop a nice lvl45 ammy, and all this great stuff, just look in the item section.

thats all I have to say about that...

Let me tell you about Lyonesse !

I lvled 2 lvl 50s there and i will tell you how !

Start leveling there at lvl 35+ !

There are a few places with Pygmie goblins there , but start with the hut neer the Pikemen house ... cant miss it.

Get a group up and they will come in 3 at a time.

At 40+ get a group to the tanglers (Pygmie tangler)
LOC: left to the Telamon road inc from cornwall!

Tanglers will come in packs og 8+ , so you need a sorcerer.Chainpulling is the only way to lvl ;)

Next is Witherwoode trees !!!
Hard monsters. Be sure that all in group is 45+ !
Need a mezzer for them too, as they come in 3-4 !

And another thing !
Dont even try the Cailliondar guards ! they will kill you all , but nice drops ;)

I think a group of lvl +28 will do well against the Dunters as they are single pull, provided you don't come too close to the 'herd' and that you stay at the Dunters area which is just down the slope when you get into Lyonesse. They are good for XP but not for drops (they've dropped Magic Drum/Flute, Magical Leather/Cloth armor, but it's rare). As a point of reference, the Dunters are Yellow/Blue to a lvl 35 Cleric, with some Oranges in the 'herd' that stays with the named Dunter 'Colk'.

The Cornwall Drakes are Neutral, so, as long as you don't touch them, they'll leave you alone. The Hamadryads are at the top part of the hill and don't venture down, or don't venture too far down the slope.

Watch out for the Palieads (sp?). They aggro bad, but they usually stay at certain areas. Also, be wary of the pillars that line the roads. That is where the Telemons are and will aggro you should you wander within their aggro range. They con'd Orange/Red to a lvl 40 Pally.

One more thing, if you are hunting Gunters and should you see on your message board that a number of people were killed by Pygmy Goblins, be on alert for anybody running towards the Cornwall zone as more than likely they will be pulling a train of Pygmy Goblins. Some of the Pygmy Goblins will break from the train and attack people around the area. I've seen 10-15 pygs, or more, chasing people and I've heard stories of the Pygmy Goblins chasing people up to the Cornwall Station, hehe. They are great for XP and drops but expect to die <G>.

Good hunting and good luck.

The trick to traveling in Lyonesse is to stick to the roads. That also means following them right into the water and swimming. There are great places to hunt for anybody ~25 up.

This place is now itemized starting 3 days before the date of this post.

I found this area quite useful for leveling my wizard, I went from lvl 35-38 in a single day (about 18hrs of online time). I was with a balanced group which has to include a 40ish theurgist. There are 3 main areas (trees, arches, and the pennisula to pull the gobs). They come in herd of 10-20 normally at about 5million xp per pop. Use the theur to chain mez and pick off gobbies one at a time. You'll die time to time, but the xp is well worth the death.
By the way I made 300 gold during the time also.
not that bad

I was in Lyonesse in a group of 4. (22-26) and we were able to kill the weaker dunters and hamadryads. They are the same lvl as the catacombs and the legionarius outside the catacombs.

As a full group of 8, giant lizards and trios of shepherds(and farmers, and clergymen) were quite manageable.

DO NOT travel in Lyonesse alone and do not wander past the dunters and giant lizards. I saw a group of lvl(35-40) get slaughtered by Lessor Telamon(HUGE black knights). The Telamon hide behind large rocks just behind the dunters.

Min lvl
# Jan 05 2002 at 2:44 PM Rating: Default
minimum level for here is around 40 :)

There are alot of mobs and is useful to travel with a group if you do not have stealth
RE: Min lvl
# Apr 09 2002 at 11:51 PM Rating: Default
I disagree. lvl 35 sounds better as a minimum lvl. When i first got to lyonese i was lucky enuff to find a full group of all lvl 35's. We went to the house gobs on the hill near the pikemen and witherwoods. The gobs only came down in mobs of 3 after a pull.

Once you hit 40 I suggest either pikemen (for sweet *** plate), or tree gobs until you hit 45, then you can easily find a group to kill the witherwoods.
Nice XP

I joined a group the other day and we went to Lyonesse. I was 27 lvl cleric. We went to the area with Dunkers. These were great XP but there are many other things in the area that don't react well to a missguided arrows. Because of that a Drake killed half our party after our puller mistakenly hit it. Planning to go back there soon though. Also did any of you see the huge crab out in the middle of the water?
We stayed clear of that. he he

New Dungeon Here?
# Nov 25 2001 at 3:54 AM Rating: Default
Can anyone confirm the existence of a new dungeon here?
There's a spot guarded by Callileach Priests and Callileach Guards. In the middle, there appears to be a dungeon entrance. However, these mobs are super-high level so I can never make it in there to verify.

Anyone?

Some Notes
# Oct 29 2001 at 1:29 AM Rating: Default
I agree with the above post, this place is not for lower levels. However, a group of buddies and I felt like exploring one night and we took a trip down to Lyonesse.<br>
<br>
We discovered some little water creatures that looked like goblins. There was a half disintegrated castle and a strange house out on the water on stilts. We were intending to explore but then got jumped by one of the aforementioned water creatures. Needless to say, we were killed in one hit each.

Watch out.
# Oct 09 2001 at 8:13 PM Rating: Decent
Watch out! I made the mistake of going here at lvl 15. As you can see the minimum lvl you want to be is 30.
