Coruscating Mine

Type:Dungeon
Realm:Hibernia
Min Level:30
Max Level:45
Description:
In the realms of the Sidhe and faeries, there are two major factions that continuously play against each other. These are the Seelie and the Unseelie Courts. The members of the Seelie Court are generally benign in nature and do not actively seek to harm humans living in their territory. In some cases, they may even befriend humans such as with the Elves and Lurikeen. The Unseelie Court, however, is made up of all the dark and evil faeries, which include goblins, pookas, siabra, and other creatures of magic that may seek to cause harm to humankind. Because common metals, particularly iron, is dangerous to all magical creatures, both the Seelie and Unseelie Courts forge their weapons, armor and artifacts out of magical metals and gems. One of the most precious metals to both groups is true silver, sometimes called Mithril by others. True silver is a light, strong, magical silver that has been coveted by the Sidhe for centuries. One of the ancient kings of Hibernia, Nuada of the Silver Hand, had a hand forged of true silver after an opposing Fomorian king had severed his. The silver hand functioned as any normal hand and allowed him to renew his kingship (since no one of his kind was allowed to rule so long as they had a blemish on their body). The Coruscating Mine, located in the heart of the Silvermine Mountains, is completely controlled by the Unseelie Court. Bounty hunters and other members of this evil faction often raid human and firbolg towns and villages to supply a steady workforce. The humans and firbolgs they capture are forced to labor in the mines against their will; some of them are bound by geas, some by magical collars, and others by mind manipulation. Because there is a mild line of respect and code of behavior between the two factions, the Unseelie do not capture members of the Seelie Court. There are rumors that deep within the mines the Silver Hand of Nuada is protected by powerful guardians loyal to the Unseelie, which causes no little amount of unrest among those of the Seelie Court.

The Mines

My first experience down here was with a full group between levels 10-13.
We killed just about everything in the dungeon but in the end the murkmen got us so be careful of those guys when you go in a couple of levels.

If you are in the low to mid 30s and seeking nice scale there was some nice 80+ AF scale dropping off the mermen near the pond by the entrance to Treibh Caille when I went there recently for tunic and legs saving them for my lowbie Druid I guess.

Seemed less than common only got two pieces after killing him about 20+ times and he is a slow spawn so I whack him everytime I enter or exit the Triebh caves pretty much to see what else he might drop.

I've heard you can sell or give this item to a certain npc for a big gold reward. Any clue who it is??
Unknown Mine

Hi all, I came across this "mine", W and a little N of the watch tower between Howth and Ardagh. It had RockWorms and some sort of Sheerie or walking rock. Also a little further in it had some mobs of the spraggon family. I couldn't go in that far because I was just a lowbie on my own. Just curious because I haven'y seen it mentioned.

#Anonymous, Posted: Apr 27 2002 at 2:08 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) You're an idiot too...You can't even spell the contraction 'you're'....
#Anonymous, Posted: Apr 27 2002 at 3:47 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) YOUR an idiot too... The possessive takes the form yours when the noun to which it refers is not expressed, but implied; as, this book is yours. sheesh..
#Anonymous, Posted: May 09 2002 at 5:24 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) But the format in which you use it is not in the possessive sense, you've used a contraction (a bit like child birth, but not as messy), basically the shortening of two words 'you' and 'are', as in 'you are an idiot'... By saying 'your an idiot' you are basically saying that this 'an' 'belongs' (the possesive bit) to the 'idiot'...

Corsuc Mines

The Ursines drop the best armor, leather, RF, and scale, I'd not seriously try this place before 35, and even then beware. The Ursines have casters of several types and are VERY social.
39 is not a bad level to come here and really hunt for drops...
RE: Corsuc Mines
# Feb 04 2002 at 10:08 PM Rating: Decent
There are no Ursines in the Coruscating Mine, so I don't see how your information is relevant to this section. You'll find Ursines in Treibh Caillte if you want them.

So if this is the page for the mines lol.. heres the easy way not to get lost.. snag a ride to cain from lough parth farm.. when at cain.. lookin out to the caille area.. follow the wall on yer right.. you'll up a hill, pass some siabra, and voila.. cave entrance to the mines. And less you plan to stay at the zone... I'd take at least a group of mid 30s =) And if you're a penny pincher like me.. you'll want to check this place out, not too deep in some pretty nice stuff dropped for me, 80s af i believe(and my server is rather tuff to find a good armor smith around..so was basically quicker to come here get some xp and nice new duds=).. some scale and rein, some cool weps too, nice lil falcs and stuff =)
This here mine

Well, this dungeon IS itemized now, and my vault is full of stuff I can't use. The most common drops consist of: Leather armor, caster weapons, misc. jewelry for NS and casters, and caster staves.

The rarer stuff (and this may depend on where you hunt and how long you stay): Reinforced armor (af 88, one set has charisma, good for 40ish bards), scale armor (haven't seen it yet), LARGE weapons, small/medium/large shields, two sets of bard instruments (still don't add stats), at least two blunt weapons (dps around 15 spd around 5 for both, stats/level differ slightly), blades weapons (haven't seen any yet), a Short Recurve bow with something like 14 dps 2.5 spd.

The cash sucks now that it's itemized, never got more than 30 silver on a split.

Weeweres, some of the "golem" types, and a couple other things are on the rare loot table. There's a named critter down there somewhere that didn't drop anything the 4 times we killed it.

The dungeon is a mishmash of other dungeons, the last camp we went to was exactly like Spraggon Den. Haven't found a map yet, you don't really need one, since almost everything in the dungeon is worth camping. You won't be getting any camp bonuses in here for a few weeks, as the popular spawns are rarely left alone.

You need a bard in most spots, there are a few BAF mobs (which you won't pull except to get past them going in or out of Mines), there are QUITE a few roaming monsters that aggro randomly (I've heard 10%), then you get about 4 adds. This is also why a warden is good, so the bard has time to get those mezzes off. With three tanks in the group anybody can pull, and when you're out of arrows anybody WILL pull.

DO NOT fall off the ramp. If you don't die from the falling damage, you'll die from the aggro at the bottom unless you're lucky and land at a certain spot (usually a group there) with 10hp left. You'll get a rezz if anybody's in the area. You might also get a group at the same time.

Well, that's all the info I could think of.. hope it helps some of you.
CORUSCATING MINES, NOT SPRAGGON DEN

where this dungeon is not.
# Nov 22 2001 at 4:48 PM Rating: Default
Sprag den between Howth and Ardagh behind the tower is not this dungeon.

Koalinth Caverns - in the Cliffs of Moher by the wraiths (not itemized btw) is not it.

Muire - on top of the hill to the left of Ardee (begineers dungeon) is not it.

Treibh - in the Bogg which is reached from a horse from howth and Connla to Innis is not it.
Spraggon Den

Tyashin, that is Spraggon Den you are referring to, not the mines. They are very different and will not find root worms in the mines.
Mine entrance
# Nov 09 2001 at 2:08 PM Rating: Default
This dungeon is not close to Ardagh or howth as morgann stated that is the spraggon den, the mine is close to the parth farm near Mag Mell, from the parth farm you go NW until you find the Siabara town where the fury's and pillars spawn. Then when you are looking into the village to your left on the hill you will see the entrance to the mines. Its up on a flat spot so you'll have to run up the hill to locate it but it's really not that far a run from Mag mell or Tir na Nog if you're in that area. Happy hunting and good luck.
Where is it at?

Well let me see why they posted it.. Cause they want information from other on it as well.. The description is not their own it is something Mytic (i would guess) have given them on the dungeon. If you look towards stratics its the same txt.
#Anonymous, Posted: Nov 05 2001 at 11:06 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Thank you for that well written description about the mine (COMPLETELY F*&^ing useless). If you dont have the meat and potatoes, about a place dont post anything until you do. Hint, where the heck is that place, what the heck lives there, perhaps some strategy guides. Dont get me wrong, I dont blame you for not having the info, just hoping you would get it before publishing for no reason. Other then that,,,LLLOOVVEE the site :-)

This description is actually *VERY* informative. It gives me something I very much want to know. A little info on *what* the dungeon is, not just what's in it and the levels, maps, blah, blah..

I want to know *why* the dungeon is there. The Unseelie Court thing has given me a lot of insight into a particular way to play my character and consider her history. So just because you don't like this excellent information, don't complain and say it's useless, knocking the site which is so good in *both* types of information providing.
#Anonymous, Posted: Jan 08 2002 at 7:51 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Actually, I'd have to agree with the original poster. First of all, he didn't rant and bag and degrade and yadda yadda, he expressed the fact that this, like most ANY SITE on a game out there..is in fact..a *SPOILER* site. MEANING: The history is interesting, like reading a chapter from the dark elf trilogy (okay, not that interesting), but the point of coming to a spoiler site is in fact to get pertinent information to game play. The ONLY pertinent information in that description in the light of actually helping you to PLAY THE GAME, is the fact it indicates there are 2 opposing factions.

Now I really see no point putting down a perfectly good resource.

They could of declined to post anything here at all I suppose and then you wouldnt know ANYTHING about level range (Which is only rarely off) or even what kind of monsters to expect.

Instead of taking the time to down something thats worked well why not seek out this dungeon and fill us in on the meat and potatoes. The info has to come from somewhere.

Its easier to talk the talk then to walk it huh.

Just my 2 mithral.

That isn't the entrance to the mines, that is the entrance to the Spraggon Den, a lvl 20-30 zone. I'm afraid the mines' are a bit further away, near the frontier. Deeper in you'll find Earth sprites, rocks sprites...and given the name Spraggons, some are neutral while the guards to the inner chambers are aggro (and pretty high level too).

I went down there today with a pre-organized group of 8, all around 10 or 11 (and in my own defence, they said "we're going to a dungeon, want to come?"). We tried to pull a rot worm and two came, then before you could say "93 damage", 5-6 group members died and the others zoned. This may be one of the easier to find dungeons, but don't let it fool you. Just move along and find the tomb if you want any low-level dungeon crawling.
#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 17 2001 at 1:01 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Entrance is in a large pile of boulders in the floor of a valley west of the watchtower between Ardagh and Howth, not far from the Spriggonnoll (sp) Hut on the hill at the north end of the valley. After zoning in, the first thing I saw down the shaft was a Root worm. Neutral and Purple to me at 11. I din't explore any further at that time.

Is everyone in this forum retarded? People consistanly point out exactly where the Mines are then theres constantly a bunch of retards who keep telling us about the root worms and spraggons they see and how they're confused.

Take a horse to East Lough Derg from Ardee, and jump off right after the little curmudgeon village by the water (not far past mag mel). Head east, keeping the zone wall on your left, always on your left: hug the wall. Keep following it, that's it, keep going. Eventually, you'll stumble into Valley of Bri Leith zone. Keeeeeep hugging that zone wall, don't lose track of it! Not long after zoning, you'll come across the mine. -This- is CM, -not- Muire, TC, SpragDen etc...
