Birk's Strength Sleeves

I recently got these for my Skald, and it's now +9 Str, no hitpoints. Pretty damn good Str item, it's a pity they start to green out in the 20's and you need to upgrade the AF. :(

Hi, I just wanted to say that I got the sleeves at some point in my wanderings but have no idea what dropped them, had thought it was from nisse lair until i saw this post.

What I can say is that I know for a fact that I didn't go to the island mentioned in the above postings and kill the named mob. Just thought I'd mention it, he may wander the countryside where I possibly ran into him...

So there is alot more to these sleeves than currently listed.

Here is how I did this. I am a Kobald Hunter, I just turned level 15. I made my way to Hugginfell (the town viewable from Dvalin). From Hugginfell you can get a horse ride to Uppland (in Svasud Faste). When the ride is over go back down the hill where the lake is and you will see an island. Late at night a bunch of "Hobyahs" spawned on the island. They are like ghost Hobgoblins. Blue to a level 15, easy kills.

I waited until midnight gametime, and to my dismay no Birk spawned. Frustrated I started taking out the Hobyas (from the water, mind you, I never stepped foot on the island, I do not know if that has anything to do with it). I killed a few Hobyas, then I killed the Hobyah directly in the center of the island, immediately Birk spawned. Note: I did not kill ALL the Hobyas, so killing them all is not the trick. Now I am not saying that killing this Hobyah in the center will trigger the spawn either, its just what happened in my case. Also, it was about 2:45AM when Birk spawned. It could be random, who knows, but its ok to kill Hobyahs -- in fact, I encourage it :-)

Birk started walking into the water NE toward the shore. He con'd blue to me at 15, and when I fought him, was about the same difficulty as the Hobyas themselves. When Birk fell, the sleeves automatically appeared in my invetory.

Birk spawns on the the small island w/the obelisk in the lake northern mularn. Follow the road to Uppland. the lake will be on your right.
I havent had him spawn, but i just learned this, supposedly he wont spawn if anyone is standing on the island. so stand in the water and wait for him.
He spawns around midnight.
