Seek the Moonstone

DISCLAIMER: Your Steps and Tasks may be different Characters that were created after Patch Version 1.79 do not receive this Epic quest. Per patch 1.70: - Seek the Moonstone - The area around Macnol's tower has been named the Ruined Tower of Tir na mBeo to help players locate the correct place. 1. Speak to your trainer in Tir na Nog. He/she will tell you to speak to Fagan in Mag Mell. 2. Speak to Fagan in Mag Mell and get the quest. He gives you a ring and tells you to talk to Macnol in the ruined tower of Tir na mBeo. 3. Go to Ardee and take the horse route to East Lough Derg. Head north towards the grove of trees. There will be many Dergans. Macnol spawns inside the tower, loc: 59280, 13895. The towers entrance is on the north side and he is surrounded by several guards. Do not kill any of the Dergans or you will take a faction hit and Macnol will not talk to you. Be sure to be wearing Fagan’s ring. 4. If the Dergan are already aggressive to you, head south to find Curmudgeons. The best place to hunt is the Curmudgeon campsite southeast of the Parthanan Farm. Keep hunting Curmudgeon until you are neutral to the Dergan. It may take many kills. I believe killing the Curm leader, Hughar, in the campsite will move your faction significantly. This is unproven but the Dergan were neutral to me right after killing him. 5. Talk to Macnol. He’ll ask you to go kill Nock, a named Sheevra. 6. From the parthanian farm, head further south. Eventually you will come to a single stone hut with a cart close by. In this camp you see normal Sheevra Fighters and Archers. Nock spawns inside the hut (loc=54441,924). Kill him and get his head. Sheevra are also Siabra so don’t kill any of them. Just pull out Nock and kill him.(has been seen on the dergen island at loc 40776, 54122) 7. Back to Macnol. If the Dergan are aggressive to you again, go back and kill Curms until they aren’t. Wear your ring. 8. Give the head to Macnol. He will thank you and then attack you so be ready. His guards will defend him so either come with a group or be ready to run. 9. Go back to Mag Mell and talk to Fagan, then give him the signet ring. You will get the ring back, and two more quest paths will open up. Journal says you should talk to the Old or the Crone. Neither are named but the Old is Merle the Old and the Crone is Maeve the Crone. Merle is behind Howth on a hill and that quest is Merle's Informant. You must complete Merle’s Informant before talking to Maeve. Maeve the Crone is between Ardee and the mudman spot in a hut. Maeve will respond, but if you’re less than level 20 at this point, she’ll ask you to return when you are stronger. Official hint (from Camelot Herald): Reward: |

DON'T FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS ABOVE! its much easier and safer to just raise you faction with the siabras. if you do what this guy says you'll be lucky ot even survive the initial attack on the camp, much less finnish the quest anytime soon. just kill curmudgeons til the siabra are neutral to you then walk right through the camp to macnol, piece of cake. also at the end of the quest when macnol attacks you he'll be the only one you'll have to fight(unless you in a group in which case one dergan will attack each member of your group). Cennai is near Innis, so if he is near Cennai he must be near Innis, but I guess it is a question of perspective :p
Approx loc 42k, 10k, just to the left in the trees where the road forks from Cennai to Innis... usually surrounded by Gurites... if he is not with the Gurites in the trees.. try killing some of the Gurites...

The Tracker is not near IC he is standing under a tree just across the path from Mag Mel.
The NPC named "Tracker" outside Mag Mell is for "Mild Decption" quest...
The name of the Tracker for this quest is called "Tracker Tremain" and can be found in Innis as posted below.

Sorry, that should be "Dergans", not Siabras. The only mobs that I see around the tower are dergan furies. Another question, does anyone know what will raise your faction with them?

Kill about 30 curdmudgeons to make the dergans neutral to you
There are many that raises the faction with Siabras (even though now given their local names; Dergan, Eriu, Moheran, etc... they still faction as Siabras), but the two that spring to mind are Curmudgeon and Empyrean (watchers, guardians, sentinels etc, and not orbs or wraiths)...

I was wondering if, as an Enchanter, you can wait until the Siabras around Macnol con grey to you? That way they wouldn't aggro on you when you try to speak with him. Does this work? Or will you be too high of a level to finish the quest by that point? Just wondering. I appreciate any help anyone can offer.

I've looked all over the Bog for Rory, and as the place is littered with my gravestones, yet I can't seem to find him. Can any give me a /loc or some idea where in the Bog he is? Thanks. Finndeas, Level 34 Champion, Percival server ... in need of a Rory dowser. :)
At the very north of the border with Lough Gur/Bog of Cullen is a small hill, and near the to the entrance to the Sheeroe Hills. Near the top of the hill is Rory in a little tent...

I finished seek the moonstone and go the signet ring, the i finished merle's informent, at lvl thirty i noticed i havnt gotten the next leg of the quest so i looked in my journel and sure enough it said i still need to talk to the old and the crone. What do i say to them? HEy dudes, sorry to bother you again but i need to finish this quest......again........ (anyone know whats wrong)

need help pls... i gve the collar to the dog to speak with them ... before i can pusch [the Moondstone] i have LD and go out... so i come in again and speak aagin with egan the dog.. but he dont do something ...and he have my collar ...in the questinformation stay "seek for the Moondstone" after LD i cant do this now ... pls help what can i do to finish the quest pls

Finally finished the epic (as an enchanter) this evening.
Net results were:
******* Signet Ring - the +3 to int/dex/quickness one.
Master Enchanter's Necklace - Enchanter only - +1 to Light magic, Mana magic and Enchantments (received from the Tracker in Lough Gur).
******* Staff - Enchanter only - +9 to intelligence, focus bonuses of 26 levels to Light, Mana and Enchantments, and 5 charges of something, I have no clue what. It's a nice deep purple/fuschia color as well. It cons yellow to me at 33.
All in all, the quest wasn't too difficult aside from finding the quest NPC's. I'm just glad to finally have it out of my journal. ;)

I VERY ANNOYED i didnt know what the hell the ******* signet did so droped it and i woz wondering is there ne way that i could get the ring back some how or i cant even start the quest

goddammit, i found rory, wearing ****** ring (im lvl 38) an he talks to me in french (DAMN) and if i klick de white part, nothing happens, what are the words to tell him in english? (german pfreferred) this quest is bugging me since i´m lvl 30 grr

I'm on step 9 of Seek the Moonstone. I've just talked to the hounds, and they told me to find a tracker who went south from a village or something deep in the shannon estuary. My first thought was to get that tracker by IC, killed him twice, but nothing happened. So right now I'm at the siog footpad/pillar camp right outside CM, since it says he's surrounded by footpads/pillars, killed Sloithi, but haven't seen any tracker. Am I at the right location?
The tracker by Innis... at the little outpost of Ceannai, follow the path to Innis, just as it enters the forest, they is a group of footpads/pillers to the left of the path in the trees, the tracker can be found here with two other footpad/pillers attached to him...
He is usually wandering around in that area... but sometimes it requires a few kills of the footpads/pillers...

looking for the tracker near IC anyone have an idea where he might be? in the woods? etc? I have been checking near the fruit stand and around the wooded area and cannot seem to locate him he is supposed to be found in Lough gur somewhere any info on this trackers location would be greatly appreciated thank you in advanced...

I'm on step nine. This board has been very informative about what I came here for (the trackers location).After reading all the threads I have just 1 question.How many steps are there to this quest? From what I've read there's at least step 11 and u have to be 30 b4 the guy will talk to u.Does it ever end?(oops that was 2 questions)

im lvl 33 champ, and i think i finished Seek The Moonstone quest and Merle's Informant it says im on step 8 in Seek The Moonstone quest, and it says (in Merle's Informant here, on this site) that i should've started quest called Find The Moonstone but in my journal it says that im still on Seek The Moonstone, so anyway i need to find some hounds, u get that after talking to kimba, getting the wand and giving it to some dude in caille
any help would be appreciated

I am a level 28 shade, and I've gotten to step 11, which tells me to find Rory. I found Rory but he won't say anything to me. I am wearing ******* ring, and tried saying different things to him but to no avail. Any help would be great. Thanks.

He wont talk to you till your lvl 30, had the same problem and a guildmate (who did the same quest) said he wont talk to you tell your lvl 30

Kimba: go to Ceannai, the tents before Innis, there turn W. leave the mites on your left. after a while there's a forest with large trees. Kimba is in a tree in the middle. whisper her your words.

Easiest way to find Kimba is go to Connla and buy a horse ticket to Culraid there. When the horse arrives at its destination go chat with Kimba inside the treehouse.

Take a horse from Connla to cutraid, Kimba is in the tree house In cutriad..... Cutraid (spelling?) You'll know it when you see it.

trouble finding the ruined tower of Tir na mBeo? - Take a horse from Ardee to Drium Cain, get of at parthfarm SE of magmel. Then simply walk (run i u prefer) NorthEast and you'll c the tower! Good Luck

Macnol can be found north of the Roaine Maidens. The forrest is circular and I found the best area for attack is the east side.
Macnol is surrounded by not 10, but more like 25 DERGANS, NOT Siabras. All conned btw yellow and green at lvl 17 - mostly blue.
This quest is impossible if you do not have good faction with Dergans. Kill Carmudgeons(sp) to get your faction up with the Dergans.
If you do not have good faction with Dergans, do not attempt this quest without help from a MUCH higher lvl character. Even then, it will be difficult as the higher level person cannot kill 20-25 dergans fast enough. In that 20-25, the are horses names Whistlers, all green to me at lvl 17 that cast void spells and can outrun me.
