DISCLAIMER: Your Steps and Tasks may be different

Characters that were created after Patch Version 1.79 do not receive this Epic quest.

Per patch 1.70:

- Seek the Moonstone - The area around Macnol's tower has been named the Ruined Tower of Tir na mBeo to help players locate the correct place.

1. Speak to your trainer in Tir na Nog. He/she will tell you to speak to
Fagan in Mag Mell.

2. Speak to Fagan in Mag Mell and get the quest. He gives you a ring and
tells you to talk to Macnol in the ruined tower of Tir na mBeo.

3. Go to Ardee and take the horse route to East Lough Derg. Head north
towards the grove of trees. There will be many Dergans. Macnol spawns inside
the tower, loc: 59280, 13895. The towers entrance is on the north side and he is surrounded by several guards. Do not kill any of the Dergans or you will take a faction hit and Macnol will not talk to you. Be sure to be wearing Fagan’s ring.

4. If the Dergan are already aggressive to you, head south to find Curmudgeons. The best place to hunt is the Curmudgeon campsite southeast of the Parthanan Farm. Keep hunting Curmudgeon until you are neutral to the Dergan. It may take many kills. I believe killing the Curm leader, Hughar, in the campsite will move your faction significantly. This is unproven but
the Dergan were neutral to me right after killing him.

5. Talk to Macnol. He’ll ask you to go kill Nock, a named Sheevra.

6. From the parthanian farm, head further south. Eventually you will come to a single stone hut with a cart close by. In this camp you see normal Sheevra
Fighters and Archers. Nock spawns inside the hut (loc=54441,924). Kill him and get his head. Sheevra are also Siabra so don’t kill any of them. Just pull out Nock and kill him.(has been seen on the dergen island at loc 40776, 54122)

7. Back to Macnol. If the Dergan are aggressive to you again, go back and
kill Curms until they aren’t. Wear your ring.

8. Give the head to Macnol. He will thank you and then attack you so be
ready. His guards will defend him so either come with a group or be ready to
run.

9. Go back to Mag Mell and talk to Fagan, then give him the signet ring. You will get the ring back, and two more quest paths will open up.

Journal says you should talk to the Old or the Crone. Neither are named but
the Old is Merle the Old and the Crone is Maeve the Crone. Merle is behind
Howth on a hill and that quest is Merle's Informant. You must complete
Merle’s Informant before talking to Maeve. Maeve the Crone is between Ardee
and the mudman spot in a hut. Maeve will respond, but if you’re less than
level 20 at this point, she’ll ask you to return when you are stronger.

Official hint (from Camelot Herald):
  • Remember to wear Fagan's Signet!!

  • Reward:
      Fagan's Signet Ring

Going to try and give you dir's to her, from the outpost go down the road S past the glowing stone till you see the treeline, skirt that to your right <not sure of the compass heading> till you see two fallen trees. From there keep following the treeline I think it's SW or SE, beware the agro's that wander. You will reach a dip in the land and then see a small hillock just inside the wooded area, from that point you have to find a single fallen tree that's down in the forrest below. If you can spot that tree and avoid the agro's then you will see the tree where Kimba is, it looks just like the tree outside of Ardagh.

    Good luck!

    Different Quest for Eldritch

At level 15, Eldritch's get Secret of Nadua's Silver quest. From what I've read, it's a bit similar to this one, with some nice rewards along the way.

    1) More than likely you will con hostile to Siabres, check and if so you probably need some friends to help you complete this part.

2a) You must kill all, and I repeat all the Siabres in the camp without agroing Macnol. Have a friend check and pull, if necessary, any new spawns of siabres that pop.

    or

2b) Have a friend pull Macnol out of camp and follow him. Once Macnol has lost interest in your friend, he will start walking back to the camp.

    3) Once there are NO siabres around him and you are wearing the ring, he will NOT agro you if you walk up to him. Right click and he will send you off to step 2 of your quest.

You will have to repeat this part of the quest again in step 3. However, this time Macnol WILL agro you when you give him the item he asked for. So be prepared!

    Lvl cap
    # Nov 13 2001 at 11:50 PM Rating: Decent
There really is no level cap for this quest. It is your epic and for bards at least your trainer in TnN gives it to you as soon as you finish all other quest she gave you.

She didnt give me this quest until I was lvl 23 and I tore through the lvl 15 part, finished the 20 part, recently and after much time and death finished the 25 part and am now about to go talk to the guy who says that until I am not strong enough to continue.

But the main quest has still remained the same. You just get subquests at each turn you must complete to go further with the epic. :)

(Btw dont accidently destroy your ****** signet ring like a friend of mine did) :(
    Epic finished
    # Nov 13 2001 at 6:35 PM Rating: Default
I just finished this quest at 30. I recieved ******* Staff as the epic reward for the Enchanter. If you see someone walking around with a purple staff, it should be the epic enchanter one. The blue one is for Eldritches I believe.

It was fun to finish and the reward is well worth it. I won't spoil anything though heh heh. Just you wait!

If Macnol is kos to you heres what to do. Have a friend pull him away from the others by hitting him and running away, make sure you are not groupped with your friend or Macnol will attack you. Once your friend is far enough away, Macnol will return to his spot. On his way back you need to run up to him and talk to him. Click the highlighted text as fast as you can and dont worry about what it says. If he agro's on you either kill him or run away. Check your journal and you should have the next step of this quest to kill Nock and return with his head. Repeat the above steps to turn in Nock's head and return to ***** for your reward.

    i got this at 15 also...started it at 17.
i lucked out because i useto level on crumudgeons, and they RAISE your faction with siabras. kill enought crumudgeons and you can just walk right up to both NPC's without being molested by the siabras (they were neutral to me). unfortunateley, a friend needed help on a quest killing siabras, and my faction is back down. if you got alotta time and in no rus for the quest, just go kill crumudgeons for a while till the siabras are neutral =)
    Macnol's buddies
    # Nov 12 2001 at 7:04 PM Rating: Decent
Hiya, the reason your friend and mine Macnol attacked you was that you had at some recent point agroed one or all of his Siabra friends surrounding the tower. In order to get Macnol to make like Mr. Niceguy uz gotta solo pull all his Siabras surrounding him and nerf their ***** real good. THEN go talk to Macnol and do your thang.

Oh, and when ***** told you to where his ring at all times oncehe handed it to you. Well...HE WASN'T KIDDING!! 8)
