Tale of Two Trolls

DISCLAIMER: Your Steps and Tasks may be different You may or may not get this quest. Darrius (kobold in the bar) in Fort Atla, mentions something about a book that he stole from the werewolves in Askheim. It details the history of the werewolves. Also mentions something about a magical crown. He no longer is able to continue the search. He needed cash so he sold the book to 2 trolls. The trolls began fighting over the book and ripped it into 2 pieces. The each parted with a half of the book. He directs you to the first troll in Galplen. He mentions a strange woman that is searching for the book as well. Darrius says, "Greetings friend. Have you heard the news? My wife is due very soon. I am so happy. I am hoping for a wonderful baby girl but I will be happy with just a healthy baby. I have had to give up my studies and [stay home] to watch over my wife." Darrius says, "I have even had to sell some of my most treasured objects to gather money so I will be able to support my family. I am almost saddened that I may never get to journey back to Galplen in search of the crown I [read] about." Darrius says, "Aye, I had this old book and I had managed to translate some of it. It told a story about werewolves and how they came from a far away land to our shores and settled down in the fort of Askheim, in Myrkwood. It also mentioned the leader of the werewolves, a Baron Falwar, has a mystical crown. The crown has been passed down from werewolf leader to leader. At least I managed to earn a few coin from the sale of the book. I [sold it] to two trolls." Darrius says, "It is an interesting story. Would you like to hear more about the tale of two trolls?" Dialog box: Find the two trolls and learn what secrets the old book holds? You have been given the Tale of Two Trolls quest. [Step #1] Learn of the two trolls from Darrius, in Fort Atla. Darrius says, "I guess they were friends until they bought my book. I saw them get angry and they started fighting. They almost crushed me by accident as they [rolled around] the floor. Finally, they tore my poor book in half." Darrius says, "I told them to get out. I was amazed that they wanted their money back because the book was torn up. They are probably somewhere in Gaplen trying to sell someone what is left of the book. I am kind of [glad] I sold the book." Darrius says, "A few days after the trolls bought the book, a strange woman came through town searching for it. She said that an old Runemaster had told her I had it. She seemed really upset when I told her I sold the book and wanted to know [who] bought it." Darrius says, "I told her that the troll called himself Aki and had said he was returning to Galplen. The woman said she studied werewolves and wanted any knowledge the book contained. I told her I didn't know anything else." Darrius says, "Wait! I have an idea." Darrius says, "If you can get the book back from the trolls maybe you can seel her the book. I am sure she will pay quite a few coins for it. It seemed really important to her. I don't understand why anyone would want to study the [werewolves] anyway." Darrius says, "They are cursed. Legend tells of people who could change into forest creatures but only because of their faith. The werewolves can change others into werewolves with but a single cite. That is why I did not mind trying to [steal from them]." Darrius says, "The crown sounds like it could be a worthy prize for someone strong enough to go get it. If I were you, I would go to the stables and get a horse. You can reach Galplen much faster if you ride. Aki should be selling his wares somewhere around town. Talk to him about it." [Step #2] Journey to Galplen and seek out Aki, the troll, for the first half of the book. Aki a troll merchant in Galplen is the first troll. He talks about the book a little and explains that he cant read and will trade you the book for a perfect badger pelt from a woodland badger found in skona ravine. These mobs were blue and yellow to me at 25. These are found near the eastern start of the ravine in Skona.He also mentions that a woman came to him seeking the same book and she is looking for a pelt to get it as well. Bring him the pelt and he gives you the first half of the book. He mentions that the woman came back with a pelt but it was torn to shreds (may be a clue about her origins) and useless to him so he denied her the book. He then directs you to the 2nd troll located in Gna Faste. Some harsh words about his ex-friend end with a comment about hoping that Njesse eats him if he crosses the lake. Kedin a troll merchant in Gna is your second troll. He talks a little about the feud with Aki. He is willing to part with his half of the book if you bring him some oil from a Giant Tree Frog from Skona Ravine. These mobs conned blue to me at 25. They are found near the stonehedge type place. Bringing him the oil earns you his half of the book. He directs you to the mysterious woman near the werewolf fort of Askheim. You may be sent to kill some drakes instead. I found the young drakelings at loc = 5.5k, 61k. Im a lvl 25 zerker and they coned btm. Was by 2 broken egg mounds over by skona. Alina is found east of Askheim along the shore (loc=23935, 49671, 5110). Give her the books and she details some history of the werewolf colony. She also regrets that you know of the magical crown and challenges you to confront her after sunset eluding that she is a werewolf. At about the 20th hour she will despawn. After a few mins I began looking around to find her so am unsure of her spawn location. She wanders around as Noble Werewolf Alina. She was blue to me at 25. Kill her and her dying words are something about Baron Falwur having the crown but you better bring an army if you wish to have the crown. Baron Fulwar is located in the Werewolf fort of Askheim surrounded by about 5-6 werewolves and minor werewolf nobles. Kill him and you recieve the crown. Baron is BAF so you may need a few people to help take down all the werewolves. The Baron Falwur calls for help! You receive a Woven Crest Crown from Baron Falwur! You have finished the Tale of Two Trolls quest. When I talked with Aki, he asked for an Emerald from a Envy Drake. I can find Envy Drakelings, but they do not drop this item when I kill them - they con grey and seem pretty low-level. Is there an actual Envy Drake soemwhere I don't know about?

You will find envy drakes in the skona ravine.

Did this quest with my Spiritmaster, and the reward was a Woven Crescent Crown.
Don't recall the stats on it though, but it was cloth.

i am lvl26 thane and cant get the quest, am i too high?

The minimum level for this questis listed as 24. Thats problably why you can't do it at 22 : )

Hi have not been able to trigger this quest from Darrius. I sit because I am too high a level (24th) or is it because I am a skald? Is there something I can say to Darrius to trigger the quest?

hmm my skald are now lvl 39...i took the quest at lvl 24, i didnt meet anny of the problems that u had.

I did this quest and got the barbed crescent crown. I got this quest at lvl 22 so I don't think the lvl they list here is correct.
