DISCLAIMER: Your Steps and Tasks may be different

Characters that were created after Patch Version 1.79 do not receive this Epic quest.

At level 7, your guild trainer will give you the traveler's way quest. There are two trainers for each class in Jordheim, the one who you spend your points with and the one that will give you your quest. The description and reward varies by class, but is pretty easy to follow. This results in a decent class-specific magic item.

Note: If you have Shrouded Isles expansion, you may start your epic quests in Aegirhamn and not do this one. See your class page for complete quest listings.

Trainer says, "(your name here), it is time to send you out into the lands beyond ours. Explore these other lands and tell them of our house's good will and [aid those we can]."

Dialog box: Do you wish to explore these lands and aid those in other lands as a sign of our house's good faith?

You have been given the Traveler's Way quest.

Trainer says, "Well then, if you wish to journey these lands, I shall send you to Val. He can be found in the guard tower on the road to East Svealand. Do explore!"

Val is located inside the guard tower in East Svealand at loc 15375, 53282.

Val says, "Aye there. You've come a ways, haven't you now? Spare me [some time], could you?"

Val says, "Just bring me a few of those ant parts; these little ant workers have been everywhere lately. You could rid us of a few, couldn't you now."

He wants you to only kill three army ant workers and return the legs to him. After you have done this he will reward you with coin and send you to Lalida in Fort Atla in Gotar. She is the Skald trainer in Fort Atla.

Lalida says, "You look a traveler from far off. What brings you to [Fort Atla]?"

Lalida says, "Oh. Val must have sent you. I had requested his aid, but it is no longer necessary...but since you've come this way, speak with Ruk. She owes me one, tell her Lalida says hello."

Ruk is a merchant in the building just to the left as you enter Fort Atla. You will have to /say Lalida says hello for her to respond.

Ruk says, "Hello traveler. Can I help you?"

You say, "Lalida says hello."

Ruk says, "Well! I am glad. Here, now don't be telling all your friends I've give you this now."

Is this broken for Spiritmasters?
# Nov 05 2001 at 6:59 PM Rating: Decent
I started in Fort Atla, and stayed there through 7. I went to my trainer and was told "It is time for you to travel to Jordheim to meet the othere trainers of Hel. They will need your services often."

No im thinking this IS my travel quest. But it does not show up as a quest in my Journal. So I head off to Jordheim to get my Travel quest, and have spocken to just about every NPC there, and nothing.

Of course, this is no suprise, I can't get my specialized dark spells for some reason either.

The spiritmaster trainer that gave me this quest was on the 2nd floor of a building in Jordheim (I know, I'm soooo specific hehe). There was another spiritmaster trainer on the 1st floor of this building, but he didn't give me the quest. Maybe that will help you.

On the Darkness issue, I've /appealed it and the answer was that you don't get anything until you're at level 5 in Darkness Specialization. Then all your level 1, 2, etc spells suddenly show up. It's screwy, and probably a bug, but that's how it works.

Adlaine?
# Nov 04 2001 at 10:29 AM Rating: Default
I got the quest from my trainer, and she told me to find Adlaina in the tower west of Mularn... Went to the tower West of Mularn, and she is not there, nor have the guards heard of her.. Everyone I have talked to say they were told to talk to Val.. I tried that and he just smiles at me like an idiot... Anybody else get Adlaine and actually find her?
RE: Adlaine?
# Nov 04 2001 at 11:16 AM Rating: Default
It took me awhile to find out that it's the second tower out of Mularn on the road towards Vasudheim.
RE: Adlaine?
# Nov 12 2001 at 1:58 PM Rating: Decent
Agreed It is the second tower. Adlaine will send you to another named guard (Sveck i think)in the guard tower just across the bridge at Audlien.
He will ask you for 3 Sveawolf skins.
I got the quest at level 7 and completed it at level 8. (leveled while looking for Adlaine.)
As a level 8 Dwarven Thane, the Sveawolf mothers were grey and easy kill. The skin loots automatically into your inventory once you have the quest.
Give the 3 skins to guard Sveck and he will give you some silver and exp then send you into Aulien to speak with another NPC who awards you with
a chest piece with +2 to quickness.
I do not remember the exact name of the armor piece or the other NPC, but the armor is red colored on your character and yellow armor rating at level 8.
Easy quest, just misleading on the first NPC.

I started this quest out of Jordheim at level 7. I was asked to spread the good will of the House of Ymir. The first leg of the quest involved a trip to see Val in East Svealand. He can be found in a guardtower east of Dvalin, a small town on the southern side of East Svealand. After killing 3 worker ants for their legs, he directed me to Lalida at Fort Atla. She did not have anything for me to do, but asked me to say hello to Ruk (also found in Fort Atla). Ruk requires a prompt; <Lalida says hello>. After that he will give you the ring of health, +2 piety, +2 constitution. A little leg work, but not a bad ring for 7th level.

# Oct 29 2001 at 3:12 PM Rating: Default
I don't know if it is for the epic or not, but I have gotten the impression that there is a lead trainer and an assistant trainer in Jordheim. Each class has two trainers in Jordheim, but it seems some quests only come from one of the two. So try talking to both trainers and see if that works.
Sveawolf Mothers

For the version that takes you to Audliten, where can you find some Sveawolf mothers??
RE: Sveawolf Mothers
# Oct 28 2001 at 12:32 AM Rating: Decent
I found them in the hills just north of the fort across the bridge from Audliton. They also wander along the area across the bridge east of Audliton
RE: Wher is Val
# Oct 23 2001 at 1:32 PM Rating: Decent
Val is in the fort near Dvalin half way between Audliten and Fort Atla, just follow the road in that direction and you should find the tower.
To see stats on items...

click on the item, it should show up where your health is shown.

Then hit Shift+I and it will show you further info on the item. This is in the manual, but many people missed it.

Adriane
# Oct 19 2001 at 6:49 PM Rating: Default
Does anyone know where Adriane is? I am a member of the Healer quest and my trainer asked me to find Adriane when I attempted to begin this quest. I am pretty sure that she said that she is near Audliten in the guard tower but I can't find her there. Any other Healers out there find her?
RE: Adriane
# Oct 20 2001 at 1:23 PM Rating: Default
I also was told to find Adriane to begin this quest. I found her outside Mularn, inside the second fort you pass on the road on the way to East Svealand. Go inside the fort and around the wall in front of you to the right. You will see a ramp leading up a short ways to a room. Adriane was in there. Right click on her and she tells you what you need to do for your class quest. I am a skald.

That's strange, I just finished the quest last night and I was told to find Val as the first step and I am playing a Healer. He is in the south most tower in East Svealand(you can see it on the map). He asks you to kill 3 army ants and then sends you to Fort Atla to talk to someone there. She then tells you to say something specific to a merchant in the town. You have to /say exactly what you see in the brackets in your quest journal when you are standing next to her. She then gave me a ring +2 con, +2 piety. Hope this helps.

When you talk to Ruk make sure you say out loud

[Lalida says hi]. exactly as it is written in your quest journal. When you do that, Ruk will give you the appropriate item.
Nothing happens when I talk to Ruk

I finished part one with Val, then went and talked with Lalida. She said to talk to Ruk, but then nothing happened. She just trys to sell me something. Am I doing something wrong??

5% Bonus

The 5% bonus is to your total AF, if you have AF 100 and have an item with a 5% bonus you will then have AF 105.
Sveck
# Oct 18 2001 at 5:13 AM Rating: Decent
could anyone please tell me where Sveck is for the healer part of this quest?
RE: Sveck
# Oct 18 2001 at 12:33 PM Rating: Default
Sveck is in the guard tower across the bridge north from Auditlen (the tower you go past on your way from Auditlen to Vasudheim).
RE: Sveck
# Oct 18 2001 at 5:18 PM Rating: Decent

Sveck is definitely in the tower north side of bridge from Auditen - saw him there lsast night., If you go into tower he should be on your right by far wall.

in regards to the ruby studded tunic, the 5% bonus is unknown, but the tunic also added 5 to my hp at lvl 7 when i recieved and completed the quest as a Kobold skald <shrug> maybe that's the 5% bonus, is to your hp.

Val is located in the southern tower in East Sveaheim. There are two towers, one near Vasudheim and one near Haggerfell. The southern one is the one you want.

The Thane reward is the Ruby Studded Jerkin. It's red, but can be dyed to whatever color you want.

Funny how AF works
# Oct 15 2001 at 12:05 PM Rating: Default
I received a ruby tunic af14, quick+2, normal absorption of 19%. It also lists 5% bonus ?? Not sure what that means.

Here's the funny part:

I had a regular studded AF 10 tunic giving me a total of AF50 at lvl 8.

When I put on this AF14 tunic, I now have a total of AF64. What's with that or is it fogetting to subtract the 10 from the tunic that I replaced??

Also what is the 5% bonus?
RE: Funny how AF works
# Nov 08 2001 at 10:16 PM Rating: Default
If its gives you an unknown 5%, and yours AF mysteriously is higher when u wear it, it must give you 5% bonus to AF?
Recieved coin too
# Oct 14 2001 at 10:08 AM Rating: Default
I recieved a little over 2 silver about halfway through the Skald's quest.
