DISCLAIMER: Your Steps and Tasks may be different Per patch 1.69: - Sveabone Hilt Sword - Players between levels 1 and 11 that have completed this quest may now return to Gridash in East Svealand and receive money as part of the new reward for this quest. Gridash will now give money as part of the reward for this quest. Per patch 1.76: - Sveabone Hilt Sword - Players can now find low level Sveawolf cubs on the northern edge of Vasudheim. Talk to Gridash in Vasudheim who is directly off the path leaving Vasudheim towards the road, he will tell you about the sword. He will tell you to buy a bronze short sword and to get a sveabone tooth. The short sword can be bought from the local sword merchant named Gyda, who is located directly SW of the Jordheim bridge. And the tooth can come from any sveabone wolf, from baby cub to mother. Give him both and he gives you the sword. Gridash says, "Hail young one! I have noticed that you do not carry one of my fine [bone hilt swords]." Gridash says, "Aye! They are some of my finest works! I don't suppose you [would care for one] eh?" Dialog box: Will you do what is asked so that Gridash can make a Sveabone hilt sword? You have been given the Sveabone Hilt Sword quest. Gridash says, "Oh great then! Run along and buy me a bronze short sword. I should be ready once you return." [Step#1]Buy a bronze short sword and return it to Gridash Gridash says, "Good work! I cannot seem to find anymore sveawolf teeth to fashion your weapon. Find one and return it to me." [Step #2]Kill a sveawolf and return to Gridash with it's tooth. Go kill any sveawolf, return with the tooth, should drop in your backpack with the first kill. You receive a sveawolf tooth from the young sveawolf! [Step #3]Return to Gridash in East Svealand with a sveawolf tooth. You give Gridash the sveawolf tooth. Gridash says, "Here is your completed work. I hope it serves you well!" You receive a Sveabone Hilt Sword from Gridash! You have finished the Sveabone Hilt Sword quest. You are awarded 20 experience! You are awarded 4 silver and some copper! Reward: |

I got the thing the other day and now when o check for stats on it I get it has a spell effect (it list castin time and everthing, sayes it useable on self) is this just a glich or something? ,,,thanks

I cant get the quest to work on my lvl 6 kobold rougue Shadowblade
he just stand there and stares at me.. tried to buy the sword and give it to him, but he wont accept it... whats wrontg ... has anyone had the same problem ? if so.. what did they do about it ?

Look at the maximul level need to attain the quest. Its 5, and you are 6 so it wont work. If you are really desperate start over.

I believe that you can get this quest only at level 3. May still be an option at level 4, but I'm fairly sure level 5+ can not get it. When I got it at level 3 I had already bought a bronze ******* sword which did far more damage. I used this sword anyway for a couple of levels, now it sits in the vault collecting dust.

I am a level 6 dwarf healer. When I try to buy the bronze sword it tells me that I cannot use this item, do I want to buy it anyway. I accept and it then tells me that that item number wasn't on the list. I've gone to a couple of blade sellers and they all say the same thing. Help.

Don't do it, you can't use a swords as a healer...
Besides, the sword isn't really that good anyway, you'll level up to 7-8 in no time and then the sword is useless.

Thanks for replying :) Actually, I had to do it because I had the quest. I did it by draging the weapon down to "buy" instead of highlighting the weapon and pressing "buy." I am now looking for a newbie to give the sword to. :)

I am a level 5 shadowblade, and after traveling all the way to Vasudheim to do the quest, Gridash just sits there and stares at me. Is there a level limit to the quest, or does Gridash just have a thing for sitting there silently?
I had my level 7 bezerker try to do this last night (been trying since level 5) and have yet to receive the quest. Is it busted or do bezerkers not get it?

The quest wasn't nerfed. Damage was displayed properly in the last patch.
I just did this quest tonight, the guy stand near the stable master. But the reward was a DPS2.1 Spd2.4 sword labeled as above, Sveabone hilt sword. Unless there is more than one reward, this quest got nerfed.
Also, I could not do this quest with my level 9 Thane, nor my friend with his Level 8 warrior. I created a new Norse Viking and did it. So the level range is reduced a bit now too.

The description above lists the damage, not the DPS. It wasn't untill the recent patch that items show DPS. If you do the math, you will see that it is still the same.

I got my tooth from a blue sveawolf mother at 6th level.

I just did this quest yesterday with a level 3 mystic and killed a cub to get the tooth. And I only had to kill one cub to get it.

I did this quest at lvl 6. The pup and young variety of sveawolf did not drop the tooth. I had to kill a sveawolf (just plain, no pup, young, or mother prefix). Don't know if drop is random or level controlled, because my wife's character got the drop off a pup with a lvl 3 character.

I believe items don't drop of creatures if they are gray....that is why you needed to kill a higher level wolf to get it. I killed a pup at lv 1 to get it...

I'm not sure if anyone noticed but when i did this quest with my troll shaman I lost 1 constitution. Got the message with the quest completion messages in text window. Am I the only unlucky one?

I killed a Sveawolf Cub and did not get the drop, so I killed a Young Sveawolf next to it and did get it. Must be random.

Its becuase the Sveawolf Cubs don't drop it, and the young sveawolfs do :)

I've done this quest many times and I've always just gone and killed the first Svewolf CUB I saw and got the tooth immediatly. It's an automatic drop into your backpack.
Please believe me. 4 times on this quest for me now.

To all those people that are trying to say that there is a specific Sveawolf that you need to kill...YOUR NUTS!! All you have to do is GET THE QUEST, GET THE SWORD FROM ARMORER, GIVE THE SWORD TO GRIDASH, GET THE NEXT STEP OF THE QUEST FROM GRIDASH, GO KILL THE FIRST SVEAWOLF YOU SEE (it will automatically give you the tooth needed) GIVE THE TOOTH TO GRIDASH, and then say thank you!
I have done this quest 3 seperate times and twice for friends and newbies. as long as you follow the STEPS, you should not have a problem getting the tooth from any Sveawolf (cub to mother and beyond).

I also got the tooth the first time. My steps were exactly the same as the post above (the guy who yelled at everyone) :-)
I agreed with him that if you get the quest in the right order, you should get the required item on the first kill. Just my experience so far.

The first Sveawolf you see DOES NOT automatically give you the tooth. If it did for you then you got lucky. Sometimes it is the second or third, and I have gotten it from a Sveawolf cub and a young sveawolf.

I did this quest and although I simply enjoy completing quest this sword really didn't do me any good. Its a fine weapon for lower level characters which by the way I gave it to a lower level guy just walking in the woods. He was so happy I thought he was going to hump my leg.
Do all the quests. If you don't like the item, give it to a newbie. Support them anyway you can. The faster they level up, the better it is for our realm. The realm raids are going to start happening, everyone needs to do their part...

Did this quest at level 11. Was pretty much a waste of time since the sword is useless to me. I got the tooth from a grey cub (way grey). It dropped no problem. Not sure what you others are doing wrong, but I have never had a problem with greys dropping quest items automatically. As long as the quest it listed in my journal, I get the items.

Just before restarting my character, since I messed up my trade skills, I was lvl 10 and I got the quest and walked just out side the city of Vas and killed a cub and got tooth right off the bat and I got the sword, although it was grey to me.
After restarting my character I did it again but this time I killed a young sveawolf(cubs woudn't drop it for me) and got it... so just try them all is my suggestion. Might be random if it comes from Cub, Young or mother... but do to lvl of this sword I think it's logicaly limited to cubs and young. Just keep trying.

After restarting my character I did it again but this time I killed a young sveawolf(cubs woudn't drop it for me) and got it... so just try them all is my suggestion. Might be random if it comes from Cub, Young or mother... but do to lvl of this sword I think it's logicaly limited to cubs and young. Just keep trying.

I think the level range on this quest is too large. My level 7 skald did this quest last night and when she acquired the sword, it was green. Since she is already using an iron longsword, the only thing she got from this quest was finding out that, if you kill a gray mob for a quest item, the item isn't dropped. All the sveawolves around Vasudheim were gray and after killing 3 of them without acquiring the requisite tooth, she went to the sveawolf mothers area where the mothers conned green. Those gave, not only the tooth for this quest, but also the sveawolf mother pelts for the level 7 equipment quest.

I did this quest as a mystic and i don't recommend it to anyone without the skill to use it.. I spent my money and time and in the end I can't use it nor is it worth selling..I believe this quest should be class specific.

Location of the tooth:
Just outside of Vasudheim, headed west, on the right side of the road, there is a small island with a bunch of newbie sveabone wolves. There is a large sveabone wolf that spawns on the island from time to time. This is the one to kill for the tooth.
I did this at level 3 or 4 (cant remember which). The regular wolves were green or blue. The large one was yellow.
Hope this helps.
