DISCLAIMER: Your Steps and Tasks may be different

Characters that were created after Patch Version 1.79 do not receive this Epic quest.

Per patch 1.75:
- Roane Skin - Slevin has relocated to the barn at the parthanan farm in east Lough Derg.

- Roane Skin - Resa has relocated to the northern coast of the lake in Lough Derg, north of the parthanan farm and can be found among the other roane maidens there.

- Roane Skin - Hazard has moved to a circle of stones to the west of the town of Tir na mBeo in Lough Derg.

Your steps and tasks may vary, these are only a couple...

You are asked to go to the village of Connla and speak with one of the people there in hopes of getting more information about this Roane named Resa.

From there you are sent across the first wood and stone bridge to the guard tower to speak with Slevin, loc: 22869,31225, about Resa's location, north of the Parth. Farm, loc=54789, 9468

Here she spawns during the early night till the early morning and is surrounded by Siabra Ghosts. Use caution but make your way to her. You learn that a named creature across the stone step bridge has her skin.

The named leprechaun is Hazard. He can be found west of Tir Na Mbeo in a circle of stones loc 17913, 48300. Kill him and you get the skin.

Go back to Resa for your reward. Don't kill Resa, you kill Hazard.

Alternate instructions:
1) Quest received from Nightshade trainer -Blathnaid- (loc: 19447,29297) in Tir Nan Og.

2) Ride horse from Mag Mell to Howth.

3) Get a horse ride from Howth to Innis Carthaig.

4) Jump off the horse after crossing the wooden bridge with stone supports in Shannon Estuary. (loc: 27490,24244)

5) Talk with Slevin (loc: 22869,31225) at the stone guard tower in Shannon Estuary(Daingean).

6) Swim NW across the river directly to Kiara (loc: 9178,27180)in Connla.

7) After talking with Kiara run North (keep river on your right)along the river for a long way until you see the stepping stone bridge (loc: 26341,57958) in Silvermine Mts.

8) Turn North once again (keep river on your left) and a little ways up the beach and just inside the treeline there is a mushroom circle. (loc: 31728,49882) **This is across the river from Howth**

9) I found Hazard just west of Tir Na Mbeo in a circle of stones loc=17913, 48300

10) Hazard /con Blue to level 11 Nightshade and was easy solo kill. There were no adds and he didn't yell for help.

11) Return the Roana Skin back to Kiara in Connla.

12) Kiara gives you the boots and goes running off to the SE.
______________________________________

Another option for steps 7 & 8:
step #7 you run north on the ocean until it doesnt go anymore, there you should see resa.

step #8 you need to go connla and get a horse to druim legean, you ride until you get to howth, then jump there, swim across the water, and there is the mushroom ring there Hazard, and there are adds... they are green to me at lvl 11 and hazard is yellow to me.

13th level Bard Got the +Cha +Power Gem
    # Jan 28 2002 at 4:22 PM Rating: Default
But I'd much rather have the + Music ring! Have any other Bards out there done this quest and been able to get both items? Can you go back to the Slevin maybe and take the less interesting quest (the NON drug smuggling quest that results in a damn fine ring?)

I'll be bummed if I'm stuck with the gem because I didn't pass up the quest until I was higher level. Punctuality shouldn't be punished. ;p

I went accross the rock bridge, most people say that hazard is by the mushrooms, well I cant find that stupid guy and its driving me insane. I am sitting in the mushrooms after searching all over just waiting for him

He will be there. He took about 20 minutes to spawn. Also, Camped him with a bard partner. We both got the skin, from the same kill! Very nice.

Tip to find Hazard, dont waste time waiting by the mushrooms. I waited like 45 min and walked around that area looking for him and killed spraggots and eirbugs out the wazoo finally i decided to ruin my faction with the Lepricons and after killing only two of them he spawned.

    What about faction?
    # Nov 07 2001 at 11:49 AM Rating: Decent
I recently made the mistake of grouping with a rather bloodthirsty lot who, before I could speak my mind on the issue, proceeded to slaughter several of the roane maidens on the shores to the east of Mag Mell. I foolishly stepped up to aid my new companions, and now the Maidens now are aggressive towards me. I'm concerned that as a result of this I won't be able to complete this quest now.

Can anyone tell me whether I've just allowed these folks to ruin my chance at doing my own epic?

Walkthrough is a little vague, so a bit more information:

Rena is at the very end of the beach, just before the cliff face (And what appears to be a zone wall.) She is surrounded by Siabras at night, however they despawn during the day. Slevin, the guard you spoke with indicates she is around at dusk and dawn, from my experience that is falsity, she was up at high noon when I got there the second time. So time isn't really the issue. Speak with her and she asks you to kill Hazard, then head down to the stepping stones. They're about a minute past the bridge and you really can't miss them. Your journal will say to go left, Rena said to go right, trust your journal. Head left and walk for about a minute and you'll come to a little clearing with lots of lucradan types buzzing around in it, Hazard looks like a normal lucragan, though there are some larger looking ones there. Blue to me at 11, he didn't bring a friend, nor did he call for help, though he might for others. He died in the span of one twilight cast, a ranger shot and a wasp's sting. The guy is a profound pushover, as most quest mobs seem to be at this level.

As a note, when I killed Hazard I lost lepraCHAUN faction, not lucraGAN faction, and I've already killed about ten thousand lucragans, hoping leprachaun isn't another annoying "We are everywhere and annoy you" faction. I really have no idea what bearing this might have in the future.

Then, head back to Rena, and it's finished.

    directions
    # Oct 27 2001 at 5:29 PM Rating: Decent
When i did this, the directions were a bit confusing because of conflicting information from people. Go to connla. Run away from connla (and away from the bridge) and to the beach (don't cross the river) and take a right. Run along hte beach until you get like 20 feet from the cliff. Resa wonders up and down the beach vertically there all the time (so go during hte day so you don't die from nasties). Hazard is a bit more annoying. Go back to connla and run along the river, keeping it to your right (run toward and past the bridge) for a bit. You'll see a hut and beside that is a bunch of rocks in the water. Cross the rocks and go left. In the middle of some mushrooms is hazard :).

Well I got the ReRoute from Slevin at the Guard tower and was sent to Caille with the Powder to talk to Viola, then Viola sent me to Maeve the Crone back in Ardee.
Who turned the brewed potion into a Lvl 4 Magic Item - "NightShade Charm" Hits:6 points and Dex:3 points that goes into the Jewelery Slot.
it replaced the "Shadowed Gem" Dex:2 points and Quick:1 point that I got from the "Mad Sprite" Quest.
I still have the Initiate Boots from lvl 5 , when do they get upgraded?
    RE: Softstep
    # Oct 30 2001 at 3:21 PM Rating: Default
I don't know if anyone has seen this before, but when I started a new nightshade after levelling the first to 11, I swapped ALL equipment over to the new one, including all quest items. So when I did the quest again for the angered sprite I got the same jewel again. Since there's only one spot for jewelry I didn't think I could use it, but I tried equiping it anyway, and amazing enough, it said my quick and dex went up and the item was in still in my inventory! Didn't really understand, but at the same time, I didn't question it either. Maybe with jewelery you can use the effects of items and still have them in the inventory.

Just got level 11 and went to my Bard trainer. She told me to go talk to Slevin at the guard tower just like normal. However, Slevin didn't tell me about Resa, he gave me some powder to take to the Breith Valley town.

Is this a normal part of this quest? Looks like everyone else just got told about Resa. Also seems like the other Bard that posted got the same quest as listed above, not this branch.

Slevin told me to "forget about the Roane's" and said that he "had a more interesting proposition for me."

Anyone else got this path instead?

    Thanks :)

I got this also. I had gotten the Resa part with another toon. I received a Champion's Charm Plusses to dex and Qui I think.

For those of you who dont know how to get to Caille, take a horse to the farm from Ardee, another horse to Durim Ligen and jump off when you see Caille. Run a few min along the path to Durim Ligen when done and catch a horse back.

I completed the quest a bit ago. It does seem a lot like drug running. LOL

Basically you go pick up this super important Empyrean formula from Viola in Caille. The odd thing is (storywise), they last NPC (Maeve the Crone near Ardee) actually just uses the formula to enchant something for you. What was the whole purpose of that?

    Anyway, got a Bard Charm. Gave +Cha, +HP, +Power.

Anyone know who to talk to to get the Resa part of the quest?

    Bard information on this quest
    # Oct 23 2001 at 10:05 PM Rating: Decent
I got this quest from Selia (bard trainer in Tir na Nog) at 17, and did it in about an hour. Run to Howth, and follow the trail until you reach the bridge, go over it and follow the trail just a little bit. You'll get to the guard tower. There talk to Slevin (shield merchant). He tells you a rough idea of where to find Resa. Go back across the bridge and take a left, go to the little town which is Connla. Keep going and take a right when ya hit the water, the only way ya can go without swimming. Follow it all the way down until ya see the siabras. She's usually up on the hill or behind it a tad. Talk to her and get the quest, but watch out for the siabras that were blue to 17. She gives ya the quest. Go back all the way to Howth and go across the stone step bridge next to it. Once across take a left until ya come to the grove of trees next to the water. It's distinctive 'cause it has a mushroom circle. Hazard is usually up. If he's not just kill lucraduanes and their counterparts. He'll spawn soon. Kill him, take the skin back to Resa, ta da! Ring of Song, +2 music skill, +1 cha! Worth it to any Bard!

    Hope this helped.

I did this quest also except I recieved it at lv 11 and instead of returning the skin to Resa I had to return it to Kiara, a merchant in Connla. When I did, to my surprise, Kiara shapeshifted into this mermaid type creature and ran into the sea! Anyways, Reward was Ring of Song as you posted, excellent item, glad i did the quest :)

I do not understand. It seems from the various conversation paths here, that upon leveling one should receive that new level's equivalent Quests. Correct? Or at least sometime during that level, it appears that people get tasks from their Trainers.

My Druid Trainer has given no Quests to date. Any small mediocre quests I have done so far all have originated outside in the surrounding villages. Quests- not Tasks.

Do you initiate Quests any way other than talking with your Trainer? Like a Task? I do all the right clicking, but have gotten nothing yet. I am currently level 12, having made it last night. Upon arrival at my Tir Na Nog Trainer I got nothing but skill points training.
