DISCLAIMER: Your Steps and Tasks may be different Per patch 1.75b: - The Hunt for Arachneida - This Campacorentin Forest quest is now set for players between levels 20 and 30. The rewards have been adjusted to include a plate mail reward for Armsmen or Paladins. Talk to Kealan, in Campacorentin Station, and he asks you to kill a Giant spider named Arachineida and you have to kill a bloated spider first to get a Bloated spider fang and then you have to kill Arachneida who spawns with the bloated spiders. You do not have to go back till you have both fang and Chitin. The Bloated spiders and Arachneida can be found just East of Caer Ulywuch, right past the undead druids and ghostly knights. Although the reward for mages is a robe, your current level determines the AF factor. Example, is that my lvl 14 sorceror got a rob with AF 14, but my lvl 17 wizard got a robe with AF 18. Not that its a huge difference since a mage you try not to get into melee, but you may want to consider it before doing the quest. The quest is easy, but I recommend bringing a friend or 2 if you do it at lvl 14

Level of item theory incorrect, I just did this quest at level 17 and got the robe, it con'd blue. Was pretty bummed. Don't get me wrong, the robe is nice, I was just hoping for something a little higher so it would be useful for more levels.

I'm a Cabalist, Level 14. I need to get a strand of spider silk from a bloated and then the claw from Arachinae. I've beeen killing Yellow and the occasional Red Large Bloated Spiders all afternoon. How many does it usually take to get them to drop?

Kill bloated spiders...not large bloated spiders. 2 different mobs

Check your inventory - quest items usually auto-appear in inventory.

Anyone who is of level to do this quest should certainly know what and where Camp Station is. The full name is Campocertin Station and it's a small settlement located, not coincidently, deep in the Campocertin Forest. Good Luck

I went back and did this quest. As an infiltrator I got a leather tunic:
+2 Dex
+2 Str
+6 HP
AF 26
ABS 10%

After finishing the quest I received the following (which conned yellow at 14):

is the NPC's name that starts it. And yes, as someone else pointed out, he is right next to the tower in Camp Station.

It seems the Robe my have been nerfed I recieved the Robe 2 days ago. The Robe is now AF 14 making it con yellow at lvl 14 putting it more in line as an item for the lvl it can be recieved at.

As mentioned by an earlier poster, the location of the spider camp is ~ 52000, 29000... Use the /loc command to hunt it down. It's east-south-east of Lenthanis Station.
When you arrive the giant spider may or may not be present. The spider camp is loaded with bloated spiders. If Arachinae isn't there you'll have to go on a spider killing rampage to bring her out. You'll know if she's there! She's huge, and there is no missing her. She is about 5 times the size of a normal bloated spider.
At level 15 the bloated spiders are green and arachinae is blue. Cabalists don't need a group to kill her. Just send your pet in on a suicide mission. Classes without an expendable meat shield will probably need a group if they attempt this at level 15.

The start NPC name is Kell.* - not the reported Kearn. One of the earlier posts has an accurate position, behind one of the fences next to a wall.

First off, I'm 21st, and got the standard item. However, the quality, con, and dur were all 100%, so your level may make a difference in this area.

FYI to everybody, it seems the higher you are the higher reward you get. A friend that was 17 did this quest and it gave him a Spider Silk Robe that was yellow to him. I did this at 21 and got the same result, the robe was yellow to me. Hope that helps. Perhaps you should wait until you are higher. :)

That isnt necessarily true... I got the Throatripper tunic at like level 4 or 5 (I don't remember exactly) and it was yellow to me - I kept it for 2 more levels, and it was still yellow to me. Seems that quest items may count as a level range, rather than a specific level - makes sense to me, also, because that way you can keep using the quest reward for a long enough time to make it worthwhile.

no quest item do go blue green and grey with time just like regular items.
keep in mind items don't have a color change in con every level. if i bought or found or was awarded a yellow weapon at 3rd level it would probably be yellow until 4th or 5th blue for 2 or 3 levels etc...
at higher levels the gaps are larger.. i buy a yellow eapon at 10th level and it's still yellow to me at 14th...

Ringed chain Chitin Tunic 27/28 Str and Dex adds.
Dont know how much of each but well worth it, also its Royal Blue in color. I am a Armsman if that helps.

You must be min. lvl 14 to get the quest, I am not sure of the maximum. The reward item depends on the class. I received a spider silk robe (level 17 magic item) that is equippable by Wizards, Theurgists, and (I think?) Cabalists. These stats are not exact but close:
AF 12, Abs 17%, Hits +6, Int +3, Dex +3.
I did the quest with a Merc friend, and he received a studded breast plate. Stats were (again not exact) +6 hits, +3 Str, +3 quick.
Very easy quest to do, I would reccomend everyone go for it. At 14 Arachneida is blue, and an easy kill, but you will not make it out alive if your alone due to the swarm you will get when you attack her. I made it a suicide mission since I was alone, got the kill before dying and released to get my reward. I went back with a group of 6 to get everyone else the reward, and we killed her and her brood easily. Group was all lvl 14-16, and we had 3 wizards which made it easier with the AE spells.

Right now as an infiltrator when you complete this quest you are given a nice studded leather tunic.
Under the details it says usable by infiltrator but as all infiltrators know... We can't wear studded so the item that youa re rewarded with is not usable by the infiltrator. This is the only problem I know of with the quest I belive all other classes get an item that they can use. I'm sure this will be fixed eventually, alas it was quite a dissapointment when I finished this semi-difficult quest and was awarded an item I was incapable of using.

Where is kearn located? You mention the fang but not the chitin the solution also. Does Arachnaiea drop the chitin?

You have to be level 14 to do this, not 12.

Did this quest last night.
Robes are AC18, orange to lvl 15, Intelligence +3, Dexterity +3, Hit +6
They are also a nice dark blue.
