The quest that I received for this was Rhian's Dyes. It's got the same kills, and presumably the same reward, but I'm not done yet. As an update, I got no dye, but I did happen to see Large Eirebugs in Lough Derg at location 8.9, 50.2 so no need to go way up to Connacht. Can't confirm you get credit for quest kill, but worth a try.

The Large Eirebugs can now be found Southwest of DF in Connacht at approximately 25000, 24900

What anonymous is directing people to are the warrior version of these things. This won't fullfull anything but a head stone and some ***** change for a horse ride or a huge waste of time running there if you are trying to do the dye quest.

Are they agressive? I also think that all beasts on this site should eb labbled weather they are or not.

Im currently 11 and they con Blue, Yellow, and Orange to me, not a bad solo and/or grouping place for 9-11's

Head east of Howth to the river, then follow the river south to the stone bridge. Cross the bridge and you'll find an area with these bugs as well as some other 9 - 11 level creatures.
3.5 years later but those are Large Eirebug Warriors puprle to level 15.
