Varulvhamn is an underground lair where some werewolves take up resident. Most of the werewolves that live here tend to be less militant than those in Skona, though not necessarily less aggressive towards humankind. Two types of werewolves live here, the "common" werewolves and the wolfaur. Wolfaurs and werewolves differ slightly. Wolfaurs tends to be older-generation werewolves and as such, are almost "natural" in their forms. Because of this, they are further removed from their ancestral savagery than normal, "younger-generation" werewolves. The majority of their society (with the exception of those who are in positions that require aggression, such as wolfaur headsmen) tends to be less aggressive than their werewolf counterparts. Much to the annoyance of the werewolves, the wolfaurs tend to be more philosophical, open-minded, and even willing to accept their human Nordic neighbors. While the wolfaur are not openly aggressive toward humans and their companions, they will defend their kindred if needed. Local werewolf nobles also tend to gather in Varulvhamn to discuss matters of politics.
The "Boss" of Varulvhamn is Hresveigr. He spawns normal at the end of the new section in Varulvhamn. He spawns at lvl 45-49 and a small group of mid 30's to low 40's can take him down with some trouble but its doable. He then respawns EMIDIATELY as King Hresveigr. He is then lvl 50. I duoed him with a lvl 48 Skald. He has a mean AOE nuke and debuff so keep your casters outa his way and let the tanks beat on him. Really a fairly easy take down ;-)
I killed the king yesterday, he spawns looking like a troll type guy, purp at 39 (50+), and after that one is killed, a werewolf one forms, red at 39 (45-49).
also lycantics are blue-yellow at 39, so that means they can probably be 33-35?
frenetic wolfspiders are yellow to orange, as well, so they can be 40+
Wervolves, Wolfaurs , Lycantic (human), and spiders.
Lycantic and some spiders are agro. Lord room has a few agro mobs as well. Everything else is hostile/friendly.
Lunarians drop chain as well as best weapons (1h and 2h axes, hammers and swords) and small shields... if you can handle them , that should be your spot.
Werewolf churls drop medium and large shields as well as rings etc. Also leather armor.
Quixot's drop studded as well as some capes and bracers.
Lycantic's drop cloth armor as well as Runemaster's and Spiritmaster's staves.
The churls and crazed lunatics at the entrance are ideal for one or two man hunting parties, as they only come in singles. Once you have 3 or more people grouped, however, they start to come in pairs or groups of three. Loot is great for any number of people however, great place to hunt around 30.
The best place to hunt for a group of 6 to 8 people with a level range of 30 to 33 is the lords room.
We were a party of 6 to 8 all night long during 2 nights with 2 healers every time (1 healer cant keep up with all the adds and damage done to the group). The best is a healer with MEZZ so he can mezz at least one of the 2 to 3 adds.
how to reach the lords room: You should be able to run down on one run without aggroing anything on your way except for crazed lycantic (So be aware and avoid em) since every WW are frendly neutral or Hostile. After entering the dongeon, go down the first room and continue in the same direction and go down. You'll pass a little spider web on the floor (looks real nice by the way) and then you'll reach a big circular room with a hole on your right with a bunch of Churls and Pragmatic ww. Keep left to avoid falling in the hole but dont leave the circular room (so dont take the left entrance) and go down (should lead at the same place as if you fell from the hole) and then immediatly turn left after going down from the circular room. You should be at that time in another smaller circular room with a big pillar in the middle of the room. Go behind that pillar (So straight in front of you) and enter the small entrance. From there you should see the upper room with LORDS everywhere ;) Feel free to pull from there and keep fighting in that little entrance.
Pulling from a group of 8 resulted of getting 2 to 3 lords at the same time or a bodyguard with a grimnought or a bodyguard with a lord or a noble. Everything is possible to be handled with a great group if healer dont panic and everyone keep attacking the same one and then switch when dead.
Hunting the top by the entrance is a good spot with a high 20's low 30's group. There are two werewolf chruls and the bottom of the first incline and you can pull more wolves and crazed lunatics from the left hallway back up the hill.
Be warned though, they BAF. The two at the bottom come together, and when pulling down the hall you'll usually get 2 or 3. This is good works well with a a full group, good group bonuses, more money, and a fast turnover.
I haven't ventured past the top, so if anyone has any recommendations about where to go next, I'd love to hear them.
Well I don't know the exact location but I know how to get there ... so here goes ... From the WW fort head west towards Skona Ravines. You will come upon a hill that looks like a ceremonial place with stones ... head south west from there and you will find a ravine ...
Take the north side (you could also take the south side but the west end is a lil triky on that side) of the Ravine and follow the upper edge without being close to the edge cuz you will meet WWs that guard the ravine a lil more west ...
Tread carefully ... not all creatures are your friend ... most are not actually ...
At the end of the Ravine ... turn south and cross the Ravine opening (oh take a look at the 5 WWs guarding the entrace shoulder-to-shoulder, sooo cool) and on the other side there is the entrance .. the stone kinda looks like the vendo or Spin entrance ...
BTW ... if you are going to wait for people .. it is safer inside than out ..
