I play on the german server Avalon. On this site a mob called "Cichol Grichnos" i find at zone "Vale of Balor"(SI Zone???), but i have seen him in the "Cursed Forest". How can that be???

p.s.: Sorry for my bad english. :-)

Well my best guess would be that mob spawning isn't hardcoded in the server engine. Mythic probably uses configuration files ( the famous read files changes ), to configure the various mobs & spawn spot.

The Avalon server probably has some funky admins/devs or it might have been an error on their behalf. In any case you shouldn't take what's on Allakhazam as sealed in concrete. This site needs a lot of updates and help :)

Named Creatures

Here are some of the named creatures of the Cursed Forest. All will con purple to level 50s. Please note that while many of these begin neutral, after you kill any of them a few times most become aggressive (most are under the Cursed faction). I think each one has set to guarantee one usable item will drop with every death, no matter what, except the quest mobs.

Skeaghshee - looks like a merman, but darker. It drops a bard sword and bracer, among other things that I don't recall. As a 50 Druid, that Bard sword is my weapon of choice. : )

Blight - Starts as many small skeletons called Flame Blight, about 8 or so. They con green to 50, travel in a line together zig-zagging around in a certain area, and die easily. When they all die, you get a message about the bones swirling on the forest floor and they coalesce into 4 of another type of Blight. When they die, 2 Flesh Blights appear. And finally, when those die, Blight appears. The fight isn't necessarily that difficult with a good group, I've been in a group of 5 that killed the whole sequence. He drops a cloak that melees love, it adds 10 points to three different stats.

Juggernaut - Powerful, big ogre. He can hit level 50s with scale armor for over 700 damage (I know, I experienced it myself : ). I have known of 8 people in a single group to defeat him, but that is rare, at his weakest spawn strength. Usually, two groups are definitely a must. He drops some sort of caster gem, and other things.

Flame - Giant chicken-looking thing, transluscent. It's based off the cockatrice body shape. It does, yes, fire damage. It can score a "proc" on its hits of flame. Having Druid flame resist spell on the group helps a lot. Not too powerful. Drops nothing, but is a quest creature and must be killed for certain classes to get their 50 Epic Armor.

Develin - Named pooka. Not too hard. Considered red when I saw him. Drops nothing, except for Naturalists on their epic quest.

Shadowgnash - Named pooka. Has a one-time drop of a powerful cloak. You will only get it if you kill him while you are level 49 (it doesn't matter if others in your group are lower-level, everyone 49 or 50 will get it). You never get it again, but I think he drops coins also. Nothing else I know of.

Orey Eyed Oghamist - Giant ape-like ogre. Not too hard. I've never seen him drop anything but a few coins, not a single item.

Uafas Capall - Giant named pooka. Drops a powerful piercer or a few other things. Very powerful, I can't imagine one group beating this thing, but I hear it's been done when he spawns his weakest.

Wyvernic Wraith - Giant, reddish and beige wyvern that flies. Extremely powerful. Hits don't do much to it. No information on drops.

Goberchend Vindicator - Named in the vindicator village. Has no drop guarantee but randomly drops a powerful staff (forget which caster uses it). Be warned, he runs faster than a sprinting Bard using speed 5. Brings friends usually, is hidden in the building and has guards. Wipe out the whole village of goberchends before tackling him. He hits FAST too.
Cursed Forest Stealth Trip

I took my ranger through the forest last week, I never saw Blight or Orey Eye, but I did see Juggernaut (neutral) and Flame (neutral) very large creatures. Interesting thing about being near the Juggernaut was "A feeling of intense dread consumes you!" you get a message.
The first thing you encounter entering the Cursed Forest from near the tower in Bri Leith is a huge field of Unearthed Cave Bears. Then Fomorians , 3 types. Then you find a hilltop with ruins on it, inhabited by Grannies. Then you run across the Wyvernic Wraithes, mindworms, some incredible size scorpions and more. I hit south from there and found a river of unicorn. I made it out alive from there.

Named Mobs
# May 25 2002 at 7:08 PM Rating: Default
My guild is currently going around killing all the named mobs we can find. This is a 2 group event. With everyone basically lvl 45+ with 8 or so 50s. Most of the casters are useless in this though, A lvl 50 is only hitting them for 17, while in melee he was hitting for 18.

Orey-eye Oghamist - Large in size. Looked like a Ogre - Wasn't very hard...1 stupid puller died, but that was all. And We've killed him twice each time dropping a nice little druid item. (Lvl 50 Eld hit for 17 w/ nukes)

Blight - Large Skeleton red in color - Was much easier than Orey-eye Oghamist. Died really quick, and dropped a Shard of Light (Peicer). (Lvl 50 Eld hit for 60 w/ nukes)

Skeaghsee - Looks like large sprag - Harder than blight, but easier than Orey-eye Oghamist. Dropped a Bard Sword. (Lvl 50 Eld hit for 50 /w nukes)

damn

Do all these guys aggro on me? My lvl 44 character couldn`t even be there safely for 10 minutes! (ok, I`m Eld.. weak, no armour blablabla.. :)

But even then, I should not die in one hit :( darnit.. everyone of my level says he can go there and kill with a group of 4 lvl 44+

Is this true, or are the fooling me around?
The big guy
# Apr 30 2002 at 9:09 AM Rating: Default
his name is Orey Eyed Ogremist, I don't know if he is considered a named mob but he roams in a set pattern across the forest. I took a newbie there to scope the place out and he aggroed me from so far away all I saw was his outline, triple or quad hit me for the upper hundreds killed me instantly obviously. HUGE guy. About twice the size of any giant I have yet seen, black skin red eyes, loin cloth, one eye. Looks similar to Albion Wood Ogres but a slight variation. He may have been reskinned by now. I am guessing he is at the very least 45+. I have some screenshots of him I will try and get in to Illia if I can find them.

Juggernaught was fairly easy to kill with 4 groups of 40+. Uafas Capal took a bit longer, and the Wyrvren killed all of us, twice. Does anyone know the approximate loc of Blight?

Oops, I believe the giant troll is called Juggernaut, not behomoth.

All the named creatures in CF are nuetral. We killed the one eyed ogre, but just barely with 7 lvl 40+. Blight is suppossed to be a little easier. The Wyvernic Wraith is huge and the unicorn, Uafas Capall is equally large. The troll is named Behomoth. I'm guessing all the named are around level 70 and higher based on how much damage I was doing on them compared to the level 60 purps that we were walking all over.
Black Wraith

I was with the poster below, and the black wraith was definitely not the size of a tree... Blight was, perhaps larger than a tree.. and he hurts.

My friend and I recently ran to cursed forest at level 14 and 15 respectively. We saw a Pooka, a Black Wraith, a manslayer something, a Granny (?), and a huge skeleton called Blight. Blight was the one that killed us. Hit us both for 588. Got some great screenshots of it though.

LOL atleast 30 im 41 and EVERYTHING is still purple that I saw... and that GIANT Wyrven in there we had 3 groups of 40+ attack and the ONLY hit we got off on him was from a 47 BM for 3 damage..... I dont reccomend going in there until your 45+ and have a full group and 2 to be safe
Wyvernian Wraith

The Biggest Monster I've seen, and the coolest.
It was a big Ghastly Wyvern the size of 10 trees atleast. Very detailed, looked cool and was very scary.

# Dec 26 2001 at 11:39 AM Rating: Default
