- Tradeskills no longer have class restrictions. A character can choose any tradeskill.

- Characters can now have multiple tradeskills. To pick up a tradeskill a character does not have, speak to the tradeskill trainer. Please note that there is no limit to the amount of tradeskills a character can have. Your character can now choose and skill up in all of them.

Is there a way to know the stats of a weapon before you make it?

Yeah it's just to bad that unlike Asheron's Call you can't engrave just abou teverything. That would be great if Mythic implemeted this feature. Made things alot more personal.

Seems to be very similar to Everquest. Is it? If not what are some of the main difference's youve experienced?

The post below says it all but here is my 2cp. The best part of this is the profit that can actually be made, for a change, without selling to other PC's. I sat around doing consignments one day and made 7gp in very little time at all. It is a very nice change from the wrist wracking pain that EQ was.

I disagree. In everquest, there was no way to get a decent skill, without wasting a rediculous amount of plat. In DAoC, not only are you able to make items, and get your money back, but when you start making steel+, you can make quite a profit. This has nothing to do with selling to PC's, which is where the real money is......

It's all about consignments, consignments, consignments.
Levels and skill

Trade skill works independantly of you level of character ... (IE: not like ultima online) You can start learning at Level one. You simply find a trades master and join the trades guild. (not the same as a player guild or a specialization) Once you Joine one you can make almost anything .. however I am not sure if Weapon smithing will go up when you are an armoursmith. Everything else seems to go up.
Can a full skilled fighter also be a full skilled craftsman?

Can I take my L8 Paladin and start learning a trade skill without hurting his Paladin skills?
Can he be both or do I need a separate character to do the trade skills?
If the Paladin can do a trade skill can he excell in both the Paladin skills and the trade skills, be as good a Paladin as one without any trade skill?

the whole trade skill thing kind of confuses me. I have to characters who have gotten trade skills. One picked tailoring and the other weapons smith. Well when I tried to make arrows with my tailor he skill with fletching went up. but when I made arrows with the weaponsmith the fletching skill did not go up. Is there some skill level requirement for skills going up? The tailor got his tradeskill at level 6 and the weaponsmith got his at level 5. do you have to be level 6 before you skill goes up?
SKILLS AND POINTS

To learn this skill go to Tir Na Nog and find a trainer. They r located at the top by the palace and the forge. Talk to the trainer and click on armorsmith he will then say u r now in the armorsmith's guild or something to that effect. The go to your armor making list which is an icon of a lil helmet click on it and click on the first item. put it in as a hot key and then right click it for the recipe to make it, all the stuff to make it will be right around the forge at merchants. U will need to buy a plaining to a smith's hammer and a tailoring kit. to see your progress there r numbers next to the icons in your list.
