Taunt not a primary style
# Oct 04 2002 at 4:52 AM Rating: Default
The only thing that isnt so good about crush is that it doesnt have a 1 hit taunt style like the slash and thrust. For us crush users its a secondary style used after another.

I think crush users should be bought in line with the other 1 handed styles and given a primary taunt style. I sincerely hope someone is listening :) (1.53 anyone <raises eyebrow>)

A crushing weopon is to be used by a Paladin...Looking at all the high level weopons you can see this, because each weopon is Plus something to piety. I had a level 28 armsman with 27 crush. recently I switched to a Paladin and stuck with crush. Crush is a great weopon skill to have. You can get aggro with Bludgeon and slow then enemy down with other weopon skills.
Is staff a crushing weapon?

Will a crushing spec increase one's proficiency with a staff?

Answering my own question in case someone else wants a definitive answer: no.

You can't use a staff for crushing styles (even though it does crushing damage- stupid i think). And specing in crush will not increase your maximum or minimum damage.

Sadly, countless grey wolf pups had to die for this experiment...

and fyi, the same holds true for 2-hand spec: it does nothing for staves (again, stupid I think).

If you want more info, you can find me on E-bay selling virtual grey wolf fur coats...

Staff is auto trained to 2/3rds of your level, so in other words at lvl 33 you'll have 22 staff and so on and so forth, no styles but you won't have 1 staff at lvl 50

You have no clue what you are talking about... A polearm/crushing is the way to go with an armsman. Since you are a newbie lemme explain to you. A halberd polearm is probably the best weapon in the game for an armsman. It uses slashing damage but can play off of any of the base types of weapons (crush, thrust, slash). With this in mind...putting points in crushing and useing the halberd will give you a 2 in 1 combo. You'll have crush power and slash damage...check out the armsmen forum b4 actually saying anything next time.
I started with crush

I started my armsman with a crushing style hammer that was orange to me when I started using it, but I leveled so quickly with it, that I reached polearms before it died. nice.
