Damage and Snare - Target takes damage. Damage done is of the spell's given damage type. Target's movement speed is also slowed by the given percentage, which gives the caster more time before the target closes to melee range.

go to 26 in earth for pbt and then rest into air
# May 28 2002 at 9:34 AM Rating: Default
Hi. im a lvl30 Theugelist and I got 26-Earth, 13-Air ( I think ). And thinking of going for 8 sec BT and highest Airpet. Then the rest will go into Ice so I get all my pets at highest lvl. I basicly use my baseline blast, Earth debuff, baseline root and my pets. Anyone know if this is good? Seems like the way to go for me. Sense I basicly dont use any specline except of pets and debuff. If you got any other suggestion please contact me at

The info listed on these pages for any of the spell lines is not accurate. Hardly any of the info is 100% correct. Some of it might be, but it's really hard to tell what is right and what is wrong unless you actually play the game.

AE Damage
# Feb 13 2002 at 4:57 PM Rating: Default
Are there any Theurgist AE Damage spells? I know we have AE Root (Ice), and AE Mez (Wind), but what about an AE DD?
What do they cast?
# Jan 05 2002 at 11:26 AM Rating: Default
Does anyone know what Ice pets actually cast? I know its some type of nuke, but is it like the ones on the Refridgeration spec line- with the snare effect?
RE: What do they cast?
# Mar 02 2002 at 4:06 PM Rating: Default
It isnt a named spell its just "the spell that the ice beast casts"
RE: What do they cast?
# Mar 02 2002 at 4:40 PM Rating: Default
But i could be wrong, it looks an awful lot like the spells in the Ice cloud line
RE: What do they cast?

Well what ever it is... it makes the Enemy slower...

# Dec 26 2001 at 12:26 AM Rating: Default
I am speced 15ice 7earth things are going well... One question tho. On all the pages i have read it says i get a DD?snare at 13spec in ice. I got the 13lvl pet, but not dd/snare. Is this a bug or did Mythic change their minds?

Enemy rooted: 1% movement
# Nov 29 2001 at 12:44 PM Rating: Default
What's the difference between the various spells in the root line?

My level 5 Theurgist can cast the first one which seems like it might root something for oh, half a second. Do they become more meaningful later?
RE: Enemy rooted: 1% movement
# Dec 27 2001 at 12:34 PM Rating: Decent
There are two root spells available, the level-based one and the spec-based one. The level based one (Cold's Bitter Grip is the first) affects only one target, and the spec one (Field of Frost if I remember correctly) affects all mobs in an area around the caster. It can sort of be used as an area mez if you don't have air spec (not sure if it will stop casters from using spells, though)

Snow Blast
# Nov 26 2001 at 10:25 AM Rating: Default
I just hit lvl 13 and have 13 points in the Ice/Cold line, but I didn't get Snow Blast. I got Glittering Ice Cloud (from the Path of Ice), and the lvl 13 pet spell, but no Snow Blast.

Is that a bug?
Ice pets
# Nov 22 2001 at 9:45 AM Rating: Default
The ice pets have been added into the game. They are not posted on this site yet but you do get them as soon as you get the refrigeration skill path. The ice pets are like caasters that cast ice spells with a range of 1500. They alo tank when and enemy is close to them. Hope this helps you guys.

It should be: Fire for pyromancy, Ice for Refrigeration and Air for Vapormancy. :)
RE: Actually...
# Dec 15 2001 at 11:57 PM Rating: Decent
Closer, but no character will ever have those 3 skills, since 2 are unique to 2 different classes. The complete answer would be:

Theurgist: Earth for Abrasion, Ice for Refrigeration and Air for Vapormancy

Wizard: Earth for Calefaction, Ice for Liquification and Fire for Pyromancy

The spec lines change depending on which type of advanced elementalist you decide to become.

The Skills Like vapormancy, refrigeration, and Pyromancy are not supposed to show up until you have put 5 spec points in that particualar path. Fire for pyromancy, Ice for Vapormancy and Earth for Refrigeration.
RE: Skills not showing
# Nov 16 2001 at 2:45 PM Rating: Default
Actually they are supposed to show as soon as you become a Theurgist. The 5 spec level thing is a bug. Cabalists nor any other classes have this problem. However, for the time being at least, that is the way the spec lines work.
Refrigeration skill not showing up
# Oct 30 2001 at 6:38 AM Rating: Default
I trained earth before lvl 5. When I got to lvl 5 and went theurgist, I got abrasion and vapormancy, but no refrigeration. Well I didn't make a big deal out of it, since I was putting points into earth at the time. When I got to 9, though, I put points into path of ice. When I had put enough points in to get to lvl 5, refrigeration finally appeared. If this happens to you, try to get to 5 before flooding the poor CSRs with the appeal :) I'll make a bug petition on this though, and hopefully it will be resolved for future theurgists soon. May be that everything would have gone ok, if I hadn't put any points anywhere until choosing my profession.
Ice Elementals

Seems summon spells for Ice Elementals have been left off the list...
