Yes, much!
This ring doesn't do what it's suppose to
# Oct 02 2002 at 9:05 AM Rating: Default
I have a sorc in Albion on one server and an enchanter on another. Similar rings for my sorc do what they say and raise your attributes and give you the spell to go with them. For my enchanter though there is no spells or any other sign that this ring or another ring I have that's suppose to raise enchantment actually works. This really sucks.
where are the spells

WHAT SKILLS SHOULD I MAX OUT IN FOR THE ENCHANTER?
# Sep 02 2002 at 9:00 AM Rating: Default
Within leveling through the path of the ENCHANTER, what training skill should maxed out in training and what do I need to do to be powerful enough to fight in RVR or PVP?

Riddler?
What to Train in to be MORE POWERFUL??
# Sep 02 2002 at 8:49 AM Rating: Default
With an Enchanter, after leveling, what skills do I train in to make him more powerful and to be able to stand up to others in RVR or PVP (mana, light or enhancements)? Also, what should I specialize in, magic wise?

Thanx

Hello, my simple advice to playing an enchanter, post 1.52 patch.

New enchanters should struggle through 1-5, saving their points for when they choose their path. Once chosen, put all your points up to 20 in enchantments. The mana spells up to 20 are very weak, and by putting your points into enchantment, you will end up with a very strong pet that can solo reds. The baseline light spells are actually worth something, use them, they work.

I don't reccomend that you solo reds as they are not worth the exp for the down time you spend.

At 20, utilize the single line respec. I suggest you leave about 10 points in enchantments though to keep your pet buffed. Place all the other points into mana, and enjoy the power you have.

Nope

You can't equip pets. The one with the robe is the last pet you get. Just because it looks liek they have scale or they have a robe on doesn't mean someone gave them scale. The zealot has the robe and dagger.

There are three types of tasks depending on who you ask. You ask by saying /s task or better still /whisper task...

If you ask a "named" guard, i.e., rather than an npc guard called "guardian" or "sentinel" you may get a kill task. With these they ask you to go and kill something, then upon returning to them you get your reward.

If you ask any other "named" NPC, i.e., a merchant, you may get a deliver task. With these you will be asked to deliver an item to another NPC.

If you ask your craft master, you will get a consignment task, but thats for when you start crafting and not one to worry about if you are just starting out :)

The first two are purely random and some will give you a task, but most won't... just trial and error I'm afraid. You are only able to carryout a number of tasks equal to your level, i.e., at level 10 the most tasks you can do is 10, and your have to complete these in 2 hours (thats real hours, and they don't tick off while you are off-line)

Hope this helps...

RE: What do the last pet do??
# Apr 03 2002 at 3:46 AM Rating: Default
-The zealot is a advance caster with 2 direct damage spells.
-The compatriot is a tank with enhanced defence and self shield
-The Ally has a reg buff and heals critical wounds
-The companion is a caster with only 1 direct damage spell.
-The friend is the basic tank with no abilities.

Hope this helps.:)

some seem to do better against certain creatures than others. a knife pet for example not as strong against a ghost as a punching pet.

RVR We don't suck
# Dec 26 2001 at 4:29 PM Rating: Default
I have 144 Realm points at level 20. I got my first 2 at level 15.

You will die often to archers of other relms. (Archieria and Tok of Albion and Midgard respecively) can cerctainly testify to using my lurikeen frame for target practice. Oddly tanks tend to dismiss me as a non-threatening gray.

Tips? Keep moving, stop only when you KNOW you are in range of a target. Send your pet into battle without drawing attention, and be prepared to create them on the fly... Pets are excelent at ensuring enemy archers do not get the chance to hide after shooting.

RVR is a team sport, know whats going on and figure out how best to spend your short life. if you don't see any targets you can simply blow away then debuff and run like heck. Put the pet on casters whenever you can and rangers whenever possible. cast your 'Arms' spells like its Christmas in newbie land. Oh, never forget to say thanks to the person who rezez you, they will see you again soon.

Ok.... I am playing this game see and it is really cool. The game is called DAOC. This game is nice but could someone out there throw me a bone? I need a hunting guide. A task guide....something. Are there any level 42 ench. out there tell me where to hunt what level, and what should I put my stuff inta. I am level nine and love the enchanter but I need a little advice.

10 hours...less than 10 hours...Whatever...How about just relaxing and enjoying the game? See the sights...do some quests...enjoy a horse ride or two. In the end, it's about the experience, not about how high level you've become and how fast. You can't really own pixels. Memories, however, are yours forever.
RE: an enchanter
# Apr 08 2002 at 8:20 AM Rating: Default
I agree . Daoc is so much unlike EQ. The world is so beautiful and soothing and at the same time more intense than EQ. I ve played EQ for over a year and spent much time in downtime (although I have been a big fan) DAOC is instant satisfaction. I am enjoying every second of it. EQ is just too bulky and time consuming....

I am not sure about RVR (though I assume we suck unless the attackee doesnt know where I am for sure) but in regular combat soloing is cake. I can piddle around with a NON STOP flow of greens for easy cash, or blues about ten without slowing down, but oranges are so easy to solo and the exp is so good I stick to them. I can even take out Reds without much worry, I end up with about half mana and a full health pet when dont fighting a red (plus I never get hit).

I have yet to have a need to buy any armor (made what I wear) or a weapon, dont have much need since I havent directly meleed since I got my pet at level 5.

average cash per kill freom oranges at level 10 is 8 silver, 1 min I would say between kills... that to me isnt all that bad of cash.
Soloing
# Nov 03 2001 at 2:21 PM Rating: Default
WOW
I love my enchanter.

I can easaly kill till orange+ Mob.
So i leveled in about 10 hours from 5 to
level 10 only with soloing.
Yes its a bit dangerous to solo, but
the result counts. 2 to 3 death in a level are normal and the money u loose, its no prob!
U get it back very quick.

- Make Pet and buff it
- buff u self ;-)
- get so far away from the soon dead mob that u
arent out of range
- give command to kill!
- wait until mob is hit by pet for about 10 to 20%
- cast u highest DD spell as often u can

if mob went towards u, u can cast minimum 2 times
the dd spell until it is at u spot.
at this time the mob is about 20% hp left.
And now get in direct combat with u pet and mob.
Now loot, exp and adrenalin are yours ;-)

Took you 10 hours?! my friend you need to take advantage of the tasks... with your speed spell you can do alot of tasks in a short time. Take advantage of your ability to solo to do the combat tasks. Also do quests. You can get from 5 to 10 in less than 3-4 hours with tasks usually. Tasks give you anywhere from half to 3/4 of your level before you run out of them. each task is usually equivalent of killing 4 blues.
RE: Soloing
# Apr 02 2002 at 7:24 AM Rating: Decent
hmmmm i am fully speccced in enchanting and i can solo 4 - 5 blues at one time(blackthrons, sprragons)
Tasks suck
# Dec 26 2001 at 4:34 PM Rating: Default
I can kill 4 blues in 10 minutes, easily. I would rather kill 4 oranges in 15 minutes though and do much better than tasks. Also, like most people are clueless on, kill tasks are twice the exp and usually much faster. I have also been in the Midgard realm and have done level 18 in 35 minutes on kill tasks. Almost as fast as when my healer is in a group of 34th lvl tanks =)
