I'm pretty sure you get one every 4 levels, such as 1 point at level 9, 13, 17...
bad timing.....

Here's the deal...

I have a level 24 NS with around 18 into stealth. I have had a problem beating other stealthers though. It seems that more often than not, I detect them about 2 feet from me. 19 times out of 20 they hit me first and since it's a norseman with high strength and a 2h axe, he does twice my hit points in damage and doesn't even unstealth when he kills me.

I have no problem being out-matched or out-thought, but I am not sure what I am doing wrong. From my perspective there should be plenty of time for me to target him and do my crit shot. Is it their higher Stealth rating? Is it higher Quickness or Dex?

I want to learn more about this and be the bane of stealthers everywhere. Any thoughts or advice would be welcome!

Distraction is activated by using your ground marker, the F5 key. Press the key and move the marker around using your directional keys or mouse to the desired place where you want the mob to look. Then press your distraction button on your hotbar (cause thats where you need to put it for it to work) and if you're successful the mob will turn to look in that direction; usually in the opposite direction to where you are standing so now it has offer it's back to you... easy target :)

And yes on mobs it works the majority of the time...

well you should most likely train a little in stealth but your not a shadowblade, shadowblades are the ones that should train in stealth not hunters but thats just my opinion. you should put a bunch into bow...... beastcraft is ok too i gus.

hmm... very strange, I have stealth 31 and only SF3... what server you on, maybe I should transfer my char.. :)

...but seriously though, the above info comes direct form the game patch notes which say that you gain a level in Safe Fall for every ten points in Stealth, and also the 1.50 patch notes say that they have fixed the bug that was stopping those that spec'd to 50 in Stealth from receiving Safe Fall 5...

...so if you have SF5 at only 33 Stealth keep quiet about it.. :p

Assasins Vs Scout types
# May 09 2002 at 5:36 AM Rating: Default
I've been having a hard time finding the answer to this question.
Do Assasins have an advantage over Scouts in stealth?
For instance can Assasins see other stealths farther then Scouts if each have the same spec lvl on stealth?
Or can they see other stealths the same distances?
Thx

Very easy : Skills like Sense Danger, Detect Hidden or Climb are only for Infiltrators/Nightshades an Assasins
Stealth and Rangers
# Apr 26 2002 at 2:35 AM Rating: Default
Exactly how important is stealth to rangers? They don't exactly get close to peeps in rvr to kill them. Wouldn't it be more worthwhile to simply have stealth at 1/2 season and simply spend the freed up spec points on other skills rather than having stealth maxed or at 3/4 season so it's harder for assassins to track you down?

I am a Minstrel and I just raised my stealth High enough to Be hidden by most, about 16. The way I figure it I can max my thrust and my instruments, that way when the Shadowblade or Nightshade tries to sneek up on me, all he finds is a quick death by me or my Fellow stealthers. I am the Bait of sorts. But the Bait with a Bite.

Here's what i plan on doing:

up until i'm ready for the 30-35 BG i'm leaving stealth alone, lvl 15 now and have 3 skill in Stealth without putting ANY points into it. How? auto-train, starting at lvl 8, every 4 lvls NS's get an auto-trained point into Stealth (8,12,16,20,etc.) by lvl 32 i can have my stealth skill up to 8 and shave 35points that i can use to get CS or envenom just that little bit higher. after lvl 32, i'll keep stealth maxxed and envenom as well i think.

Here are my vitals as of lvl 15:
stealth 1 (+2 from auto-train and +1 from item)
pierce 10 (+2 from item)(detaunt style for groups)
Celtic Dual 2 (oops, wish i hadn't done that)
Envenom 14
Critical Strike 12 (hamstring)

at lvl 32 i plan to have:
stealth 32
pierce 10
CS 21 (Perf. Artery)
Envenom 26
CD 2

i'm not raising CD simply because at 50 skill there is still only a 50% chance of swinging with both weaps

Sasuke Sarugakure
lvl 15 Nightshade
Lancelot Hibernia

P.S. autotrain points are not counted like item bonuses, but as if you had put the points into it. so at lvl 20 i'll get the distraction ability (stealth skill 5) whereas if i had +4/5 points from items at lvl 1, i wouldn't.
my 2 cents

i am a 32 lurikeen nighshade. i find that poison is helpful especially when you solo and going up again others in the battlefields. i poisoned a few in the last few days and at 25dd per tick it wont take long for 100 pts of life to be leached off of them. if its a caster you are on they dead quick. i also love my dd spell i have and sometimes when i hit that it sends em running. they dont expect that you see. i have my armor dyed brown and use a light green hooded cloak with stats when in the field. i blend in with dirt or grass. max your stealth out always. i also use piercing and crit strikes.

ShadowBlade Strategy on Midgard, what is the best path to go
# Feb 16 2002 at 11:40 PM Rating: Default
Im mainly investing in Critical Strike and Sword, and some in stealth. Im a level 9 shadowblade on Midgard. And just invested in envenom for the first time. 3 times I clicked it I believe. When someone says they have a level 7 sword, or level 10 this blah blah etc. how do you measure how many points you have into a skill? Is it through how many actual #'s you see when u right click your trainer? Im told to put some into crit strike, some into Sword, some into stealth, and envenom, those are the main ones u should spread nicely when your a shadowblade? I have em spreaded pretty nicely among envenom/critstrike/sword/stealth now. Is this a good way to go? i hear doing stealth/poison really high is good for RvR, when uget lifebane poison u can creep up when your clocked, and strike with lifebane poison and kill in one shot.

I'm currently a level 12 shadwoblade kobold.
The comp i suggest you to boost is to boost sword equal to your leveL. It's your main weapon and it have to make damage !
The further points i suggest to spread among stealth, envenom and critical strike.
With stealth you can gain great abilities : move around hidden, scouting, attack from behind, etc etc and the comp distraction is great to make a mob look elsewhere...
Envenom is great and absolutly needed. With poison you can boost your attacks and fight greater mob (yellow one doesn't make me in trouble)...
Critical strike give you the ability to backstab ennemies and make greater damages.

As weapon, i use as primarily combinaison sword and buckler, the sword i use is a short one, good damage but extreamly fast. The aim is to use the boosted speed of the kobold to hit a lot of time and thus with some attack force the mob to not attack you. The buckler permit you with great dex (kobold have) to block some attaks. One block can give you a great advantage.
The second combinaison is a great double handed sword (max dam - speed doesn't care), that i use as final blow sword. When you come to end or in trouble with the mob life, a quick switch from weapon can give you a great hit without the waiting of the blow...
Actually, i put poison on both weapons...
I can give me an advantage too when fighting two mobs.. !

poison isnt that good...
im level 36 and singleshotted a red mage....
Sense danger etc.
# Feb 14 2002 at 8:48 PM Rating: Default
Um it isn't a skill, when u reach that level u get it, its just not under skill tree, for instance u don't have to put detect hidden on your quickcast and press the button, u automatically can see stealthed people all the time, same goes for sense danger, it will tell u when a scout sees you. So if u don't see the skill under skills like distraction its ok u still have it 8)
