I am a 47 Healer of Nimue going 50 PAC 20 Mend
4 AUG. Crowd Control is fun and a good CC'er will be praised through out your realm. Purity of Meditation is loved by casters your are guarnteed a good group. Pbaoe is the best experience you can get and it is hard to have a Pbaoe group without PoM. SO go all PAC. Let the Shamans take care of the melee.
In RvR I am a hero with the insta AOE stuns and mezz. I was with a group of 8 in Emain when we came across 12 to 15 Albs sitting and resting. I aoe stunned them and a suicidal supp SM and 3 tanks came in and killed the lot of them.
You will love Pac...do not litsen to the Aug fools unless you wanna be bored.

REGARDING HEALER AND SHAMMY BUFFS, YES, SHAMAN HAVE MORE BUFFS, BUT THEY DO NOT HAVE PURITY OF MAGIC OR ATTACK. EVERY HEALER SHOULD REMEMBER THIS AND WHEN GROUPED WITH SHAMAN MAKE SURE AND GIVE SHAMAN AND ALL CASTERS PURITY OF MAGIC. ALSO GIVE ALL FIGHTERS PURITY OF ATTACK, CAUSE SHAMMIES CANT DO THOSE. AND CONTRARY TO POPULAR BELIEF, SOME PEEPS DO LIKE TO TAKE DOWN TIME FROM GROUPS AND SOLO, SO DONT GIMP YOURSELF IN AUG.
HEALERS ARE MORE FUN AS BALANCED SPEC CLASS, DONT GIMP ANY ONE SPEC. GET YOUR INSTA HEALS, INSTA STUN, MEZZES, AND GOOD BUFFS.

healer augment = waste of time... get to 5, thats all u need. Some go to 16, but I wouldnt go much past 22

For all you Augment haters out there. Take a look at the recent patch info. Mythic has finally given Healers a reason to spec in Augment. As an Augment specced healer I can tell you it kicks ***** We gained an incredible self only damage shield and a self only str/con buff similar to that of shamans. But better then all of that haste works properly now (not lowering damage per hit as speed increased) and we have a new 20second haste spell with no recast timer that affects all in the group. Already, at 35th level, I can make a person attack approx. 60% faster. Call it weak if you want but I'd wager every fighter out there would happily tag along a healer that can make him hit about twice as fast as normal. As for soloing...this certainly helps quite a bit but we are still healers. Using not so good gear I can take out yellows with about no downtime cuz I just heal myself afterwards.

That said...quit crappin on Auggies.

huh? Why solo when everyone wants to group with us lol. dont see why this is an issue. Shamans are for buffs. Ive gotta lvl 35 shammy and a 22 healer atm Notice a huge diff in there base buffs alone
Still Worth Training?

I have a question for high level healers who do RvR combat. Until the 1.42patch this line of spells sounded (from message boards and other forums) like it was a integral part of a healer's role in RvR. Now that the power of these spells have been significantly decreased, is it worth spending the precious training points that could go into the mending line of spells? Or, even though you can only cast them once per minute on other players, are these still very effective? Any clarification would be very helpful for up and coming healers such as myself.

I am a lvl 47 Healer. My specs are P35, M25 and A20.

Giving me 2 insta heals, 1 insta stun and 1 insta mezz. I and my group have been saved countless of times due to those instas.

Yes they are stil extremely effective in RvR. However mostly so in smaller skirmish encounteres. Where you don't have too many Healers running around trying to mezz/stun all the time.

The 1 min timer only means the target cannot have that spell effect again for the 1 min. But Stun/Mezz/Root are on each seperate timers. That gives you 3 chances to pacify a enemy.

No we are not a crippled class. It is just little more of a challenge.

if you're more into RvR.. This still kick *** but you won't get any RPs for Mezzing or stunning..

Mending will give you rps.. The thing with Mending is that the tank will go down before you can finish your healing spell which makes Healing pretty useless in Rvr..

All in all, that class is crippled in RvR...

It's an MMORPG. I'm not here to solo yellows and blues. If I wanted to solo, I'd still be playing a single person game. *yawn* ... How many different ways can I end Baldur's Gate 2 anyway?

If you're a healer, you don't really need to look for a group all that hard. They will be looking for you.

I'm going for Pac as my main line because I believe it will be quite useful to help my team with crowd control.. not only in dungeons, but in RvR.

As I've noticed with other healer's I've played in MMORPGs, The better the crowd control, the less I need to heal.

I'm a lvl 32 healer now and have Pac at 25, Aug at 8, and mend at 18. In RvR the mez helps out my group a ton. And as far as soloing goes ... get yourself some armor and a nice hammer. Then you ahve no problem... I take yellows in my sleep still.
Gear makes a big difference

Just want to post that the gear that you wear makes a HUGE difference. I play a healer and had been soloing yellows then all of a sudden blues were a close match. Once I upgraded all my armor to orange or yellow to me, I was able to start soloing yellows again. I'm now a 33rd level healer and my aug is at 7 and pac is at 26. I would much rather stop the creature than have a nice buff for when he hits me :

I agree that augmentation is important, but I think pacification is the line that defines a healer in RvR. Without our paralyze and mez shouts we become easy pickings for anyone who sees us cast one heal. Sure, a high augmentation will definitely help out on soloing and probably even help out in group situations but who wants to get to level 50 and find out their character is nothing but a target in RvR?

For the record, I'm going 31 mending, 22 aug, and 38 pacification. Also for the record at level 19 with an augmentation of 8 I can still solo yellow mobs. I have always been able to solo yellow mobs.

actually, healers can solo alot better than you seem to think, granted that augmentation was their primary specialization, but then that wouldn't leave them to their namesake...not only that, but i DO play a pet class, and i don't really need suggestions from somebody who posts anon..LOL

Might wanna seriously and painstakingly consider this line...at level 12 i can't solo some blues effectively...but i could have if i spec'd in aug...
