Come on, guys. Finally, something that's really worth arguing over, and y'all are on vacay.

I hope they add it. That way maybe I might get a lvl 60 one day. People learn the basics of a job fast even if they start at max level and those who don't would be bad regardless of having to lvl or not.

For the most part I think it would be used by people who already play the game anyway. It doesn't really take that much effort anyway and so it is not an achievement people should feel is made worthless either. Basically not that big of a deal overall, it is expected actually.

Not to mention it is always a little bit satisfying to see people, who has continually just swallowed whatever SE gave them and told others to go play something else if they don't like it, cry about it. In the end this is essentially the type of game they have been asking the developers for when saying it is great and perfectly fine that SE is making a FF version of WoW/Rift/insert random generic themepark, so then here it is in all its glory.

In the end though from what I gathered it was not 100% certain so if people make enough noice maybe they can stop it. I kind of doubt it though.

Considering most MMOs I play or have played has a "boost" including the Chinese version fo XIV, I find it a good option to give people, because the main argument I've seen on official forums and reddit:

"People won't learn how to play the game."

Well..look at certain players now. Despite NOT having the jump potions people still don't seem to know how to play the game let alone their class. Honestly, it helped the Chinese version because the #1 complaint they had was the astronomical amount of "required" quests to actually do actual content and wasting so much time getting towards Heavensward.

It's always nice getting a story, but the setup of XIV just, if you can actually skip to a point you can do stuff, why not? They said they probably won't do 4.0 like they did 3.0..but after all, yoshi apologized for the moogle quests and if you were interested in the beast tribe, you still had to do it..so hanging onto his word is kind of a at your own risk thing, so a story/level jump is definitely a good option and will sell well based on the past mogstation sales.

Let's face it, play style while leveling is nothing like play style at endgame anyway. SE loves to throw in game changing abilities at the eleventh hour so much of what you learned about your job until that point means nothing.

Hey SMNs, did you have fun leveling? Have you figured about a good rotation and the best timing and usage of Aetherflow stacks? Well now you have to manage Aethertrail Attunement stacks and Dreadwyrm Trance! Have fun!

Hey BRDs and MCHs, we noticed that you like running around while DPSing, so we made you all casters! Psych!

Hey BLMs, Enochian.

Hey DRGs, Blood of the Dragon.

Etc.

I'm not down with boosting in any MMO. You should have to level your character, dammit. It's an RPG.

But it doesn't affect me much at the end of the day, so whatever.

I'm a big no on boosting levels...

However, as someone who has recently started a new character on another server there are quite a few fluff quests that can be pulled out and made side quests. Just doing the storyline, hunt log and guildhests I was overleveled before the 50 storyline quest. Levels are not the problem, the excessive filler quests are the problem.

Honestly just don't make 4.0 locked behind 3.0 and it will probably be fine.

Yeah I'm not a fan of them either, but if people really want to jump up to level 50 or 60, I don't see how that really hurts anything.

In fact, I have a friend or two who might have stuck around had they been able to match my level right out of the gate.

I already said what I thought about the "jumping potions" on the OTHER forums, but personally I don't care that much. The state of the playerbase on the DF is already so bad that it's not like a bunch of people automatically at 50 or 60 or whatever can make it that much worse.

If people want to throw more money away to have the game played for them, why should I care? It's not like I'd be seeing any of that money either way.

That may be part of why I like NIN, it's probably the DPS that changed the least. The biggest difference was probably Armor Crush, a rather handy attack that freed up your ninjutsu usage and having to sacrifice every one in three casts for Huton, and a couple of off-gcds that help you focus down a single target a little bit more effectively, that even have matching cooldowns so you can pretty much use them together like they were one cooldown. It also got enmity toys, but really, who ******* cares about those?

Every other DPS gained some layers of complexity (the ranged DPS arguably getting the thickest layers) but NIN is still pretty simple IMO.

It still bugs me that Duality and Dream Within a Dream don't work together. That seemed like such an obvious pairing especially with the way Duality is worded.

I feel sorry for the currency. ; ;

SE should offer a special 3/4 discount for UK players.

Forgetting to do my weekly on my alt and also forgetting to untic "in progress" and I end up in this fresh hell I've never seen before:

The 71 Minute in progress timer was the first red flag, but I figured "Can't be too bad, I know weeping city is still a fairly long raid and people bail when they get their gear or gear they wanted never dropped."

Oh boy.

Things I hate? When DPS don't use AoE moves in grind dungeons.

This happened in the expert last night... a bard and a ninja were just doing single-target only THE. ENTIRE. TIME. Finally, I stopped trying to be a good tank and just threw in the towel... I pulled as few mobs as I possibly could and just surfed the web on my phone whilst doing 1-2-3, not even making an effort to avoid attacks. Wasn't even looking at the screen. At that point, why bother?

If I were one of those dps I would have loved to get feedback because I would never slow the run down intentionally, if I did it, it would only be because I didn't know any better. I think the biggest problem I've seen is a lot of people just don't take feedback, they get angry and keep doing what they are doing, sometimes even make it worse just to spite. Definitely an annoying problem.

I think they were just being lazy. By level 60, you MUST know that you have AoE abilities.

I barely used Doton at all anymore even against groups since the adjustments in 3.3 tbh, the enemy needs to stay in the puddle for nearly the entire time it's up for it to do just slightly more damage than Katon, and in my experience I've found this rarely happens, whether it's due to enemies dying early, or enemies being taken out of the puddle. I'd rather just have the instant results.

Playing on BRD I know I'll single target to multi-dot all the enemies but I still do the AoE rotation (and refresh dots when needed) since well...you know, dot's are crucial for procing bloodletter/rain of death spam.
