Be sure to sign up for club nintendo. I pretty much end up getting 1 free game a month from my regular purchases. Just the purchase of the wii itself should give you enough coins to get a free kirby game or something (till Oct 12, then they switch over)

They are mostly first party titles available, but still, some decent stuff pops up on there.

Ya. I signed up for that some time ago.

I'm at 1050 coins right now because of recent purchases. I got Super Mario RPG for 200 coins a year or so ago. I think it was the start of the console deals thread. I also got one of the Zelda GB games for free for gold status a couple years ago. I have platinum this year so I wonder what the rewards will be.

If they were like the most recent platinum rewards, not very good. Don't forget to fill out the pre and post play surveys to get more coins.

I think coins eventually expire, so I wouldn't hoard them too much. I have personally never seen any expire but I remember them saying "this is how many coins of yours will expire by x date" - my number was 0 but I am assuming that means that they can expire.

Actually platinum was good this year but you missed out already the redemption period has expired.

All mine are relatively new. And I see last years selection was pretty good. We'll see what this years is when the time comes.

None of the current coin games interest me. Hopefully they refresh the selection soon.

The coin selection has been pretty poor for awhile now, and they seem to be phasing out their physical goods for coins. As far as expiring, they do. I've had to make a few purchases in the past because I had coins that were going to expire.

I don't mind them getting rid of physical items. I'd rather have digital games on the VC on the list anyway.

I think my first game was Super Mario RPG for 200 coins some time ago. Then I got Gold that first year, and got one of the Zelda games as a reward. Last year I didn't get enough points to get Gold (It runs July to July I think). This year I hit Platinum with the purchase of the Wii U and a handful of games, so that's why I have so many points (plus I forgot to register a few 3DS games I purchased some time ago).

I just have to wait til next summer before they announce the rewards for this year.

This. I have no interest in the physical goods for the most part, and any of them that don't completely suck are way too expensive.

More soundrack CDs would be nice though. I like my majora's mask soundtrack I got for platinum status awhile back... Heck even digital downloads of soundtracks would be nice.

Occasionally they had good physical items, like the golden nunchuk to match the Zelda golden controller, the charging cradle for the 3DS XL, and cartridge cases.

Sorry to bump this. A little late to the conversation. How's everyone liking the game. See plenty of talk about getting the game not a lot about the game itself!

I've been playing daily since release day. I love it to pieces! Although it get's really redundant in adventure mode.. The progressive challenges in getting all the weapons and their upgrades proving quite satisfying for me. I liked the story but felt it banged on with to much OoT lore and rules to feel like a proper zelda homage. Felt like a history of hyrule as told by the Hero of Time.
