Got a Ring of Grandeur and he is so bad that I probably won't use him. I think I will do something else for a week or so.

But you never really find any of the good feti--Oh. OH! I thought you meant something else.

Carry on. Nothing to see here. In seriousness, I feel for you, Spoonless. I don't play hardcore characters ever since the time I almost broke a keyboard.

Well, save the RoRG until you can use it to get multiple set bonuses... the general idea is that the set bonuses make up for the poor stats on it.

And losing a HC character comes with the territory. I know whenever I make a character that it will eventually die, and I accept that. Still sucks when it happens, but it's not enough to make me play SC again.

Looks like they're down for maintenance this morning. Is there an offline mode?

You're right, of course.

It still pisses me off how the stats on it are almost the most useless combination possible and then on top of that every stat rolled a really low value. Makes me wish we could enchant 4 properties instead of 1.

Is there a difficulty setting or campaign that is perma-death?

I was unable to set my difficulty higher than hard last night. I got a message I'd have to restart the game to go higher.

When starting a new character you can check a box named "Hardcore". That will trigger a window explaining this gamemode.

Edit to add Hardcore has nothing to do with game difficulties like Hard or Expert. It's just a different style of playing.

"Restart the game" doesn't mean roll a new character, just restarting your play session. So, if you're doing bounties, you won't be able to do 2 bounties, then raise the difficulty and do the remaining three.

Ok. I might need to try 'hardcore'...maybe with the Demon Hunter. Kiting is pretty fun in this game.

Unfortunately, no. Which was the cause of much kvetching upon launch, as you can imagine.

Been rolling T6 with my old DH for a while now, up to p526 and GR37. Game certainly has its pros and cons, build diversity for later difficulties being one of its biggest issues, but I'd generally say someone should get their money's worth out of it. Though I can understand hoping for a sale, too.

I played last night on expert. I tell ya, there's still little challenge in actually 'winning' a battle without dying. If one were not interested in timing, I don't see how you could ever die/fail in this game.

As it is, I see the need for speed is a risk factor. So, I've completely abandoned my old mmo ways of carefully controlling the number of mobs I agro so as not to get over-whelmed.

Still, the games got me addicted. I like the simplicity of crafting, the fast pace and even my Templar companion. Though he complains incessantly if I shop for too long.

I wanted to bring this thread back to page 1. Smiley: clown

I beat Belial last night on expert - 3rd attempt. Fun fight. I didn't get the crafting drop I need, though, to continue skilling up in blacksmithing. Smiley: confused

Didn't play much in the last days. My Paragonlevel is 155 now and I really want to push it a bit further. Maybe in a week or so when I'm motivated again.

Also want to farm a new Royal Ring of Grandeur because the one that dropped has abysmal stats.

Game seems easier than I remember. I started a seasonal Witch Doctor and went Master 5 levels into the campaign. Upon hitting level 70, he went T2 without issues. I could probably run T3 with him, but it's painfully slow when I come up against elites with stupid abilities.

I'm torn between Crusader and Witch Doctor. The former is my darling, but the latter is much fun.

Got bored trying (in vain) to fill out my Tal Rasha set, and the Aughild's pattern wouldn't drop, so I basically hit a gear ceiling with my wizard.

So, for giggles, I started a fresh seasonal DH who's currently in the mid-60s. Aughild's pattern dropped in my first 60+ rift. Smiley: banghead

Wish the game wasn't so RNG based. It's not fun when you get stuck because something won't drop.

I got back onto my wizard to craft the set, and found that it's not the right Aughild's.

I finished first run through last week. I hit 50 when I killed Diablo. I've been trying to squeeze more entertainment out of the game. I'm gonna try and get the Witch Doctor to 60 (53 so far) and complete the story on hardcore. To this end I made a Wizzy - currently on Act 1 and level 8ish).

Otherwise I might be done with the game. By Sunday night, I was back to playing Hearthstone.

I like D3 in that if I have a half hour, I can boot it up and accomplish something and be done. Once in a while I get drawn in for longer sessions, but I burn out on it fairly quickly.

Witch Doctor is really enjoyable. Going Fetish Sycophants and Rain of Toads plus whatever else you want, and you can have a bunch of little dudes running around with you. Stack Life on Hit and use the Leeching Zombie Dogs to be invulnerable. I run Piranhado for CC and Haunt + Locust Swarm because it's luls.

My gear is crap - basically no game-changing affixes, so I'm just relying on raw throughput. I'm currently running T2 on farm.

Try a melee class to go with your WD. Barbarians are almost comic, the way they trundle about and blast everything apart. But I'm partial to the Monk - stack with "life on hit" gear and dex gems and grab whatever attack speed passives and fist weps are available and then just turn up the difficulty.

Mazra wrote:

It is. I keep coming back to it after 2-3 month breaks and it is easier now than it was just six months ago even. But, you can turn up the difficulty, so there's nothing wrong with that.

I'm all for multiple difficulty levels, but the jump from Master to T1 is a bit too high compared to the jump from Expert to Master, or Hard to Expert. And the three difficulty levels below Master seem pointless. I am by no means a good player when it comes to these games, but Master felt like Normal should feel like. Decent challenge on some elite packs, and otherwise just blowing through everything. And this is without Paragon points and stashed gems, etc.

I played the PC version at release, and I have to say I'm enjoying the PS4 version much, much more overall. PC release didn't really grab me, and while it had a lot to do with the auction houses, despite the removal of that element I still don't think I would go back to PC.

(That said, I do really hope they bring Seasons to the PS4.)

I've pretty much given up on softcore, which is weird because I always avoided hardcore in D1 and D2. My first HC, Distraction the demon hunter, died to Maltheal at lvl 49. I hadn't played the expansion yet and didn't know what to expect. I'm still not 100% sure what killed me, but I suspect I stood in the bad or got hit by an explosion or something.

HC #2, Hubris the crusader, is now paragon lvl 40 and climbing. Shield bash all the things!

HC #3, Impatience the wizard, lvl 47, scrubbed the floor with Maltheal last night. Revenge is sweet.
