I actually found a group of about a dozen gobs hiding at the end of a rift once. Killed all but one (Black Hole is amazing).

No portals. :(

One time I had a goblin following me around. I don't know how I got it. It didn't help me fight, but I liked to imagine it increased how much gold dropped for me.

How do you find these goblin portals?

Also I'll report Wizards are way op. They just jump up and down a couple times and everything is dead. Just started into Act III with my Hardcore Wizard. He's all full of himself. Bragging all the time. He'll die one day. That will shut him up.

Goblin Portals are random. You have to kill the goblin, and then there is a chance of a portal.

Elinda, the goblin following you around might have been from a legendary ring that gives you a pet goblin. It'll suck up white/gray items and spit out yellow/legendaries every time it's consumed xx amount of trash.

I think that's the guy I had. I remember an item with 'puzzle' in the name. I should read the descriptions of stuff, but mostly I just look at the stats.

It was on my Witch Doctor that I've not used for a few days. I'll check tonight if I have one. (I don't have the xpansion).

I'm tempted to buy the xpac for crafting. The death's breath I need to keep skilling up the blacksmith is a RoS thing I guess.

Do vanilla players get to do Adventure mode?

A friend told me the xpac was on sale. It isn't worth $60 for the campaign mode, as it is only 1 act, but adventure mode is fun for the dungeon grinding of gear.

I don't know what vanilla players means. The expansion is $40.00 for the regular version, but I think there's a $60.00 deluxe version you can get too.

Either way, it seems too much for an expansion. I'm holding out for now.

40 is retail though, right. I thought I saw it for 29.99 at various places. Maybe even 20 bucks at times. I'm waiting for a sale. That and heart of the swarm.

Vanilla = base game. No expansions. The original.

The $60 deluxe game just has added flavor. A few transmog items and a Goblin pet for WoW (and stuff for Starcraft).

But yea it looks like $40 is the retail at Blizz shop. Amazon and Wal-mart are showing it for $35 online. I thought a friend told me it was at $20 last week, but I don't know what site it was at.

I keep telling myself it's not worth the $40 for a 10 level expansion, as the original was $40. But then I remember that I got the original for free as part of Blizz's WoW sign up campaign.

Still not paying full price for it though...

This is how I got D3, so I didn't feel spending $60 on the deluxe version was bad...as I had to pay for a years worth of WoW ($180) to get the base game for "free".

Showing off now. Today's patch did wonders for me, I guess:

My Season Monk

Chest dropped out of a chest in a t2 rift. 1st group. Was happy, due to having the RoRG ring.
2 Rifts later, Weapon drops and then the boots. I now have 4pc thanks to ring.
Also got 2 other greens and 4 other legendary weapons that each were upgrades to each other.
I just took the gems out, so Dex ones will go back (was upgrading them...I need more green gems ><!)

People are QQing about Bloodshard vendor being so much more (x5), but w/e. I'm happy with upgrades :D

Kadala is the only thing I dislike about the game. RNG to progress is just meh. Blizzard largely did away with it in World of Warcraft, so I never understood why they'd implement 10-year-old loot mechanics in Diablo 3.

Somehow I don't mind the RNG in D3 much. Be it Kadala or the lootdrops from enemies. I only wish crafting was less unreliable. With more static properties of a given legendary and only the range of these properties being random. Like it was when crafting a runeword in D2.

I don't mind the RNG in this game. It is bat- **** stupid in Wildstar.
Kadala gave me some green gloves, Sunwuko's Paws. Would not mind getting 1 or 2 more from the set. Not sure if she will give me them, but I'll blow Bloodshard at Kadala in hopes.
I also did the culture the item is named after :D

The RNG is an integral part of the genre. RNG is almost the name of the game. If you don't like the RNG, you don't like the game.

I am a day late and the patch has already been mentioned in a previous post but here are the patch notes for 2.1.1. Witch Doctors should be very happy. Now I just need to get off my lazy bum and level the pet damage legendary gem.

Nothing that helps her kill stuff faster.

After playing the Wizard for awhile, I realize how slowly the WH kills stuff. Not that it's more difficult. She can stay alive longer too. It's just ...slow.... (in comparison).

It's not that simple. I don't dislike all the RNG.

This game's progression is built up around builds. In order to use a specific build, you need a specific combination of items. The ONLY way to get these items is by a mechanic similar to the claw crane game. But it doesn't stop there. If you're lucky enough to catch something with the claw, you then have to play the next claw crane game of "did my item get the right combination of stats?"

It's layers upon layers of RNG, and I dislike it. I have zero control over how fast I progress in the game. The games takes all my effort and skill, throws it out the window, and then rolls a 1,000-sided die to see if I get to go to the next level. I don't like it. Doesn't mean I dislike the game, though. I disliked the RNG mechanics in WoW, too, and I played that game for 10 years.

Wizard is a glass cannon. Witch Doctor is a tank-y caster.

If you find the pace of the Witch Doctor too slow, I highly recommend a Fetish Sycophants build. The good thing about this build is that you only need two skills to make it work: Fetish Sycophants passive and Rain of Toads signature spell.

Rain of Toads has the highest proc coefficient of all the Witch Doctor skills, allowing you to generate a lot of Fetish Sycophants. The Sycophants do a lot of damage, and their damage is normalized, so you can even go 1h + shield without crippling yourself.

The Wizard is a glass cannon. You live fast and die young. The Witch Doctor is a tanky caster. Doesn't mean you can't build a glass cannon Witch Doctor, though. Try the Jade Harvester build. I'm running a Harvester Fetish hybrid. My Sycophants can solo T1 yellows while my Locust Swarm (Pestilence) kills everything else. I run Haunt for the boss fights, and Piranhado for the 15% extra damage.

Since Kadalas RNG came up earlier in this thread here is a bit of number crunching for an estimated Blood Shard cost for each legendary.

I rolled a WD today. I hit 45 before I had to go to therapy. I can solo T1, and I think that is nuts.

I'm not even sure if I'm doing a decent build, but stuff dies, and I only use like 2 buttons lol.

My Zombie Dogs can apparently solo T1 elites on my level 40 WD. Went AFK in the desert outside Caldeum and came back to a chat message saying I killed an elite. I had dismissed the Enchantress because I was running some tests with fetishes and dogs.
