FFXIV Update helpFollow

Hello, I recently bought final fantasy 14. I am trying to boot up the game but it needs me to update the version. Every time I try to do this is waits for a long time, then says that it couldnt update the files and to restart and try again. It never goes anywhere. I have tried downloading the individual patches but that hasn't changed anything.

Does anyone know what I can do/try?
