So, a guy here at the Mission decides to pull a knife during an argument with another client. Police are called and respond most quickly. I lead Officer #1 to the back stairs to block escape. Officer #1 is following me with his service Glock out and ready. I'm instructed via radio by my supervisor to immediately go to the door on the opposite end of the facility to let in more police and direct them where to go. I open the door for those fellows and the first one enters cocking his shotgun. I contemplate finding a safer job; like a TNT factory or something.

As it turns out the shotgun had an beanbag load and the police tazed the guy rather than shooting him, but still...

PROTIP: Don't resist arrest when there are 14 cops available to arrest you. You will lose (and get tazed - twice Smiley: laugh).

If you're not having sex, this is probably the biggest thrill you're likely to get. Don't quit your day (night) job.

In case it's not clear; the Hosers in the title are the asschamps who make me have to call the cops in the first place.

Beanbag rounds are fun. I always pick up one or two when the opportunity presents itself. Tried, and continue to try, to convince an armorer friend of mine to make one with a beanie baby. So far all I get is empty shell cases thrown at me.

Sigh, one day ...

Something similar happened to me on Saturday! We got a female client in and she was sky high on something. She decided to get naked and try to hump a couple male clients. When staff intervened, she got into the office and started brandishing a pair of scissors. Cops get called and usually, their response time is under 3min at our facility because they know the kind of people we have to deal with. They had to tase her and mace her enough to subdue her and get cuffs on her. I wrapped her up in a hospital gown and they carried her out to the car. My co-worker, who doesn't smoke, had his first cigarette that night!

I'm almost afraid to ask where she got the scissors from.

Not in the slightest. 34y/o female that looked older than my grandmother.

My co-worker had been cutting out new client labels to put on their charts when the commotion started and he left them sitting on the counter in the office.

You're in good company, here in Canadia (Montreal) a couple of years ago an unstable man was wandering the street with a knife and slashing garbage bags. Beanbags or Tasers? hell no, when the police had finished shooting, not only was Slasher dead, they'd taken out an innocent bystander with their laser-like precision accuracy. The locals were not happy at the police or the medical system that boots people like Slasher out into the street to fend for themselves. 15 or 20 years ago Slasher would have been in an institution but cost cutting that stuff made it look like suddenly there's fewer unstable people and more room in the hospitals. Admins got a bonus and Slasher got boned.
