Can we get an option to have disappear when not moused over. Also, change the Zam menu to the center, it's annoying trying to hit the back and forward buttons on the browser and the menu keeps appearing.

Thanks,

Yther Ore.

I just lost the #1 function I used - the drop down menu to switch between sites. I constantly switch between XI and XIV. Now I have to do three or four mouse clicks instead of just two. Smiley: glare

Can it be disabled or something? It's a giant black bar that does nothing and scrolls down with everything I do. It's huge, clashes horribly with the WoW skin and uses up precious screen real estate.

It looks fine with the WoW classic brown. Smiley: tongue

But seriously, it is bugging me as well and I don't like change. Smiley: frown

Yea. It needs to hide, or scroll or something. And I thought some functionality was removed, but wasn't sure what it was, since I didn't ever use the header, other than my name menu, which appears similar.

EDIT: And at the very list, take it off of User wiki pages. I use my page to reference stuff, and have a quick list of links I use alot, and none of the Zam menu are those and it just gets in the way.

Yther Ore.

Can you add the forum drop downs to the header?

Look at it, it's huge and draws your eyes to only that and it's almost as large as all the firefox and windows stuff combined on my screen.

also, the middle point of the M in ZAM sticks out underneath the bar.

Is the idea to have this header replace the current drop-down menus?

I don't mind it that much, even if it's a bit... thick... and... solid... but it'd be nice if we could customize the ZAM Network list. I don't personally care, because I use the auto-complete functionality of my browser to access websites via the address field faster than any drop-down menu can take me, but I'm sure some people - like Cat - might find it useful to not be presented with random sites of no relevance.

For instance, I don't ever need to visit LolKing, TF2 Outpost, DestinyDB, or DayZDB, because I don't play the games, and I don't plan on ever picking them up. Their presence on the list is just noise; noise that could have been occupied by something of relevance to me, like D3head, Rifthead, or Torhead.

Anyway, looking forward to the final product - assuming this isn't it, because that would be the most pointless static header ever. I'm hoping they'll make it thinner.

Edit: The color actually goes well with the Classic WoW theme, but the dark gray color looks ridiculous on the Parchment WoW theme.

Yeah, that needs changing. I just noticed it and was about to mention it, because it gets annoying real fast.

I don't like it, either. Part of it is the chunk of wasted real estate, another is as some have noted where it kicks off clicked links. I'd also like to propose that, if possible, the side scroll bar begins under the bar to achieve a somewhat better visual synergy.

Everything Mazra said.

EVERYTHING.

BTW if you guys need a volunteer for User Acceptance Testing, I'm a professional and would gladly volunteer some time to the network. I know you're caught between the desire to modernize the site and the reluctance of the rest of us to change. But with proper UAT you could anticipate some of the reactions people are having to these changes, and make adjustments before pushing something onto the live website that everyone hates.

I don't mind the concept of the bar, but the implementation needs some tweaking, clearly.

Hideous.

Annoying.

Just stick the thing under "Forum Search" in the "Forums" drop down and be done with it.

This. The idea of the bar is OK, but at this time it looks and acts badly. It doesn't have all the same options, and it covers the top part of the screen instead of being the top part of the screen.

It's still there, and it's one mouseover, two clicks. The FF sites are at the bottom.

What others said.

The new drop-down menu in the upper-left scrolls off-screen (1360x768, the only resolution I can use) and I can't even see the whole list and there's no scrollbar or anything, so it is impossible for me to access other ZAM forums without using bookmarks or history because I can't reach them.

Could we return the drop-down menus to the way they were, please?

I can't even SEE those:

Well, OK, I can _barely_ see FFXI at the bottom, but not XIV.

Have you increased your font size? That happens to me too. Press CTRL - (minus sign) and see if that fixes.

That fixes the list (The link for XIV barely touches the taskbar) , but makes all the fonts on the entire page smaller and harder to read, to where I have to squint at some of the smaller text.

Was about to say this exact same thing. The drop-down list is too long to fit on my screen (my laptop only goes to 1366x768) and there's no way to scroll it. It's literally impossible for me to choose anything from the bottom of the list.

Ctrl - makes the list fit, but it makes EVERYTHING smaller and I don't want that.

I feel your pain. I have my browser font adjusted for my bifocals (CURSE YOU, 40+!) and it's a pain. For now I CTRL- to get where I need to be and CTRL+ back.

I'm talking to the devs. The problems here are more to do with ZAM than with the bar itself. I've a ticket in to see if we can get some relief. In the meantime I'm dropping links to those low sites I get to a lot in my bookmark bar.

Meanwhile, if anyone have any NEW bugs, I'm watching this thread.

ctrl+0 puts everything at 100%/normal size, if it doesn't fit like that it's an issue on the site's side of things.
