Stake out your empire and rule it - justly but sternly. The homeless population is sure to surge -you can be king.

Seriously though, bummer. Get help.

So I guess I should update a bit since Bijou took the time to call and talk to me a few weeks ago. I was actually shocked when I answered my phone and the person on the other end addressed me as "Kuwoobie." I half expected it was someone I had banned from my minecraft server calling to threaten me.

I managed to land a job finally, after nearly 6 months being out of jail, where I spent nearly 5 months just waiting for a trial. Some of the men in there have been waiting two or more years without a trial... The experience has really opened my eyes to how broken and corrupt the criminal justice system is, but that is a story for another day...

I just finished my third day delivering pizzas. I think this might actually be the best job I've ever had. I get paid daily and make more than I ever have. This happened immediately after my appointment with the DMV, where I renewed my registration and driver's license after also getting the body damage fixed on my car. (My wife wrecked it while I was in jail...) I'm not with my wife anymore, and I have not seen my son in almost a year... My mother wants to get me a good attorney to fix all of the damage she has done to me and my family, but we are basically waiting for my grandfather's inheritance. He has been on his death bed for a long time now. He also knows nothing about what has happened to me because we want him to live his last days in peace.

I don't feel anger towards my wife, or anyone else involved in the scummy thing they've done. I still love my wife like she is family, and I dream of her and my son almost every night when I sleep in my tent in the woods... I have a new girlfriend who loves me despite everything, and always understands me completely. She and my mother and siblings have been my lifeline, and I'd never have survived without them.

Things are slowly getting better.

I love my new job. I wish I had gotten into delivering pizzas a long time ago. Everyone I work with is super relaxed, which is a huge contrast from every other job I've ever had. Basically I'm getting paid to drive around a small radius of the store, listening to loud music and collecting money in exchange for hot food. I make about $120 per day in tips and a small check at the end of each week for my hourly wage which feels more like a bonus.

When I started ,there wasn't even an interview. I just walked in and told them I was the guy Michael told them about, who they call "Shoeman." (Michael is my brother in-law, kind of. He was never married to my sister but they have two kids together, and are no longer together). They had me fill out a few forms and copied my driver's license and insurance info and I started immediately.

I've accumulated a lot of cash. It doesn't fit in my wallet. I need to open a bank account but it doesn't seem possible without a valid mailing address. The joint account I had with my wife was overdrawn by more than $600 while I was in jail, then closed. She also claimed my stimulus check, the paycheck from my last two weeks of work before I was arrested, and about another $600 from my youtube channel before closing the bank account it was tied to... We're still technically married, even though I haven't seen or talked to her in almost a year. I have no idea what's going to happen or how this is all going to work out.

Finding a place to live is incredibly difficult, but should now be slightly easier now that I have proof of employment which many places require- asking for the last two months of pay stubs and such before they'll even talk to me. Right now it almost feels like a good idea to continue living rent free in this patch of woods on city property and saving. I probably would, but I feel pressure from my girlfriend to find a place as soon as possible, which is understandable. This place is kind of dangerous and filled with crack heads screaming at each other and shooting guns all day and night. It also never stops raining, so everything is getting flooded and covered with mud.

My friends who I used to play pool with added me to their family's service plan using my old smartphone I was able to get back from evidence (after the police detective snarled and barked and said they'd find evidence on it "even if it was deleted" then admitted later there was nothing on it after all. Whoops. She didn't apologize though for putting me in jail for 4.5 months...) This is good, because without GPS my job would be a lot harder, if not impossible. I guess in the old days, delivery drivers were people who drove around and socialized with friends and such.

When delivering pizzas (or anything else) always - AL-WAYS - make an positive comment about something you see upon arrival.

"Beautiful flower garden!"

"Who's winning the (sports game)?"

"Those are some sweet (corn husk dolls, or whatever)!"

Really, take the slightest interest in what you customer likes and you will almost always get a better tip.

Back when my cousin was delivering pizzas, he once delivered to a house where a swing party was going on. So basically naked people at the door and more clearly visible farther in the home from the door. Just curious how your advice would have applied.

Doesn't matter. I got fired today. Something about a background check coming more than a month after I've been working? I don't understand. Like with almost everything surrounding my circumstances, I don't know what happened, and I will likely never know. Otherwise I was doing an excellent job, and I outperformed everyone I worked with. I had no disciplinary problems and I showed up every day on time.

It was the best job I ever had, and the only job I was able to find in the 6 months since I got out of jail. I don't really know what to do anymore. I'm still homeless and can't find anywhere to go. I'm glad I didn't though, or I'd just be even more ******* I used all the money I would have paid in rent on an app called RobinHood (this is a referral link by the way if you really want to try it. I know there's like a dozen other apps that do the same thing though you're probably already using), and currently hold a portfolio worth about $1000 up from the $700 I paid into it. If I just had more money I could do so much more with this. That was kind of my plan with the job I had...

I forgot to mention. I have a new phone number. The phone you called me on before will no longer charge and will remain at 0% until the end of time. I'm reluctant to post my phone number on here again however after dozens of people called my old phone asking for someone named "Kaitlyn" It could have been a coincidence. I don't know. You can PM me if you want though.

Just so I'm clear. You're homeless and your plan was to dump all of the money you made delivering pizzas into a stock app?

A small portion set aside for investing does not equate to all of my income.

Tough love. The truth hurts. etc etc. I'd think priorities would be to get off the streets, but hey that's just me. Also, I'm pretty sure all states have some sort of service to get x-cons jobs without having to lie about their background.

But also.... I'm thinking of playing around with Robinhood. So if Kuwoobie if you have some sort of referral I can use, I'd do that - pm me.

I last dumped some money into Fundrise, a real estate investment program. I've had my account about 3 years - it's done pretty well.

Did you all get your free bitcoin monies from Biden, Musk et al.?

So you're saying because I'm homeless I shouldn't do anything with my money? The amount I would have been paying for rent is only about a quarter of what I was earning. Considering the amount I was able to put in so far has nearly doubled and grows by about 5-10% with every trade I make... I don't know what else to add to that. I don't know what your point is you're trying to make.

I already linked it above.

As far as getting off the streets, etc. There just isn't anything. All of these programs are worthless. I did job training at a place called Career Source and I did some fun classes there for free, but otherwise it didn't accomplish anything. Any programs I contact about finding help for housing are no help at all, or a scam. I've heard talk about people who rent single rooms to felons/sex offenders, then move in 6 or 7 other guys into the SAME SINGLE ROOM, then charge them all $700 a month each to live there. If I wanted to do that I'd just go back to ******* jail and not pay anything.

As I am writing this, I get a call informing me that I have until Wednesday to leave the camp I'm at now-- the so called Tent City. They are kicking everyone out of that area, so I guess we're all just going to be roaming the streets from now on, laying in gutters and alongside buildings and whatnot. I always imagined that as being really homeless, and the homelessness I have seen so far was only tier 1 homelessness.

I kind of feel like something good might come of this somehow. Like maybe someone in my family will start giving a **** and do something to help that could change something. My biggest concern now is that I'll likely be living in my car after Wednesday and not in a tent off a hidden-ish path where I am mostly left alone. I have learned that lingering in my car for too long invites all kinds of harassment and annoyances-- people knocking on my window and begging for money and such. I had the misfortune of pulling up once and having two gentlemen climb into my passenger seats before and it was extremely unpleasant. I ended up playing nice with them and driving them to wherever they wanted to go and gave them all the cash I had so they could buy their "molly." Since then I've been successfully avoiding them, although I think they may have been arrested as of about two days ago but I'm not sure. People come and go from this place all the time, and for the most part I stay out of the loop and keep to myself because I want nothing to do with them.

No point really, my priority would have been a roof rather than investments but if other factors are involved I'm sure you're making the right decisions for yourself.

I've been homeless, it sucks.

Having the car is a godsend, somewhere to lock up belongings and sleep away from the rain. I've done it with and without, it's definitely better with.
