Hoping to Finish WoTGFollow

#1 May 24 2013 at 10:40 PM Rating: Excellent
Hey all,

I'm looking for some help to get through the WoTG expansion. I'm on Darkness Descends (all ready for the fight), so I'm pretty far along in the missions. I don't mind going back a fight or two to help others catch up. I just really want to get through these missions, and most of my good in-game friends are long gone from the game.

I'd love to schedule a short-term weekly static until we get this done. I'm very available after 6 p.m. pst Mon-Thursday.

Would anyone be interested in joining me in this endeavor?

I wish I had time to dedicate to a static (especially this one!), but my work hours change in the summer, and I usually end up playing late morning/early afternoon.

That being said, I could use some help getting past the Cait Sith Ceithir & Atomos fight. I'm 0/2 right now; tried to solo it as PLD/RDM and as WHM/RDM.

Drop me a line, if I'm free I'm more than willing.

From the point of the missions you're at, could easily knock the rest out in a few hours. It's only 3 battlefield missions, the last 2 nation quests, and a chunk of running around getting cutscenes.

That's a lot further back than where he is, unfortunately >_>

Still think you should be focusing on CoP atm anyway though!

I'm getting very little response here and on my linkshell forum... I'll see what happens this weekend, and then I may just throw in the towel.

It sucks, because I'm so damn close, but I just can't find help these days to save my life, and I'm getting tired of paying monthly fees to just be disappointed.

That does suck, because I really would like to help you. I want that Moonshade Earring for my WHM.

Hello? I said I'm willing D:

WotG is a joke nowadays; a single DNC can solo almost all of the fights, and the ones that they can't, they can succeed by adding in a single mage/support.

Well I am totally free after 5:30 p.m. tomorrow (Wednesday), Thursday and Friday, and then at pretty much anytime Saturday and Sunday.

Ralra and Fyn, what time would be good for you guys to meet?

I don't really schedule anything in the game and just do things on whims, so the times I am free vary. I try to keep busy in the game most of the time, but a lot of the time I'm doing mindless stuff and don't mind breaks from the monotony.

Just throw some tells in my direction when you are online, and I can probably fit you in somehow

^^^ What he said.

My work schedule changed for the summer, so I frequently log on in the mornings now. This Wednesday, however, I should be free after 5:30 Central if you guys want to do something then.

I'm still stuck on Distorter of Time, though. If you guys can help me get past that, I might be caught up by Saturday, and will probably be able to do something in the afternoon, unless my wife drags me to the in-laws.

If you are on Fate in Haze, that means you need to do two nation-specific quests, and then you can move onto Scent of Battle.

Fynlar and I were going to do my mission tonight, but I'm totally willing to do your stuff instead. I'm guessing a couple of 99s can duo the first of those two nation quests... not sure about the second one... but I'm sure we can find some quick help for that.

I really want to finish WoTG at a pretty deliberate pace ("taking it slow" is why I still haven't finished it, years after the fact), but I'm willing to help get you caught up!

I just finished Distorter of Time. I'll see how far I can get tonight.

Good news: got my cutscenes up to Darkness Descends. All we need to do is get to the Throne Room [S] and whack a couple Spitewardens.

Bad news: Saturday evening may not work for me; my wife got tickets to go see the new Star Trek movie. How about earlier in the day on Saturday? I'll probably be on around 10:30 AM CDT until around 5 PM, minus a short lunch break somewhere in there.

This would probably be a bad time to mention that Thayos and I are about two major battles and a half dozen or so tedious "go get this for Cait Sith" quests away from finishing WotG.

Not sure what was more fun: watching Thayos Chainspell nuke Count LOLBifrons to death, or Fynlar punching things into oblivion with his Delve H2H weapon.

I totally would, just for you. Which nation's storyline are you doing? I'm finished with San d'Oria, but I think I can go back & do the other two. Pretty sure Thayos & Fynlar agreed Windurst had the best one.

That's cuz Windurst is the best. Period. :3

I think I'm doing Windurst's storyline... Viva Windurst!!!

I'm on When Wills Collide. Currently logged out inside Walk of Echoes. I'm assuming I can get the CS, leave, then come back to finish the fight later.

Ralrra, I am almost caught up on my cutscenes! My goodness, that's a crapload of cutscenes! And lots of running.

Susperia, I'd log in and help you with mission fights, too! The storyline of WoTG is pretty good, imo. Yes, the Windurst quest line is infinitely better than Bastok's or Sandy's... it's not even close. It's like the development team had a great idea for Windurst's story, and then kind of crammed in the other nation quests as afterthoughts.

It isn't over yet either, following When Wills Collide there is another series of (far less intriguing) cutscenes to fetch
