She's a singer, shut up.

I went to see Green Inferno cause I was bored this weekend. Pretty much hit up any movie I can when I'm stuck in a hotel like this. Helps that this place has a relatively cheap ticket price.

I think Pold would love Green Inferno. Seems right up his alley, at least in the subject matter and reaction to it (in real life) from certain groups.

College activists decide to go to the Amazon to save some tribe and stop deforestation. They "succeed" and but then get stranded in the forest and captured by the tribe they were there to protect. Then starts the Gore.

If you were into Eli Roth (Cabin Fever, Hostel) and the inspiration for this, Cannibal Holocaust and other Italian Cannibal flicks (many listed during the movie credits), you'd probably get a kick out of it. But I think it's probably a good TV viewing movie. Unless you really like the genre you probably wouldn't find value in paying to see it. The good thing is I would guess that any showing of it would probably be light on the movie goers. There were 10 people in the showing I went to

Unfortunately, it's not my kind of movie. But yeah, I'm very amused by the reaction it has gotten from said groups.

Flea speaks a smattering of Quechua. Mostly curses she picked up from her grandmother, I believe.

Are we talking about the Eli interview about how SJWs are quick to judge and react without having all the information, and the day after there were petitions to boycott Green Inferno doing just that? Because that's probably the best thing to come out of this movie.

They're also kick butt early game warriors. So there's that. We were talking about Civ, right?

Does Civ have a Quechua civilization? Granted, I largely skipped 3 & 4 but I'd assume they'd be "Inca".

Don't remember which game version it was (probably IV), but yes, I believe it was the early game unique unit for the Incas. Replaces the warrior unit with one that's significantly tougher, giving that civilization a serious edge early on. At a time period when most civs are going to avoid conflict because it's such a wash resource wise, the Incas can gleefully tear through their neighbors. Capturing a city or two from those around you that early in the game can totally change the relative power curve of your civ. Unfortunately, that benefit fades quickly once better units become available, so if you play the Inca's, you really have to push for an early aggressive start to capitalize on the unit while you can.

Ah. Google confirms that the strategy even has a name: Quechua Rush.

How's that for a derail? Smiley: tongue
