Decided to return to FFXI after 5 year break in need of a Linkshell or 2 to get back on my feet, Im sure all of mine are dead by now and friends I played with gone.
What are the things to do now I left when abyssea got to be the norm then went onto FFXIV when it came out. Still on XIV also but its a tough like so far. wanted to come back to XI.

My Job levels as far as I can remember are mostly 80+ in PLD SMN NIN RDM my mains and a few other jobs close behind.
Seekers of (Alduin)Adoulin is this a worth while getting expansion or will it be to just unlock the two new jobs? curious about that one.
I will be getting back on, if all goes well with calling SE this week so hoping to find a new LS home

SoA is fun, and necessary to do half of the end game content now.
You will want to unlock Trust right away. This makes soloing kind of fun.
You will want to start working on Record of Eminence as soon as possible too. Sparks are your friend.
PLD would be the job to focus on, if you have Relic and/or empyrean shields.
NIN, SMN, and RDM have lots of fun new updates too, but are not in high demand for battles. Although it is sick some of the things that can be soloed very fast with astral conduit. With some cure potency for RDM you can Haste2 everyone and heal.
BRD, COR, RNG are hot jobs right now.
Zoom to 99 in abyssea as fast as possible. Then either do the sacred kindred crest battles for chapters 1-5 for 109 (Artifact/Relic) gear, or do some grinding in adoulin (reives and coalition tasks) to purchase the 117 gear from peacekeeper coalition. Get some RoE gear too. Once your item level is over 110 you have a chance to do some of the end game content (delve, skirmish, etc, and merit point battles) to get some nice 119 gear.
The game has changed a lot. I still can't get used to SCH do 700+ dmg with water 1.

thanks for the info I will be returning this week if all goes well. XIV ill hang onto the Id but its just not for me right now. I think i was in a LS with you long ago as well Erdrick, Last question are the avatars free yet to keep out?
