This item drops in Nisse's Lair, not Myrkwood.

Or possibly both locations. But I know for a fact I got one in nisse's.
Aug skill increase

Just a clue, from a healer who spec's in Augmentation. Having a + to Augment makes your buffs bigger. The guy down below who suggested it makes the spell take 2 less mana to cast is obviously clueless about how DAoC skills work, and shoud go back to whatever it was he was doing before he decided to post a bunch of nonsense.

If you have a buff that adds 20 to strength for example, and you train in Augment once, it will add 21 to strength, and so on. So having a +2 Augment item means all your buffs will go up by 2. I'm not sure of the exact effect on the haste or speed line of spells, since they use an unseen type of modification that we really have no way of testing.
#Anonymous, Posted: Jan 05 2002 at 6:16 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Unfortunately, your example with the strength spell appears to be incorrect. Since the Armor Factor, Str and Dex buff are based upon your level, and not the number of spec points you have invested, putting spec points in Augmentation will not make these spells more powerful. Getting higher level will not make them more powerful until you get the updated spell at the predesignated level.

I don't know about Augmentation, but I do know that Mending skill does add to heal "damage". I have 31+5 Mending and my Greater Reconstitution (415 Heal) heals 523 every time.

Just wonder what does this item. I would love to get my hands on one.

The aug line is mainly for soloing. But don't discount the effect of having multiple types of healers in a group.

Aug is far from useless. There is no other profession in Midgard which currently has a haste spell line, which is conc based and not on an effects timer. (Runemasters only have a melee damage adder, it has no haste component I am aware of).

As for the item, if gained I wouldn't pass it up. Extra piety is always a good thing.
What?

Most Aug spells are concentration base. Not power base anyways?
it is really pointless
# Nov 25 2001 at 11:52 AM Rating: Default
really augmentation in general is pointless, any spell you get with aug, others have BETTER spells.. skald has a better run (hell, I think everyone has a bettter run spell) shaman can bugg con like a aug healer, but also buffs str with the SAME spell, that leaves the attack speed spell, but a runemaster gets a speed spell that ALSO adds damage... I'm a level 37 healer with aug as a spec, trust me, do not waste your time... nothint worse than having all your spells overrun by level 10's... (and I'm not kidding, a level 3 skald run spell is faster than my level 27 spec)

***(and I'm not kidding, a level 3 skald run spell is faster than my level 27 spec)***
Reply = just real quick, how is it possible even to have a lvl 3 skald? Unless im playing on some strange server Guinevere where everything is different, you can't specialize in a line I.E. skald until lvl 5 therefore making it impossible to have a lvl 3 skald let alone one that can run faster then you :)
boost your aug spells...
# Nov 22 2001 at 3:22 AM Rating: Default
higher pac doesn't effect resists at all btw, however higher aug will make your baseline buffs have greater effect (str, dex, af)
The point of this would be...?
# Nov 22 2001 at 1:52 AM Rating: Default
I don't understand why you would ever want an Aug boosting item (other stats excluded). Having higher Mending lets you heal more, having higher Pacification/Subteranean lowers resists, but what the hell does having a higher Aug do? If it would let you get new spells, then I could totally see why you would want one; but it doesn't, so I don't.

Anyone sesplain this to me?

It decreases the amount of mana needed to cast an Augmentation spell by 2.

Most Aug buffs are concentration based anyways not power base so it doesnt make since.
