why would a ranger (RANGE) want to use a short bow

i've played both a ranger, then started a warden and short bows suck at range....even if my ranger could use a short bow i wouldn't....EVER..

Ok, for all you whiney little rangers out there look at these 2 bows

Siabran Recurve Bow - Dam 8.4 Spd 4.6 Quickness/Dex 2 Recurve Bow 3 - Result of the Quest for Glory quest - low 20's quest, plus ONLY rangers get this reward from the quest

Silver Recurve Bow - 10.5 Dps, +3 Recurve, +7 Dex - this is your friggen 30 epic reward, and the reason so many rangers are accused of being machine guns

NOW stfu, check often for quests, and realize that rangers are spoiled rotten when it comes to bows. The +2 recurve bow skill on this is to basically give blademasters a better chance of hitting a mob and doing damage, yes they can never train the skill but Recurve Bows skill IS hibernia's bow skill. Oh yeah, and last comment... if you have such a problem with the bow a blademaster gets stop crying and go make a blademaster.

This sucks. rangers can't use the best bow here? that's f**ked up. And btw if it's a short bow it sholdn't add to recurve skill. If it is recurve (or uses recurve skill) rangers should get it. It's not enoff that rangers have to pay to use their weapons (a good bit of cash too) but we've been screwed over by not even getting the better bows. ***** YOU VERANT!!! err i mean mystic. sorry, i'm used to screaming at verant for all the ways they screwed up eq. (which is no where near as cool as daoc btw)
