Doh! I"ve been using mine for two levels now! Been wondering when the proc would occur, thanks for the info. Great hammer.

Forge Darksteel weapons proc at level 42. From what I have seen, the proc is a blast of lightninng that does an average of 95 damage. The blast looks like the lightning from the Thane spell they use to pull, blue arcs that hit the mob in the head.
We have also found darksteel weapons lose a LOT of durability when repaired, even when repaired by weaponsmiths with 7 to 8 hundred skill.
Dont use your darksteel until 42 :)
