DISCLAIMER: Your Steps and Tasks may be different Speak with Rakban, the traveling shaman in Fort Atla, loc=27246,10884 Gotar. Story: You have probably had many adventures by now, (Your Name), of this I am sure. But I am willing to wager that you have yet to come across something that can shear you of your enhancements. Well, it so happens that I knows all the secrets of shearing. Would you like to learn about shearing? Summary: Continue speaking with Rakban at Fort Atla and listen to his lesson on buff shearing. Quest Goal: Listen to Rakban's buff-shearing lesson. Rakban says, "Well then, let's get started shall we? After many hours of prayer, practice, and devotion, Shamans learn the ability to shear enhancements off of the enemies. Unfortunately, Clerics of Albion and Druids of Hibernia have unlocked the secrets of shearing as well. however, we can't simply shear everything, there are restrictions]." Rakban says, "For one, we can't shear enhancements off people who have casted those buffs themselves. This includes rare enhancement items or potions used by someone. Only thos who have had enhancements placed on them by another person can have them sheared. Secondly, the least powerful shears aren't able to [remove] the most powerful enhancements, regardless of how someone got them." Rakban says, "I should mention that there are some other ways to have buffs sheared off of you. Thase that have chosen the path of Battlemaster and passed its trials can shear a random buff from opponents. Heretics have a defensive proc that has a chance to shear a random buff as well. Valkyries, if devoted to Odin's Will, can remove dexterity/quickness and acuity buffs from their opponents. Finally, some rare cloaks from Celestius have been known to shear unfortunate enemies. But, none are as proficient as a Shaman. Well, or a Cleric or a Druid to be fair. Only we could [show] you how at any time." Rakban says, "I can demonstrate the power of these shears for you if you'd like? Oh, and I wouldn't be a member of the Temple if I didn't offer you a buff [token]first." Rakban says, "Hand the full buffs token into the Fort Atla Shaman near the bindstone and return to me. Please make sure to drop any self-casted buffs on yourself before doing so. Speak with me again after you've handed her the token!" Quest Goal: Hand the Fort Atla Shaman the Full Buffs Token. Quest Goal: Observe Rakban's demonstration on shearing. Rakban says, "Hellos again, (Your Name)! Now, just to be sure, this [demonstration] will not work unless you have turned in the buff token to the Fort Atla Shaman and received her Deftness of the Realm buff. If you already have your own dexterity and quickness enhancement, you will have to drop it first and then hand in the buff token to the Fort Atla Shaman. (NOTE: To drop a buff, simply shit+right-click its icon at the top of your screen. Rakban says, "See there, I sheared your Deftness of the Realm enhancement right off! Now you'll have to keep an eye out for any Clerics or Druids when you're in the frontier, otherwise you'll be completely [buffless]!" Quest Goal: Get another Deftness buff token from Rakban. Rakban says, "Now, now, I wouldn't just send you on your way after taking your buff. Take this and hand it into the Fort Atla Shaman for another Deftness of the Realm enhancement."
