Speak to Arthostam in Albion's Inconnu Crypt at 17.7K/26.4K.

Historian Algarak says, "Hello (your class here). Haven't we spoken before? Ah, I can't remember. My head is so full of things these days, it is hard for me to remember all the [passing faces]."

Historian Algarak says, "Ah, but I have not properly introduced myself, and that is certainly not my way. I am Historian Algarak, a keeper, if you will, of the Inconnu way of life. My people come to me in [dire times] for help and advice."

Historian Algarak says, "Aye (your class here). Oh, but how rude of me! I'm sorry, but I don't even know your name. What is it?"

Historian Algarak says, " (your name here) is it? Well, it is very nice to meet you. As I was saying, it is in dire times that my people come to me for wisdom in certain situations. Specifically, they wish to avoid [repeating history]."

Historian Algarak says, "I don't think you are familiar enough with the story of the Crypts. If you will permit me, I would like to [explain] what has happened here, to the best of my knowledge."

Will you let Historian Algarak explain to you what has happened to the Crypts? [Level 35]
You have been given the History Repeats Itself (Albion) quest.

[Step #1] Listen to Historian Algarak as he gives you the history of the Inconnu and the Crypts of Arawn. If he stops speaking with you, ask him to [repeat] himself.

Historian Algarak says, "I am always pleased when someone takes the time to listen to the history. I feel that if everyone just took some time out to listen and learn the history of anything, mistakes would not [repeat] themselves."

Historian Algarak says, "Many seasons ago, Lord Arawn gave us a vision for our future. To reside with him for all eternity in the Crypts of the Inconnu, a special city built for Arawn's [worshippers and beasts]."

Historian Algarak says, "It would not only house us, but special magical artifacts Arawn wanted to keep from the prying eyes of mortals. He feared that the surface dwelling inhabitants of Albion would try to ensnare his beasts, his beloved hounds and boars, as well as try to steal away the Cauldron, from which [life eternal] can spring."

Historian Algarak says, "If such a legendary thing was to fall into the hands of a single, evil person, all of Albion could be [lost]."

Historian Algarak says, "It was through a young Inconnu named Jaro'yen that Arawn sent his visions of this magnificent city. In order to keep the dead safe, Jaro'yen began with the Lower Crypt first. He built a magnificent kennel to house the hounds and boars of Lord Arawn, as well as a secret area to house the Cauldron. This pleased Lord Arawn [immensely]."

Historian Algarak says, "But the secrecy of the cauldron's resting place was not enough for my Lord. He commanded that guardians be found to be eternal sentries in the room with the Cauldron, lest the defenses of the Inconnu against outside forces not be enough to keep the Cauldron from falling into the [wrong hands]."

Historian Algarak says, "Fromo all the Arawnites, Lord Arawn chose nine Maidens to guard the Cauldron for all eternity. Using his magic, he summoned forth the Maidens to Annwn to take up their stations as [Guardians] of the Cauldron."

Historian Algarak says, "Jaro'yen gathered up his most trusted Inconnu allies and began to explore the areas that surrounded the [Lower Crypts] of Arawn's most magnificent city."

Historian Algarak says, "Jaro'yen and his group of Inconnu pierced through the thick coverings of a strange underground forest and found, to their surprise, three things. The first two were entrances to two other underground cities. The third held the entrance to a cave which would [ultimately] herald in the fall of the Lower Crypt"

Historian Algarak says, "The creature that had for so long lain in the cave now came forth. Given free access to the undead as well as those Inconnu who lived in the Lower Crypt, the creature wrested control of the spirits and souls of those it could from Arawn and forcibly [took control] of the Lower Crypts"

Historian Algarak says, "So many Inconnu were lost, their souls agonizing under the torment of this creature from the cave. With all its newfound might, the creature began to barrage Arawn with wave after wave of attack, trying to force its way into the secret room where the Cauldron lay dormant. The Maidens steeled against the forces and [drove] them back."

Historian Algarak says, "Lord Arawn, furious that he had lost control of not only his own people, but the undead that resided in his kingdom as well, fought back with the Inconnu in the Upper Crypt. He stole away the Maidens and the Cauldron before the creature could get its [clawed hands] on either."

Historian Algarak says, "The war has now been raging for many moons. The agonized Inconnu, beseeched by their new, dark lord, fight in mumbled screams and tortured, fevered spurts. Those loyal to Arawn have been able to hold off the attackers for now, but even in our most triumphant of battles, there lingers the overshadowing doubt that we will [lose]."

Historian Algarak says, "Rumors have surfaced of late about an Inconnu, beleaguered by his tortured mind, who has stumbled upon information pertaining to the now hidden Cauldron. Should this information turn out to be true, well can not even imagine the devastation that would be wrought by these angered creatures should they get hold of the [Cauldron of Lord Arawn]."

Historian Algarak says, "I do not know the name of the Inconnu in question, but I do know he resides in the Lower Crypts. There is an old frind of mine, a former pupil, who I have recently lost contact with who would have more information on this situation than I. His name is Guard Clorlin and he was fighting in the Deadlands. Take this note to him. If he is still alive, he will be more than happy to send someone to take care of this menace. Be safe on your way there (your name here). The Deadlands are no place to make any mistakes."

You receive the Note for Clorlin from Historian Algarak!

[Step #2] Make your way to the Deadlands of Annwn. When you are there, find the safe spot and look for Guard Clorlin. Be sure to give him the note.

Guard Clorlin says, "Welcome to the Deadlands of Annwn (your class here). I hope you're not here for pleasure."

Guard Clorlin says, "What's this? A letter to me? Hrm...Let's see who it is from, shall we?"

Clorlin undolls the scroll and reads it, murmuring under his breath.

Guard Clorlin says, "It's from Historian Algarak. Interesting. I see he has sent you here to verify whether the [rumors] about that one possessed Inconnu are true or not."

[Step #3] Wait for Clorlin to finish reading the scroll from Historian Algarax. If he stops reading it, ask him if he is [finished].

Guard Clorlin says, "Aye, they are true, as sad as that might be. Even more disheartening is the fact that this was someone Historian Algarak [knew]."

Guard Clorlin says, "His name is Algaine, and he is a powerful magic user. I know nothing about the ways of magic, nor do I intend on ever learning. It is said that he has been able to kill men with one cast from his hands, but I don't [believe] that."

Guard Clorlin says, "He resides in a small area off the Lower Crypts. It looks like a somewhat uncompleted area, but I don't know for sure. If you want to get to him, you'll need to use [this]."

You receive the Scroll of Teleportation from Guard Clorlin!

Guard Clorlin says, "It's a scroll of teleportation, imbued to take you to a safe spot within his chamber. Algaine needs to be killed. He is a threat to the safety Lord Arawn's [magical cauldron]."

Guard Clorlin says, "If you haven't brought anyone with you to help, I suggest you go about finding some friends to help you take care of Algaine. He is powerful and does not suffer fools. Come back to me with his head as proof he is dead and I will reward you for killing him. Good luck."

[Step #4] USE the Scroll of Teleportation to take you and your group mates to the area where Algaine is residing. To USE the scroll, right click on it and type /USE. You MUST be in an Albion Catacombs zone to use the scroll.

You have entered History Repeats Itself.

[Step #5] Find Algaine the Possessed and destroy him. Be sure to retrieve the Book of Plans. If you are defeated by Algaine, return to Clorlin in the Deadlands to secure a new teleportation scroll.

You hear murmured voices coming from all around you.

Algaine the Possed says, "Ah! My precious plans! She will ruin my spirit!"

The Book of Plans, Algaine's Head, and a new Scroll of Teleportation appear in your inventory.

[Step #6] Use the teleportation scroll you retrieved from Algaine. In order to use an item, right click on it and type /use.

[Step #7] Take the Book of Plans and Algaine's Head to Guard Clorlin in the Deadlands of Annwn. Be sure to give Guard Clorlin Algaine's Head when he asks.

Guard Clorlin says, "You're back (your name here). all right, show me your proof. Give me the head of Algaine."

Guard Clorlin says, "I'm glad he is now out of his tormented misery. Did you happen to find a book or anything on him that would have given him the clues he needed to find the cauldron?"

[Step #8] Now hand Guard Clorlin the Book of Plans. If you have forgotten where Guard Clorlin is, he is in the Deadlands of Annwn.

Guard Clorlin says, "Ah, a book. I will have the scholars look over this carefully. Say? What's this [stuffed] in here?"

[Step #9] It seems as though Guard Clorlin has found something [stuffed] within the pages of the book. Wait for him to examine them.

Guard Clorlin says, "Hrm...Looks like some papers, say, here's one with Algarak's name on it. I think maybe you should take these to him up in the Inconnu Crypts. Here is your reward (your name here), for a job well done. Now please take these papers to Algarak in the Upper Crypt and let him know about his old friend, Algaine."

You receive the Stack of Disheveled Papers from Guard Clorlin!
You are awarded 1,231,407,827 experience!
You are awarded 81 silver and some copper!

[Step #10] Make your way back to Historian Algarak in the Inconnu Crypt. Be sure to hand him the Stack of Disheveled Papers.

Historian Algarak says, " (your name here), I did not expect to see you back here. What can I do for you?"

Historian Algarak says, "What's this? Hmmm....Oh no...Algaine...My old friend. So it came to this, did it? Alas, I wish there was a way to cure these Inconnu of their possession, but I'm afraid there is not. Thank you for this (your name here). Now, a [reward] is in store for your heroic deeds."

[Step #11] Wait for Historian Algarak to [reward] you.

Historian Algarak says, "I have received many a thing in trade for my wares, as well as payment for my advice to the different councils around here. I have just placed them in a room of my house where they collect dust. I think it's more appropriate that you take one item for helping to end the misery of my old friend Algaine. I do not condone murder, but this was a mercy killing. We could not let him continue on in that state, and he could not be allowed to penetrate the defenses of Lord Arawn's Cauldron Guardians. Thank you (your name here). I am happy to know that my friend no longer suffers as the others do. Be well in your travels. I am sure we will speak again."
