I did this and A Present for Mumbles and killed 2 birds with 1 stone.

DISCLAIMER: Your Steps and Tasks may be different Lyllyn, Underground Forest, loc. east of obelisk Lyllyn needs you to do a small errand for her in the Frontlines. She wants you to slay a savage hound and bring back its head as proof the deed is done. Once you zone into the Frontlines head south, then east along the wall. At loc. 23886, 33354 you will see a tunnel south. Go through that tunnel to find a savage hound. I advise you to bring a friend! The savage hound is purple con at lvl 47. (Note: it is possible any Savage Hound will work for this quest) Once you've killed the hound and retrieved its head, return to Lyllyn for your reward. You are awarded 1,125,000,000 exp! You are awarded 1 gold and some silver! At level 47 lvl 50 received 1,570,082,091 exp. Champion level experience earned: 785 |

I hunt in the Frontlines regularly. After rezzing someone a few times, I asked them what they were doing. After they told me this quest. I politely directed into the Queens Lab entrance to the "COORECT LOCATION" to complete this quest.
Seems many go on a death hunt for this quest.
Whoever wrote this quest directing people into that DEATH tunnel needs spanked! lol.

I just did this task as well, and killed the savage hound in queens labyrinth. Coming from Underground forest right when you zone into Queens Lab, you will see a savage hound (Cons blue to lvl 47) kill this hound and not the one that cons purp like the journal says. way easier and still got 1,125,000,000 EXP.

I finished that quest without going to the Frontlines. Killed an Savage Hound in Queens Labyrinth and got the Head there. I gave it Lyllyn and *zing*, Quest finished. :o
