First off you must complete A History in Stone and be friendly with the town of Grimspound. After that, the character in the cave named Dannen will give you this quest. Moran is located in the very SE corner of the map, E of Gole. He's hidden pretty well behind some trees so clear the front of it first. Can be done with a FG but does give BG credit.
