Story:
Hail, traveler! Perhaps you need a dent hammered out of your armor, or a new head for your hammer? Well, how about some jewelry? I see the look on your face (Your Class), but believe me, I've been trained how to repair or craft things besides weapons and armor.

Indeed, I have learned how to fashion a pendants of intricate beauty, and by adding certain special reagents I can make them talismans of power. I have the precious metals already but the reagents I require are not something I keep in stock.

The centerpieces must be the heart a terrible beast, and the set piece for it must be polished bone. Fortunately, these can be acquired from creatures found here in Camelot Hills.

Summary:
Elvar Ironhand of Cotswold will craft you a talisman but he requires some reagents for the enchantment first.

Quest Goal: Collect the heart of Sephucoth.
Quest Goal: Collect polished bone.

14 silver 33 copper
Crystallized Heart Pendant
Crystallized Heart Talisman
Crystallized Heart Necklace

Throatripper Body

I know this is slightly off the subject, but how do i get Throatripper's body (not pelt) so that I can get a trophy statue made of him?
Tarnished Silver Torc
# Jan 25 2003 at 6:52 PM Rating: Decent
The torc is a drop (pretty rare) from river sprites in general. Got one just killing them for exp, nowhere near the boat (that I was aware of).

RE: were can i find sepucoth

The easiest way to find him is, go to the north end of the bridge from cotswold to camelot, then follow the river west until you see a little sunken boat along the north shore. There will be a bunch of river sprites, spritelings, and drake hatchlings hanging around. Kill them till Sepucoth spawns and then take him out. I recommend bringing a friend if you are below level 7 or so, as they WILL gang up on you. Sepucoth always has a couple of sprite buddies hanging around. My Paladin had a tough time with them until Level 7, when I was able to solo them.
I got the Fiery Crystal Pendant, but a Paladin really has no use for it, so I stuck it in my vault.

There's a standing stone you can see on the road out from Prydwen Keep that has a trio of Large Skeletons. You can also find them over at the fallen tower just east of the bridge where Frip is.

This is a Fire-Wizard quest. Not worth doing
unless you are a wizard who likes to spec in
Fire magic. Sell it to a fire-wizard.

Sold Bone I think
# Nov 13 2001 at 1:44 PM Rating: Default
I have been trying to get the bone to finish this up, but I bet what happened is I sold it without knowing it. How do you re-do part of a quest or remove the quest to start again?
RE: Sold Bone I think
# Nov 19 2001 at 12:45 PM Rating: Default
You can not sell quest items. So you must not have actually gotten the item.
RE: Sold Bone I think
# Nov 25 2001 at 10:00 AM Rating: Default
You can sell quest items. One would think someone would know what they are talking about before they answer a question.

Quest items usually only sell for 1 copper though, so it's usually not a good idea to do so.

RE: Sold Bone I think
# Dec 28 2001 at 2:13 AM Rating: Default
Follow your own advice. You can sell the REWARD item you get for completing a quest, but you can't sell the DROP item you need to get the REWARD item. I.E... if Sir Whatshisname tells you to get the head of Whosit the goblin and he'll give you a magic sword of Hoodoo, then when you get the head of Whosit you CAN NOT sell the head, but when you turn in the head to Sir Whatshisname and get the Sword of Hoodoo, the sword can be sold.. usually for 1 copper. The original poster was referring to the mob drop item, not the reward item. You should know what you're talking about yourself. I just love correcting people who arrogantly, but incorrectly, try to point out someone else's supposed error.
A fix for the bone spawn problem
# Nov 13 2001 at 12:30 AM Rating: Decent
Ok, I figured something out in regards to getting the polished bone to drop off of the Large Skeletons. The problem for me was that I had multiple quests that required the polished bone at some point, the Throatripper quest and the Heart quest.

I was trying to finish the Heart quest before I finished the Throatripper quest and that was keeping the polished bones from being dropped (they are strictly a quest item). I easily killed 40 large skeletons without a drop before I figured this out. I had never been able to find Throatripper (reasons why under that quest) and the game wasn't allowing a polished bone spawn until after Throatripper was dead and I had turned in his pelt to the seamstress in Ludlow, this included the polished bone needed for the Heart of Sepucoth quest!!

After turning in the pelt for Throatripper, I went and whacked a few large skellies and *poof* I finally had a polished bone. I finished Throatripper totally (since it was first) then went back and beat up some more large skeletons. *Poof* I got the second polished bone that I needed. Both quests finished properly. I got the fiery pendant out of the deal.

# Jan 19 2002 at 5:38 AM Rating: Default
I am also on the Throatripper quest, as well as te heart of Sepucoth. I've killed at least 25 large skeletons with no polished bone.

It would appear, as someone stated earlier, that you need to complete the Throatripper quest before you can complete the Sepucoth quest.
RE: A fix for the bone spawn problem
# Nov 13 2001 at 12:32 AM Rating: Default
Oh yeah, I did this quest at Lvl 10 when all of the large skeletons conned gray to me and weren't dropping any loot on the ground. The bones still popped up in inventory.
Broken?
# Nov 11 2001 at 5:20 PM Rating: Default
I completed the first step of the quest with no problem. I got the heart and turned it in, and got the second part about gathering the polished bone from a large skeleton.

However, I have killed approx. 20 large skeletons and nothing has happened. No polished bone. Is something wrong here?

I have also noticed that at the point I did this quest, the Large Skeletons were grey to me. Does this have some effect?

Thanks.
RE: Broken?
# Nov 12 2001 at 10:44 AM Rating: Default
I also killed a whole bunch of large skeletons and haven't gotten a polished bone yet (I'm currently a lvl 10 Friar, just trying to finish the quest). There was a ca. 7th level cleric who killed Sepulcoth right before me and I talked with her about the quest as she went. She killed about 3-4 skeletons before she got her polished skele bone last night. I must have killed 12 or so before I quit for the night. Significantly there were several 7-8th level characters camping the main large skeleton spawn points before I logged out. All of them were trying to get the polished bone.

So maybe it just takes some luck to get the polished bone (10% chance or something?)? I'm going to try again tonight to just whack a bunch of large skeles and see what happens.

And for the questions of Sepulcoth. He has almost always been right at his spawn point when I've gone over there. If not, I just need to wait about 2 minutes for him to show up. He does have lots of minions. I took him out solo at lvl 10 but barely got taken out by his minions.

Suggestions: If soloing, do it right after you level up. That way you can get killed and you won't lose a bunch of experience. So long as you take out the boss man, you will get his heart in his inventory. Also click on his loot quickly and you will receive the apple brandy cask. After that you can try to fight, run, or whatever but you have the goodies to do the quest.
Trouble

I killed river sprites next to the boat with a little group for about 2 game days, and the boss guy never showed up. I leveled almost all the way from 7-8 just on sprites, but nothing. Did this quest get broken, or am I doing something wrong?

Did this quest the other day with my level 8 Theurgist...died twice. As others have mentioned, the whole area comes alive and aggroes you when you attack. I tried clearing the area out first but it's hard to get everything. In any case, as long as you kill Sepucoth, the heart appears in your inventory....no need to worry about looting.

After doing the quest, she made me a pendant, but it is a first level item. Is this normal? Being gray, the item doesn't work for me. I suppose it's worth a few coppers if I sell it.

# Nov 14 2001 at 4:08 AM Rating: Default
Grey magical items will work for you. The problem is that there is a bug where a magic item you receive is broken and needs to be repaired before its magic works. Take it to a smith for repair.

ATTENTION SPOILER INFO: below contains info on how to live and get heart hehe

This mean lil booger is right across the river from the cemetary. he has quite a following. when i first tried to kill him the entire camp agroed from far away i am a level 11 wizard and got beat down Fast. best tactic i found was pick off the greys and whittle down the camp until you can get him with maybe one or two others Btw the draagons Agro as well. so clear them too. make sure ya loot the apple brandy so you can do the sunken treasure quest too. i got a firey crystal pendant as my reward being a fire spec wiz. nice item +1 to fire based power and +1 int not too shabby. GL all

Avoid the embarrassment of being killed by grey river spritelings! Bring a friend with a sharp sword and slash them all to ribbons as quickly as you can. Sepucoth will rush you in the process and you will toast him faster than George Foreman's grill!

I did this quest at level 8. I was concerned because the large skeletons were gray to me and wouldn't drop loot. But after killing one, a polished bone appeared in my backpack. Stats are +1 fire damage +1 intelligence.
Where does the river sprite spawn?

I killed 20+ river sprites just west of where cotswold village is. Which group of Sprites must you kill to spawn sepucoth?
RE: Where does the river sprite spawn?
# Nov 26 2001 at 5:17 PM Rating: Default
Sepucoth is on the Camelot side of the river, surrounded by minions, near the sunken boat on the side of the river opposite the graveyard.

Follow the river a bit south, to the spawn by the sunken boat.

the fiery crystal pendant she makes gives a true caster +1 power (if you don't have fire magic) and +1 Int. My wife's cleric only gets the Int bonus when she wears it, but my Cabalist gets Int and Power bonuses.

It's a bit ironic that the river sprites sometime drop a silver torc that gives +2 power.

It says in the text you 'might have to kill..' Well, they are actually the trigger for him to spawn, so you have to kill river sprites to do the quest.
A hint, if you do it solo, stand so you can run towards Camelot Gate. If any chance to survive, that's the way to run ;-)

On the large skeletons, there are 4 spawns of them in Camelot Hills. Closest to Cotswold is by the black monolithic stone on the plains between Cots and Pryd Keep. Next up is by an other black monolitic stone, across the road to the south from 'bandit tower' (aka 'ant tower'). Then comes the ones near the dungeon and lastly all around the deamon ruins near the river. Haven't tried the last ones, but the others all drop the bone, but you have to kill trice methink.

Eowyln is a die merchant in the house closest to the bridge to camelot (on your left if you are facing the bridge) (The guy for the sunken cargo quest was hanging out in front of the house accross the street, but you don't have to talk to him to get the item he wants, it is normal loot)

To get to the boat, you turn left at the bridge to follow the river. The boat is on the far side, just ask to get into what ever group is hanging out there.

The Large Skeleton is near the dungeon, they spawn around a little henge on a hill near it. (I unfortunatly don't remember exactly where this is)
There are also some Large skeletons that spawn on a hill with a single pillar, we killed these several times and they didn't drop the bone we wanted, so I don't think they are the right ones.

Take your bone back to the Eowyln and she will take it. I had to hit the escape key and talk to her again to get the pendant.

It is a +1 Intelligence necklace.

The large skeletons on the hill with the pillar the right ones, they just dont always drop there bone. It usually take me 2 or 3 kills to get 1 bone.
