DISCLAIMER: Your Steps and Tasks may be different

Talk to Alomali (listed between #5 and #6 on the daatlas.com map) in Vasudheim standing under a tree near the water. He will tell you to swim out to the island behind him (it is a barren sand island with a single runestone on it) and fetch him a water strider leg. Doing so gets you a some money and XP. Two further notes. First, be careful on the island, rock crabs are lethal at this level. Alomali's dialogue hints at further quests from him at later levels.

Alomali says, "Hail to thee. I seem to be in a [bit of a snitch]."

Alomali says, "My master has asked of me [a deed] I cannot complete."

Alomali says, "Aye! He asks the impossible! He wishes me to travel to [Striders' Isle] and return to him t he leg of one of [the beasts] there."

Alomali says, "It is the island behind me. A solitary rune stone stands there."

Alomali says, "There are these spider-like beasts that inhabit the island. Their legs are [of great use] to those in my practice."

Dialog box: Do you accept the Copius Striders quest?

You have been given the Copious Striders quest.

Alomali says, "If you could bring back to me on of these legs I would be forever in your debt!"

[Step #1]
Seek out and slay a water strider.
(Note: The water striders are yellow/orange to a level 10, and they can be found on the west edge of an island (38.7k, 20.7k East Svealand zone).)

[Step #2] Return the strider leg to Alomali

Give Alomali the strider leg.

Alomali says, "Ah! Thank you so much! I hope this small amount of coin is enough to compensate you. I may have other tasks in which you could help. Return to me later when you have gained more experience and I will tell you of them."

You have finished the Copious Striders quest.
You are awarded 50 copper!

Reward:
  Reed Bracer (Mid)

The water striders are yellow/orange to a level 10, and they can be found on the west edge of an island (38.7k, 20.7k East Svealand zone).

Level 10 was rewarded the Reed Bracer, 3 silver, and no experience.

This is now a level 10 quest. It also appears that the striders have moved their location. I found a bunch around Ft. Atla by the shore, but they all conned red and purple to a level 11...

Reward for Skald was Reed Bracer. 16 Hits, 4% Cold Resist.

I'm a level 16 Norse Thane.

I think the quest used to be broken for some class/race combinations, but that seems to be fixed now.

I have 4 characters: Troll Thane, Norse Skald, Dwarf Berserker, and a Dwarf Runemaster. Alomali has NEVER given me a quest, and it sucks cause I would like to do the Klippa quest. I have no idea what the deal is, if I try to talk to him he basically says he's too busy to chat.
not diff

My level 11 Thane got the quest today, killed a grey strider on the isle behind Alomali and got the strider leg and gave it to him to complete the quest.

Talked to him again and was told to go talk to Lilib in the fort by dvalin who tells us to go kill klippa which spawns on the beach right next to the close ant group. Rev, a higher level crab will join in so be ready.

I'm now waiting to turn in the claw so it is not fresh to get the next part of this series of quests so Lilib will tell me to go kill rev and bring his claw to get the chain shirt instead of geting the sword as a reward.

I did this quest as a 6th level warrior. It is definitely for lower levels - one 4th level or a pair of 3rd's.

** My reward was 50 copper and NO exp. ***

The island is directly behind Alomali with a single stone and no trees. There is a Giant Water Strider that is aggresive and conned blue to me. The rest are Water Striders that conned grey. 4 followed the mother and the rest are scattered - they are neutral so they won't attack you without the mom. The mother stays on the SW part of the island and the babies are scattered all along the W side. It is an easy task to stay away from the mom and take out a single strider to complete the quest. I tried to take on the mother and babies - all the babies swarmed (about 8 of them) when the mom called for help. I killed her but the babies avenged her a few seconds later and for a short while there was two stones on the island :) When I went back to prey I saw a 7th level Warrior take her on and kill all her babies. He went down to about 50% health - he was really decked out in some gear, though.

There is a second part to this quest once you hit 11th. Hail Alomali again and he will tell you to seek out a smith named LiLib to the west of vasudheim and he will make you an item. I have yet to find this LiLib. Anyone seen him?

Lilib is at the tower just outside Dvailin. Don't know anything else, never had either quest, but I had a FEDex task to bring him something, that's how I know.

Lilib gives you the Klippa's Claw quest. You need to find the named crab Klippa and bring Lilib it's claw back so he can make something for you (what he makes, I have no idea). He says that she is on the other side of the bridge east of the tower and comes out at dusk and dawn. I spent a lot of time onthat shore since then (since it's right across from Nisse's lair) and haven't seen it. The quest also warned to look out for Klippa's mate Riv. Now I have seen Riv before in the past, but I can't remember where. I think it was near the shipwreck. Anyone else find Klippa?

Great XP bonus

When i did this quest at level 7, the striders were about one hit one kill. however, they do swarm on you and usually you will have one-2 giant striders in the group. these were green to me at level 7.

On the upside of all this, if you live, the xp more than makes up for the inconvenience. This is considered a new area if you havent hunted on the island before, so you get a bonus(i got 5%) and also, there is a swarm bonus on these creatures. The 3 giant striders i killed gave me about 400 xp apiece even though they were green. about 200 of that was bonuses.

Becareful. The striders on this island often travel in a tight pack. There is a mother strider mob they group around and she'll kick your butt if you are within the level range for this quest. Usually there are one or two striders who aren't in the pack and you can pull them singly. It only takes one strider to do the task, so it shouldn't take you long.
