Hideo Kojima at Gamescom 2014

A new Silent Hill, and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain coming to Steam.

It seems gaming icon Hideo Kojima has been very busy. At this year's Gamescom, he came to present the newest footage from Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. The cheeky trailer shows off some of the newest elements of the classic cardboard box:

We've now learned that both Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain are coming to Steam. This is fantastic news, as the first MG game on PC was Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance in January 2014 –one year after release.

Next was an unassuming video for P.T.; a teaser was immediately added to the PlayStation Store.

Turns out P.T. stood for Playable Teaser. And what was the teaser for? Surprise, a new Silent Hill game called Silent Hills! The best part: it's coming from Hideo Kojima and Director Guillermo del Toro (Pan's Labyrinth, Hellboy, Pacific Rim). It will also feature actor Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead), and will run on the Fox engine – same as Metal Gear Solid V.

While unexpected, it's not a complete surprise. Kojima has been expressing his interest in working on Silent Hill for years now. It looks like he got his wish, and now everybody wins.
