Sanya Clarifies a Few Things

Sanya titles her post, "Just So's We're Clear" to make sure and get everyone's attention and that you understand what she is saying on the Camelot Herald. Three quick things for you guys, error logs, door upgrades, and the change to relic stealth: First - error logs. If your client crashes, in your Camelot directory there will be a file called errorlog.txt. At the top of each crash entry is a date/time stamp to let you know when the incident occured. Let's say you leave the game not of your own choosing right... now. Go check that file - if the most recent entry does not match the the current time and date, your client did not crash. Rather, there was a server problem ***or*** there was an internet problem. If you DO have an entry in your error log, please copy it and send it to us at cambugs@mythicentertainment.com (or to me if you prefer). Clean out the file every so often to get rid of old entries. We love getting these error logs - they alert us to problems early. Remember, only you can prevent flame fires... uh... never mind. Seriously, please send those to us. Second - upgrading doors. Doors now "remember" being upgraded from patch to patch, and it's very important to the defense of your realm that they be kept in the best condition possible. However, much of the email I have received today revealed a flaw in our documentation. To upgrade a door, you need woodworking skill and supplies. You target the door, and type /upgrade. Next, and here's the part a few people did not know, you need to type /repair. The upgrade command increases the number of hit points a door CAN have, but does not automatically give the door that number of hit points. You need to repair the door to its full potential. Why do we do it that way? Because originally, people would upgrade a door mid-battle just before it broke, and it would cause the door to heal to full AND be stronger than it was. This is seriously cheesy, so we changed it to the upgrade/repair routine. So remember to do BOTH to all the doors you're bolstering. The relic keeps do need your active involvement - the guards can't do it all! Third - there seems to be a little confusion over the change we have (to being stealthed while carrying a relic) going live next week. Using the tactic of sneaking away with a relic on the live servers is not a bug or an exploit, and people doing so are not breaking any rules. We're changing it because it was having a serious impact on the long term RVR game that we did not and could not predict. (Anyone who is omniscient is invited to submit a resume immediately ;)) But it is a change, not a bug fix. And since the current system is not bugged, using it is not an exploit. If you feel that your relic was wrongfully taken through the use of exploits or bugs, I DO welcome your emails and links to discussion threads. Just wanted to let you know that thieves sneaking while carrying a relic is not an exploit or a bug... until next week. Then, if you see it, I'd like to know ASAP =) Thanks everyone!
