Get YOUR Quest In DAoC

Sanya's offering you a great deal! Do you think you could write a quest for Dark Age of Camelot? Good. Enter the DAOC Once Upon a Time Contest. From now until Wednesday, February 6, 2002 at 11:59 PM EST, you may submit your tale for consideration. The winning story will appear in the game. Here are the rules. Please note – your entry will be discarded unread if you do not follow these guidelines. Remember, I’m the one who sorted through the guilds that applied to be included in the beta. I know perfectly well how many thousands of entries I’m going to get, and believe me, any excuse to narrow the field will be welcome =) Absolute Rules, No Room For Debate: 1) The subject header of the email must say ONCE UPON A TIME. 2) You must be a paying player of DAOC, with an active account. 3) There is a limit of ONE contest entry per person. 4) Include your real name, and your account ID name. 5) No vulgarity, obscenity, or anything else that would make your tale rated R. PG 13 is the absolute limit. 6) Plagiarism is bad. Don’t do it. Guidelines: 1) Don’t send a quest, complete with steps. Just tell us a story, using the places and models within the game. If your story involves a beautiful maiden named Mildred, be sure to tell us what class and race Mildred is. 2) Try not to write an epic. Anything over a thousand words had better be BRILLIANT. 3) Use a spellchecker. Use a grammar checker. Get a friend to proofread. Demonstrate that you put some effort into your submission. Other: 1) We reserve the right to edit the winning submission for its in-game format in any detail we deem necessary. 2) All entries become the property of Mythic Entertainment. The winner is not entitled to any further compensation beyond his or her prizes. 3) Finalists will be announced on February 15, 2002. The winner will be announced when the quest goes into the game (no hard date set at this time). There will be no response to any inquiries along the lines of “Did I win?” Trust me. Prizes: 1) First place – the winning story will appear in Dark Age of Camelot as a quest, on the Herald in its original form, and the winner will receive a DAOC T-shirt autographed by the development team. 2) Runner-up – the runner up story will appear on the Herald and the winner will receive a T-shirt autographed by the development team.
