Yesterday's Producer Notes

Matt Firor explains a few things like the tem melee, some additions to the friar, recharger npc's and newtwoks issues. Take a quick peek to see just what is on his mind. Here's an update on a couple of issues that are causing some questions and concern. I'm going to address questions about today's Pendragon archer changes, Friars, concentration buffs, and more. There was some confusion about the term "melee" in the 1.46 Pendragon release notes. Here's the new description: "Archer bow shots will now hit more often in group situations - the group melee "to-hit" bonus (which applies to weapons as well as bows) has been increased for archer bow shots. Archers (as well as any melee attacker) has more of a chance to hit a monster based on the number of people in the group. Archer bow shots now have a bonus over and above the regular melee bonus on "to-hit"." Next week we are going to add some enhancements to the Friar. As planned right now, we're going to give them additional defensive spells (details next week), raise their training points, as well as some other smaller tweaks. Existing Friars will be given all the training points they "would have" gotten had their character had this new number of training points from the beginning. This will make Friars much more well-rounded as they can spec in both combat and magic. This will be in version 1.46 before it goes live. We're also going to raise to 20 the number of concentration buff spells a healer/cleric/druid/etc. class can have active at one time. This too will be in 1.46 before it goes live. Network issues: A couple of times a week there seems to be an event around 3-4am eastern time where some, if not all, people connected to the game get disconnected due to some sort of network problem. We haven't pinned this down yet, but we are working with our service provider to find out what's going on and ensure that it doesn't happen again. We'll keep you posted here as soon as we get any more information. Recharger NPCs: there's a bug in the live servers now where recharger NPCs will not charge items correctly. We know about this, and will fix it in the 1.46 patch when it goes live.
