Description

The Den of Rancor is a network of caves that snakes deep beneath the Temple of Uggalepih. The dark tunnels are filled with various types of Tonberries, most of which hate the five races of Altana. However, the elder Tonberry in the Den of Rancor may have important information to share with daring, spirited adventurers.

question

Okay I've searched the forums and i can't seem to find a clear answer. How do I get a paintbrush? Is it in a chest, dropped of a mob, is it a key item or a regular one? Can someone please clear this up for me?

Get a key. You need that to open a door close to the exit out to the jungle, the first one on the way to Den of Rancor. In there you check the box on the table, might have to check the 3 bookcases too.

I haven't been able to find info on how to get the map for this area. I know it has to do with treasure coffers, but I don't know how those work. Might anyone be kind enough to explain?

Thank you! <(^.^)>

Rancor is actually a term for a type of deep seated ill will or hatred and is, curiously enough, a synonym of Enmity.

ok, I know I;m a geek. ;-)

There's an entrance to this place from Yhoator. It's off the NE exit from the Bloodlet Spring, J-7 to be specific. You can exp at this entrance at around 67. This is to the best of my random knowledge so I may randomly be wrong, although I am quite certain that this is correct.

"Rancor" means basically the same thing as "hatred," only usually in a stronger sense. This area is where Tonberries allow their rancor for everyone fester and grow before setting off to stab someone horribly in the face.

Has to do with the Tonberry's religious vendetta against worshippers of Altana.
