Trio Strategy RDM/NIN BLM/NIN BLM/WHM

This mob is much easier fought in smaller numbers, as you dont have a million people bouncing hate around, and allowing him to drop all his mines everywhere.

    Pull

Basically me (RDM/NIN) would Diaga the room straight north of the pop, and begin to link every single Qirin I could till I got to the North West Teleporter. Then I would zone. Very easily done, a few of them are RNG's so they dont even catch up, nor will the others till u maybe try to zone, but a 350 stoneskin will hold off about 5/6 hits plenty of time to tele. If you get in trouble just sleept the thf's.

Then our blm/whm (simply for reraise in case) would pop the mob land a DOT then the blm/nin would stun him, as he can be stunn'd repeativley. Just to give them some distance then they made their way through the are I cleared to the room marked E on the wiki Map. Once you get here the rest is easy..

    The Fight

However had hate normally one of the blm's would run him around the lower or upper teles on the west side of the map then back through the E room. As he ran the mob back int othe room the blm and my rdm would begin nuking so that as he passed us and made some distance we would land our nukes at a considerable distance allowing time for a stun then beign to take off with the hate switch. I would land a bio III just to ensure he didnt go unclaimed. Then the other BLM would rest MP while the other kited him around NW or SW tele and come back to the room. Took about 20 minutes to kill him.

    Do's

Do keep him fairly close when kiting as he will come straight across the tele if you get a huge gap and will start being the crap out of you.

Do remember to use stun if you get in trouble to gain more space

Do keep DOT's on him as he can become unclaimed if not action isnt performed for a few minutes.

Do practice your timing as to land your nukes at as much distance as possible when you run it through

    Do Not's

Do not ever chase him, he will go pull links and drop bombs behind him. If he runs off just stay in room E.

Do not stand directly in the middle of E when running him through to nuke , just move a little bit to the side to avoid setting of the mines if he drops some.

Good luck!!

I fought it today, as a party that we thought wouldn't be able to take it, but found some very interesting facts about it.

We were WHM RDM BRD and BLU. All but the WHM were subbing Ninja, and we feel that someone should sub RNG or BST so they can keep track of the Qiqirn, if it isn't too much of a liability to that person.

Start by popping CHG, and fight him in the corridor where you pop him. When he starts to run, run in the opposite direction, and head to the teleporter spot where you come in from the other parts of the ruins. (F/G-8/9) As you get there, you may have one qiqirn come in, but you can try to either keep him slept, or kill him.

Now, you wait for CHG to come for you. You will see other qiqirn come towards you, but they will always stop at the doorways, so providing you rest and/or stand away from the doorways, you should be fine. Then all you have to do is wait for CHG to come to you, and do a little damage before he runs off. Spells like Disseverment and Thunder/Blizzard III were helpful, but you could always use jobs like SAM or SMN to do damage as well.

This strategy is helpful because it means you can kill the NM with a small group, although it will take a long time, and I'm sure many black mages will be annoyed with their prey coming towards you all the time! The only con would be if CHG turned yellow, and someone claimed him, but as long as you use some move on him as he runs out of the room, this should not be a problem.

A mage who can DoT with movement speed gear can easily kite him into the central portal at F/G-8/9, just land a DoT on him first (Bio II, don't bother with poison), he'll run around the corridors aggroing, if you stay in the kiting room (at the big portal that doesn't go anywhere), the links will usually depop.

If they do not depop you can also just run off along the corridor and keep kiting till it loses aggro. If you do not have movement gear but are popping it to kite, you can just have someone out of PT grav the qiqirn, it'll also deaggro once it's too far away or past a door (blms who solo in this zone will tell you it's what breaks their exp chains).

The most important thing is to not run after the NM. When it prepares to run, it drops bombs so people don't follow it closely. These can do quite a bit of dmg. When it runs off, just go to the door of that portal room opposite the one he ran off to, links will depop at or before the door. If you're too close to where he exited, or if you're following him, you may prolong a link's aggro and have to kite it.

Fought him today three times. First time ended in dismal failure, but last two times we beat him np. From what I've read and experiences, here's what you need.
Requirements: 2-3 Nukers (Preferably blm with AM II)
1 Healer
1 Melee with provoke to tank it
Strategy: Clear out rooms north and south of the pop room (Qiqirn respawn seems to be pretty long. Managed to get 2 fights without the qiqirn respawning). Have person spawn NM and immediately have tank voke. Then mages get a quick nuke, maybe a few DoT spells on it, since it will immediately run away. It will run to the north or south room, dropping bombs behind it. Do not follow it! He poops bombs out like no tomorrow, and does this often. The damage can really add up, but can be cut in half by Shell (Maybe barfira too. Have it up, just in case. SS is also a must.) Wait for him to run back into the room and have melee attack and mages use their highest nuke (AM II works really well). Soon he'll run off again, lying bombs behind it, then it will return. Just wait for him to return, and nuke him all over again. Easy win, just make sure whm keeps up heals, because bombs will go off in the room and hit you several times during the fight. The NM also uses a move that locks out a few armor spaces for a while.

Many other strategies say to train it in the inner circle and use the portals to zone out the additional qiqirn links, but we tried that the first time, and the NM doesn't actually follow the tank, he just runs wherever, aggroing mobs from other rooms. By just staying in the room, he never went further than the room north or south from where we were.

No luck on the drop, but plan to do it again soon. Good luck all!

Just got the sword to drop for this for my blu ^^. I second this stragy due to this nm will not follow you very far before he runs off. My group tried to pull to the portals after clearing a path, however the nm would keep running off before we made it, so brought the fight to him. Also want to add summoner also works well on him, try to avoid close range dd to avoid bomb damgae. I ended up staying away from the nm and using magic fruit and diamonhide on the tank/mages due too much bomb damage. Barfira and shell really help lower the bomb damage, also might want to consider difusion and saliene coat if you have it avaiable.

Also sorry you didn't get the drop better luck next time :/. My ls did one pop to see if we could take it droped the sword and the rare/ex item for tier 2 znm. I know more blus in the ls will probaly want it so probaly end up poping it again lol.
