Quotes

Ghostclaw Gharn (Vulmane), Dahknarg: "We followed our prey, we hunted, and we remained close to Marehras."

Swiftfang Torsh (Vulmane), Dahknarg: "The spirit boulders are many things to us; places to put announcements of marriage or the passing of certain rites. They are also an honor to Marehras, or the world spirit, the All-Mother. -- We paint them to show our thanks to her. Life and nature are both beautiful and honored to us. We show our reverence by making things of beauty. A rock is bland dead. When we paint the boulders, the spirits come to see our work. Many times they also awaken the spirit within the rock, thus giving us another connection to Marehras."

Grurok, the Aspect of Marehras's Rage:

- Ghostclaw Awhn (Vulmane), Dahknarg: "It (the prophecy) stated that one year we will call the Grurok, and should a 'traitor of the blood' perform it, Dahknarg would be destroyed."

- Ghostclaw Lorak (Vulmane), Dahknarg: "Well, the ritual happens each year at this time. We summon the Grurok, who is the Aspect of Marehras's Rage, along with its servants. -- Dahknarg, when it was first created, was at war. The Ghostclaws summoned the Aspect of Marehras's Rage to help us in battle, and to encourage our people to feats of greatness. -- By that time (after the war) it had become a ritual, something we do not drop lightly. The prophecy was another reason. Also, in the end, we will always have need of Marehras's rage on our side as hunters. -- By summoning it (the Grurok), we show that we aren't afraid of our instinct, we do not fear any aspect of Marehras. It also honor to the Grurok; we show it Dahknarg and it either approves or not of our work here. It shows us, unerringly, whether Marehras is pleased by our actions. -- And so, if it were to become enraged, we would see that Marehras no longer approves of our ways, and we must change them."
