Memory Alpha is a federation research facility in the Alpha Centauri Sector Block.

There are four main research areas in the base. The middle section of the map is the lowest level researched items, the exchange, bank, and mail. The South Western most lab is the engineering section, the Western lab is the science section, and the Northern lab is tactical section.

With Season 1.1 "crafting" via memory Alpha has totally changed to simplify the process. Now you can do your "Research" at one of the Research and Development terminals found throughout the complex. The interface has four tabs, "General Research", "Energy Fields", "Physical Sciences", and "Technology R&D". The "General Research" tab will list what you can get and what you need to get it. It also displays how many "points" must be spent in this category before you can open the others (500) and shows how many you have already spent.

When you have reached 500 in General Research you need to speak to an NPC in the section you want access to. There is no price that I could see, you just request access. Apparently you can request access to all three sections but you have to visit the correct NPC to get it.

For the additional three research branches: each has a basic level where you must spend 500 points to unlock the Advanced options.

Also, each section has merchants that will sell you the physical basic components needed for your research. You still need to harvest data, but the extra items can be bought.

Listing all of the "recipes" available is a project for another stardate.
