If you Log Out, Exit game or go Link Dead while a salvage timer is active you may lose all the items involved.

Breakdown to Resources

You cannot break an item that is equipped in ANY Loadout. Amount of resources awarded down not appear to have any relation to Min. EGO, just quality. Breaking an item, after confirming, is instant.

Items to Ark Salvage:

• Common: 250
• Uncommon: 500
• Rare: 750
• Epic: 1,000
• Legendary: 1,250

Attach Mods

Instant, not restricted to unequipped weapons. You can select a mod for more than one slot at the same time, then perform the attachments in a single click.

Remove Mods

Removes all mods from a weapon, destroying the mods but saving the weapon. There is no way to select a single mod to remove. You cannot Remove Mods from an item that is equipped in ANY Loadout. This process takes 2 minutes and will cost Ark Salvage.

Retrieve Mods

Retrieves all mods from a weapon, destroying the weapon but putting the mods back in your inventory. There is no way to select some mods and leave others. You cannot Retrieve Mods from an item that is equipped in ANY Loadout. This process takes 2 minutes and will cost Ark Salvage.

Add Mod Slots

You cannot Add Mod Slots to an item that is equipped in ANY Loadout. Time to add the slot is always 10 minutes.

• Adding first slot:
• green LMG: free??!
• Adding second slot:
• blue SMG: 5,010
• Adding third slot:
• 444 blue detonator: 8,880
• 449 orange shotgun: 8,950
• 591 blue pistol: 11,820
• 789 green detonator: 15,780
• 789 blue BMG: 15,780
• Adding fourth slot:
• 751 blue pistol: 22,530
• 779 green sniper rifle: 23,370

So, based on the above sampling it appears that the cost in Ark Salvage is based on the slot number you are adding and the Min EGO, but the quality of the item has no effect on the cost.
