Signet Effects

Whilst an adventurer is in a Conquest region with Signet effect active, the following will happen:

  • There is also a chance that an elemental Crystal will drop. (When in a party with other adventurers under the effect of Signet, there is a chance that multiple crystals will drop off of a single mob.) No Crystal will drop if an area is Beastmen-controlled.

Signet is one of the few beneficial that cannot be removed by the player; once Signet is received, you must wait until it wears off or until you replace it with Sanction or Sigil. Signet will not provide any benefits in areas not subject to Conquest, including areas subject to Sanction or Sigil.

Signet Effect Duration

The duration of Signet's effect is calculated using your Mission Rank, added to your nation's current position in the Conquest. The resulting total dictates the effect's duration in Earth hours.

Example: PlayerX is Rank 3 in Bastok. Bastok is currently in second place in Conquest. 3 + 2 = 5. The player's signet effect will last five hours.

Obtaining Signet

Please reference below on the multiple ways to obtain Signet:

City and Jeuno Conquest Overseers

Speaking to your nation's Conquest Overseer and selecting "Would you cast Signet on me?" will place the Signet effect on you. The Conquest Overseer will inform you of your nation's standing in the weekly Conquest tally before granting the effect. The exception to this rule is the Conquest Overseers in Jeuno, who will grant Signet to any adventurer from any of the three starting nations, and will not inform of Conquest standings.

The Kingdom of San d'Oria (Temple Knights)

Foreign Conquest Overseers:

The Republic of Bastok (Iron Musketeers)

Foreign Conquest Overseers:

The Federation of Windurst (War Warlocks)

Foreign Conquest Overseers:

The Grand Duchy of Jeuno (Ducal Guards)

Regional Conquest Overseers

If your nation is currently in control of any given region, you may receive Signet by speaking to your Regional Conquest Overseers at the Outpost in that area. (Please refer to Conquest Overseer for a list of NPCs of that type, as well as their locations.)

Signet Staves

Signet staves are items that carry an enchantment that grants Signet effect, as if the player had spoken to a Conquest Overseer.

Once an adventurer reaches Rank 10 in their nation of allegiance, they may purchase a Signet staff from a Conquest Overseer for 5,000 Conquest points. Alternatively, such staves may also be purchased from player bazaars.

Certain conditions apply when using these items:

  • Signet Staff enchantments can not be used in non-Conquest Areas such as areas in the past.
  • The Signet effect gained from the staves will overwrite Sanction and Sigil effects.
  • The caster can only grant Signet in Conquest areas.
  • The caster can only grant Signet to players of the same nation as the staff.
  • The caster can only grant Signet to players in his/her party.

Signet Bonuses

The following bonuses are available with the Signet effect (see below for explanations in more detail):

Effect on HP

  • The initial value for HP Recovered While Healing (based on the character's level), as well as the incremental jumps in hHP (based on the character's maximum HP), will be increased.
  • This change will improve hHP in a similar way to the bonus granted to MP Recovered While Healing (hMP) by the Clear Mind job trait.
  • Initial HP recovered is calculated as 10 + 3 * floor( level / 10 )
  • Incremental HP recovered is calculated as 1 + floor( max HP / 300), capping at 5 with maximum HP at 1200 or higher.

Effect on TP

While Signet effect is active, TP will not be lost while resting.

Bonus Experience Points

While in a smaller party, the amount of experience points gained will increase. The bonus is applied on the following scale:

  • 25% bonus for parties of 2 players
  • 22.2% bonus for parties of 3 players
  • 12.5% bonus for parties of 4 players
  • 5.4% bonus for parties of 5 players

There will be no bonus attributed to defeating Notorious Monsters, or in level-capped areas.

Effect on Defense and Evasion

  • These bonuses do not apply during Ballista, or other PvP events.
  • Players will gain a bonus to their defense and evasion against their auto-attack target. This bonus only applies to attacks from an opponent who you are auto-attacking with a drawn weapon. There is no effect against attacks from other sources, including links. This bonus only applies to monsters that check as "even match" or weaker to the player.
  • The bonuses described above will only take effect when a player has received Signet, and is within areas subject to Signet's effects.
